  1. Well I did not know that. Good to see the prices are back on sale for those who may want it then...? Personally I'd get a RYZEN instead, after the reviews are out and confirm thy are as good as reported.
  2. {US} Pricing Microcenter Hey guys, MicroCenter is dropping Intel CPU Prices! So far, at Micro Center we've seen the beefy six-core Intel Core i7-6850K (3.60GHz) drop from $700 US to $550 US, and the i7-6800K (3.40GHz) drop down to $360 US , from $500 US. 3. Hello everyone! I wanted to update you all. Purchased and upgraded to the i7-6700K and immediately noticed a huge performance difference. I can put everything on Ultra on my games and it's all silky smooth. Playing at 3440x1440 it truly a reality. Also, I used Thermaltake TG-7 Thermal Grease (diamond power) as it was all I could find and not entirely sure if that had an impact on the performance but just wanted to mention it. Thanks everyone for taking the time to help! You guys rock! Shep
  4. That is a really nice build and price point.
  5. I was using Raptr and just switched using NVidia GeForce Experience and will see if there's any improvement. In addition, I've been playing with Over Clocking the CPU and currently stable at 4.45 Mhz, also upped the Memory to 2667 14-16-16-34 1.35V.
  6. Hey All, Some time ago I posted about my build. When I started playing in 3440x1440 I noticed that my FPS was just not cutting it. I discovered my CPU utilization was hitting 100% causing FPS hit and stuttering. So started playing with the CPU Over Clocking settings and now I have my i5-6600K at 4.3 Ghz, yet I still see my CPU is bottle necking and impacting game performance. Now I need your help! I am trying to decide if I should upgrade to an i7-6700K 4.0Ghz or go with one of the new Intel Broadwell-E 6-Core 3.4 GHz CPU that is out? I know, I'd also have to switch out the Motherboard as well if I did change from the Skylake CPU. But I am open to ideas of getting the best but not going crazy with the money. Current Build: Monitor: ASUS ROG PG348 (34" Ultra Wide Screen) G-SYNC Case: Fractal Design - Define R5Mobo: ASUS Maximus VIII HeroCPU: Intel i5-6600KRAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400 Mhz (XMP Quad Channel)GPU: GeForce GTX1080 Founders Edition (just upgraded)PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000 G2 80+GoldStorage: Samsung 950 PRO M.2 512GBCPU Cooling: Corsair H100i GTX 240mm Liquid CPU Cooler Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB Mouse: Corsair M65 RGB So my plan is to get the nerve up to do a custom liquid cooling solution but it seems a lot more work than it is worth. Thanks for taking the time to read this! Shep
  7. Not sure the benefits for an I7-6700K wold give me. I am only gaming on my PC for the moment. If I get in to game development or video editing... makes sense.
  8. Hi All, I build my new computer recently and wanted to get feedback on what improvements you'd consider. Monitor: ASUS ROG PG348 (34" Ultra Wide Screen) G-SYNC Case: Fractal Design - Define R5Mobo: ASUS Maximus VIII HeroCPU: Intel i5-6600KRAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400 Mhz (XMP Quad Channel)GPU: GeForce GTX1080 Founders Edition (just upgraded)PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000 G2 80+GoldStorage: Samsung 950 PRO M.2 512GBCPU Cooling: Corsair H100i GTX 240mm Liquid CPU Cooler Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB Mouse: Corsair M65 RGB So my plan is to get the nerve up to do custom liquid cooling solution but it seems a lot more work than it is worth. But I wanted to future proof as well. The ASUS ROG PG348 is amazing for productivity but not so much for gaming as there are not many games that support it. Let's hope more games come out supporting this monitor format! Thanks for taking the time to read this! Shep
  9. Not sure if you're still having this problem but I wanted to share what I did to fix it. I had an old version of CUE, I had to update to the latest CUE software and then updated the Firmware. After I did that it worked like a boss. http://www.corsair.com/en-us/support/downloads There is also a really good information here on the Corsair forum which includes pictures. Really good stuff. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=154018 Hope this helped. All the best! Shep
  10. That case looks so great. And the cooling system is really something I always wanted to have.
  11. That case looks so great. And the cooling system is really something I always wanted to have.
  12. I have to share this. I think it is pretty fuckin' shitty to see Amazon allow people to re-sell things at high prices on their website for MORE than the MSRP. I call out your bullshit and refuse to pay more. For example this Corsair Vengeance K70 Keyboard is normally $169 but this guy has it at $204?! I mean really? Are you THAT desperate to make a profit? 13. This is not about who deserves what. They picked a winner by random not based on the number of posts or how active you are on the forums. As long as they follow the process they paid out and are fair that is all anyone can ask from LMG. It sucks the guy missed out on the prize. I'd be really upset as well. But what happened happened and there is nothing but to move on from it.
  14. Okay... so I broke down and bought..... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125685 GIGABYTE GV-N970WF3OC-4GD GeForce GTX 970 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready G-SYNC Support Video Card. Now I am trying to determine which G-SYNC Monitor to go with it. I really want to have the best gaming experience for this game. Been waiting years for it to come out. It is between: Acer XB280HK bprz Black 28" 1ms 4K Widescreen LED Backlight G-sync LCD Monitor300 cd/m2 1000:1 OR ASUS ROG PG278Q Black 27" 1ms(GTG) Widescreen WQHD LED Backlight LCD G-SYNC 3D Monitor , Gaming Hotkeys, 6mm Slim Bezel 350 cd/m2 100,000,000:1 What do you guys think? Any other options out there?
  15. I did not see a post about the requirements for this game so i wanted to make abost about them ans see what you guys thought. I also shared my PC specs below, and wanted to know you thought I would be able to play this game on Ultra settings in 1080p? From the official Dragon Age website, the requirements are: Minimum PC Specs OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit CPU: AMD quad-core CUP @2.5 GHz / Intel quad-core CPU @2.0 GHz System RAM: 4 GB Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 4870 / NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Graphics Card Memory: 512 MB Hard Drive Space: 26 GB DirectX 10 Recommended PC Specs OS: WIndows 7 or 8.1 64-bit CPU: AMD six-core CPU @ 3.2 GHz / Intel quad-core CPU @3.0 GHz System RAM: 8 GB Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7870 or R9 270 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Graphics Card Memory: 3 GB Hard Drive Space 26 GB DirectX 11 Now I have a i7-2600, Geforce GTX770 w/2GB, 16 GB ram 1333, 1 TB SSD. I was wondering if you guys believed I would be able to play this game in Ultra settings based on the specs above or if I should upgrade anything? Thanks for reading and appreciate any constructive feedback. Shep
