Let me update you for closure:

The Straight Power 11 was out of stock everywhere and I bought RM650X. It's dead silent and the PC now is pretty silent as well. Can't hear it apart from some air moving under normal use and while gaming it can't be heard over the game sound.
I'm really happy with the result.
Just wondering why modern PSUs don't include single GPU cables. This one and my old one only have double cables, for two GPUs. Makes it harder to cable manage for most users.

I mean removing the cooler and putting it back on.
This can fix it or reveal that the paste wasn't spread correctly by the cooler, which means poor contact.

Undervolting is always good, but temps shouldn't be that high in the first place, so it might just hide another issue.
But if the stock voltage got messed up it's worth checking it.

    Hi!
I thought someone besides me might be interested in getting a TeamTrees counter set up.

    1) I created a simple shell script which retrieves the number of trees which will be planted so far:
curl -s https://teamtrees.org/ | grep id=\"totalTrees\" |egrep -o '[[:digit:]]+' | head -1 With this you can choose your way to display it, e.g. a digital screen, a notification, an widget or whatever.. I chose a MacOS notification.

To do this I put the script in MacOS automator application like so:

Changed the icon to a random tree found in google.
And saved it to the Applications folder.

    2) Then to run hourly I added a plist file to ~/Library/LaunchAgents named org.teamtrees.plist
    With the following content:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Label</key> <string>org.teamtrees</string> <key>ProgramArguments</key> <array> <string>/usr/bin/open</string> <string>-W</string> <string>/Applications/Trees.app</string> </array> <key>StartInterval</key> <integer>3600</integer> <key>RunAtLoad</key> <true/> </dict> </plist>
    3) Loaded it using:
    launchctl load org.teamtrees
And now I get a notification like this one hourly:

    GL HF!

msvelev reacted to MageTank in [SOLVED] At What Point Can The CPU Become The Bottleneck?
To add to this, one can also force a CPU bottleneck by running at lower resolutions, increasing the amount of frames that need to be rendered for the GPU, resulting in the CPU being unable to feed the GPU. You can also go the opposite direction, and reverse the bottleneck by running higher resolutions, lowering the amount of frames that need to be rendered, which puts heavy lifting on the GPU's shoulders.

Anyone that runs SLI Titan Pascals need not worry about the CPU. It's their monitor that will be the potential bottleneck, lol.

A bit below they also explain the "51%". It's another marketing wording.. It was a CPU bottle neck at that point.
Let's hope that when the 3d party benchmarks come out, the 480 will prove to be an awesome budget gpu as it seems.

Thats probably the best your going to get for US$500. Feel free to change the GPU for an AMD 380. It performs very slightly better in some games but worse in others. (Im sure someone will be along to shout about how overpriced nvidia are blah blah)

256 mem bus. The IO is sketchy as hell as well for a mid range card.

The whole time I was reading this I was imagining you coming home all excited, being so proud of your Frakenrig while on my end I'm just looking on in helplessly just waiting for the moment you find out the game needs to download some crap off the internet.
It it like watching a movie or reading a book where the viewer/reader has information the characters do not and you want to yell "No! Don't do that!" to them even though you know it is pointless.

Yesterday right after work, I went to the nearest gaming store and bought Fallout 4. I've just moved into a new place and have no internet there so I couldn't just digitally download it from steam. So I get home an d I realize that I have no DVD reader in my PC.. However nothing was finished, since I have an old PC with a DVD in it. After about 5 minutes of trying to take it out of it, I just couldn't figure it out. I couldn't take it out without cutting the HW cage, and I don't have the tools for that. DAMN PREBUILDS! So I open my PC and connect a SATA power and data cable to the installed in the other PC DVD burner, I turn it on and BAM, Frankenstein was born.

Everything worked, then I realized that the game wants to download 15GB, so it didn't quite work out in the end..
