I mean its really up to you - you could probably add in an SSD later but I really doubt you can like switch out laptop displays (would be pretty cool though). 

As many of you know, if you have an iOS device and someone sends you this weird string of Arabic Text, your phone will instantly reboot, and sometimes get stuck in a loop. Luckly, if your jailbroken like me, there is a simple fix you can do to prevent the string of text from crashing your phone! Requires iOS 8
 
STEPS:
Install iFile onto your phone through Cydia. This can be found on the default repo. Go to this link ON YOUR PHONE's SAFARI http://breaking.xyz/public/iOS/com.mohammadag.unicodesuppressor_0.2-1_iphoneos-arm.deb In the upper right corner, click "Open in iFile" Once iFile opens, Choose the "Installer" Once the text has stopped moving on your screen, click 'Done' in the upper right. RESPRING AND PROFIT!
 
Now when ever you receive the so called "Reboot text" your phone won't reboot!

No problem. Also, here is another ASUS laptop. It's essentially the same thing as you mentioned in the OP but lacks an SSD.

It seems pretty good - I haven't used an ASUS "gaming" series laptop before so don't take my word for fact.

The GTX 960 would probably be best for this rig as people have stated above.

Yet Another Zombie Defense; not exactly goty material but still somewhat fun
 
the original PAYDAY; less free-roam and much more "mission" based but its still as fun as the second one at times
 
Saints Row games; okay if you haven't tried these already... uhh
 
Far Cry 3; the co-op isn't as good (imho) as 4 but its still fairly fun.
 
Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies; zombie cs 1.6 lol
 
No More Room in Hell; pretty fun and free! yay

For a 4690K I would recommend a Z97 motherboard mostly because you don't need a bios update which Haswell Refresh requires on Z87 boards. Other than that you can go with Z87 if you want, it really depends on price.
