Argenteus's Achievements

  1. Under 2 m cable, and the advice from the Nvidia forums isn't helpful. No amount of restarting and power cycling is making a difference in 4K from the GTX 660 being detected. I've even tried different chroma subsampling rates.
  2. No signal detected when doing 4k via the GTX660. Same HDMI 2.0 cable otherwise works for 4K via the iGPU.
  3. Hey Folks, I got a 'hand me down' GTX 660 I've slapped into my media centre (Running a ye old I5-4690); however I'm having an issuing getting 4K output from the card over HDMI (to a smart TV). The Spec page for the GTX 660 footnote 3 says it will do '3840x2160 at 30Hz' over the HDMI, but I'm having no luck. Same setup works switching to the iGPU (At 4k, but struggles with some content), or by lowering the output on the GTX660 to 1920x1080. Interestingly, Nvidia control panel lists 3840x2160@60 Hz as an option (however that also doesn't work). Drivers are the latest, and I've otherwise validated the rest of the chain. I unfortunately don't have a 4k monitor to try to otherwise validate the other outputs. I'm somewhat stumped, so any advice welcomed.
  4. It seems pretty awesome, but I'd love to know more about the power usage. Didn't seem like it needed AC; but is that an option?
  5. Rig name Killet Cpu: i7 3770k (running at stock) Gpu: GTX 780 (Stock, again) Ram: 16gb corsair DDR3, vengeance I think. Score: 4.6 (Seems low compared to the marker)
  6. Doesn't this watch also have NFC and wifi?
  7. Hello community I am being very tempted by this monitor Its currently free shipping for the next 8ish hours, and its easily $100AU cheaper than the next 144hz monitor around. I'm currently running two LG E2360, and thinking this one could be a third center stage one. However, I'm a little concerned about the contrast, listed as only 1000:1, compared to my existing monitors' 5,000,000:1. Yet I know that contrast on monitors isn't as straightforward as that. I'm also thinking of what would happen if I tried to run a game across all three of my monitors; I most likely imagine that the game would run at either 144hz, with the 60hz monitors only refreshing as often as they could, or my 144hz would slow down to 60hz for everything to run at 60hz. Thanks in advance for suggestions, comments and advice.
  8. I imported one from Taiwan (to aus). Loving it. My battery easily lasts 2 days. Picked up a third party smart cover, and I'm loving that as well. Gives you a little window to respond to calls and messages without opening up the whole phone. I've yet to actually try the NFC out as a payment thing, but that's got me pretty excited as well. I don't think Linus mentioned NFC in the video, though I may have missed it.
  9. Yeah, it is old. But it is free from my friend's point of view. I can't find any p35 boards in my area, unfortunately. But I didn't know about the xeon mod! That's rather interesting.
  10. Just looking for some input on this situation. I've got a friend whom I'm giving an old Q6600 to, running on a P9657AA-8KS2H from foxconn. This is the best possible CPU that board can handle. The motherboard is a bit iffy if I remember correctly from last time I used it (Doesn't save bios information after power loss, yes I tried changing the CMOS battery and other little oddities) but it runs. Having a quick look on ebay, if the motherboard were to fail, I could get a replacement board for around $60. Replacement boards pretty much all support better Core 2 quads, such that I could then get a Q9300 for $50. On the other hand, I could get my friend up and running on an I3 for around $310, as new mobo, cpu and ram would all need to be bought. They're the kind of person that would rather spend little bits of money at a time.
  11. Having caught up on all the content on Vessel and using that as my sample size of their service, I'm not that impressed. It feels clunky and 'flash based', like those websites from the early 2000s that were needlessly animated and would take twice as long to browse. The lack of resolution options is a killer for me, being in Australia with crappy internet and download limits, I'd much rather say 'only show 720p, and never 1080p' which is something I can do on youtube. As others have said, there's only the 'HD auto' or 'on' option on vessel, and it does seem lower quality. I'm a daily watcher, I go and catch up on the several videos posted by the various channels I'm subscribed to; and I'd have to remember to specifically go and check vessel for a new LTT video. Even as a free service, this is a barrier, unless you're going to tease the newest vessel video on the youtube one, I'll likely forget to do so. It will also inhibit me from linking my friends to your videos in that week long period before it is on youtube, which is a shame as I like to discuss certain things with them. I can understand why you are doing this, and why you need to, but maybe vessel needs to have some kind of youtube integration, where it can grab your sub list and embedd the videos, letting you stay at one place? Even as a free service, I currently can't see myself switching which is a shame, as I want you guys to succeed and be around 5ever. I hope the service matures, perhaps gets more of the viewers I watch, and more customisability... and the ability to double click to full screen. Edit: Another thought I had; its a bit jarring when there are referrals to youtube features on the vessel video such as annotations, and any chance of a better URL than.5455069242570208 ?
  12. It >could< be the CPU on a daughter board. I know some of the Pentium 3s did that. Right kind of timeframe.
  13. Its only in the voting stage, but with enough support those of us without the wonderful control interface that is a HOTAS could join the rest of you pilots. http://dro.ps/v/95iaV17
  14. The right to doesn't mean the old lady has to have it, just that she can.
