  1. What mobo do you have? it might not be dead cpu, it might just be older mobo that doesnt support newer architecture of the CPU even though its the same socket Escpetially true for CPUs of 6th and 7th gen. EDIT: NWM that shouldnt be the case
  2. I hope you were trying to get the video from the mobo while the CPU was inside as well as the CPU power cable If not, that might be the problem since mobo on its own doesnt have any GPU Also make sure RAM is inside
  3. you really think they have a way of paying 60 mil $ in btc to their users? No way, unless they somehow retrieve the stolen funds there is no way anyone is getting their money back. The only thing they MIGHT do is make it seem like you have higher hashrate and ease up on the fees so people will be more likely to mine there again because it will seem better than on pools etc. But after a period of time they will just tell us that they were not able to retrieve the funds and are very sorry but to continue functioning like before they wont be able to reinburse people. Thats my opinion, if they prove me wrong i will be among the first to come back.
  4. miningrigrentals.com learn a bit about that, should pay about the same or even better if you chose right algorithm
  5. 8-10 might have be a little too many if you are not carefull and forget to downclock all of the gpus.
  6. Its weird it says 160$ normally on steelseries websites and other sites but they are very often sold for about 80$ new from stores. Something like 2-3 times a year they do "special" deals
  7. really? what monitor is that? Change resolution inside windows?
  8. "gaming" on mac JK!!!!! steelseries sensei wireless might surprise you
  9. usually in monitor settings, directly from monitor controls you are able to adjust this.
  10. it it still does have waranty, then yes it does void your warranty. Only an authorized service may do that without voiding an warranty and normaly it works like this: they void the orig waranty and give you another on only on the swap.
  11. EVGA does also offer 10 years(at least on mine they did) but they are most of the time more expensive if you are concerned about powerdraw i have 2x 1070 + 2x 470 8gb and they draw 600w from the wall with 4790k, 10 fans, 2 hdd, 1 ssd, 2m.2 ssd, 2 pumps mouse and keyboard (without monitors) when mining. Soooooooo, 1200w for 4 1070 is an overkill 800 would be sufficient as long as you OC them + reduce powerdraw + optimize for mining.
  12. EVGA P2 1000w supernova from my old rig and antec 1000w platinum psu. PSU is one of the things which you should invest in. The more more efitient it is, the more you save money and in the long run they dont really lose value. at least the high end ones. Because most of them are sold many many years after they came to market for the same price as at launch.
  13. is it possible that you have oced them a little too much? sometimes that causes the same issue.
  14. Right now nicehash seems to be pretty damn good, with my 2 1070 doing equihash. 460 sol/s on each card makiung about 2.75/day at 120w power each.
  15. Its sad but its true, laptop mining is not profitable, especially when you take into consideration power consumption + component degeneration(since cooling in laptops is most of the time a joke with higher end components)
  16. I was selling my hashing power for a few days now and i have encountered a little problem that is pissing me off On my 2x 8gb rx470 Nitro+ i have been able to mod bios, OC them and get about 29mh/s (on ETH) out of each card (more like 28.5). But when renting the has speed for longer(eg 4 hours, on nicehash(i know not the best way to earn with GPU)) the clock speed of both cards drops to around 100/130 mhz less than max clock speed and stays there, that results in about 1.2/1.5 Mh/s less hashing power on each card. To bring them back i have to manually in wattman increase/decrease any setting and press apply and it goes back. No the cards are not thermal throttling, they are sitting at cosy 75*C. No i havent OCed them to hell, only 1280 on the core clock and 2100 on memory. No i havent undervolted them too much 1020/1030mV at max clock speed. Any ideas what might be causing this issue?
  17. Thanks man for the help, if I my ask how much do you mine per month? And is it too naive to think that I will get my money back in about 6 months? (electricity is veeeeeery cheap where I live)
  18. The fans, especially on the strix are so f-ing loud that it's unbelievable. I have a 1070 in my personal rig, mining with that too when I am not using the pc or just watching movies/Internet browsing. And it's water-cooled, super oced and Max temps are 42*C in a room that is 22*C I am kind of proud about that! 200mhz on the clock and 750 on the memory oc.
  19. RDP is the plan, i am planning to put it outside and since the winter is now coming in my country the cooling should be fine. (humidity buildup already solved, airflow too, waterproofing/dust proofing and resistance against natural causes also solved, planing to put it into a box with filtered fan holes+fans, under roof so no rain, humidity buildup will be solved by dehumidifier(a good one)) Power cable will go to the rig and internet will go through wifi. Dumb or smart?
  20. 390 strix is already undervolted and memory OCed for equihash ( i think, that was what i found out works) and because of temps + power consumption, fan curve also set to go for the most silent operation. The rx 570 will arive friday. So i have to do the same with them.
  21. Great, so i managed to get 2x 570 4gb for a great price, so my mining cards will be 2x 390 8gb and 2x 570 4gb. The 570 are the same ones, but the 390s are different one is Strix the other is Nitro, will that make some issues?
  22. It has 1x Pcie 3x 1x Pcie 2x and 2x Pcie 1x so i think i am fine right?
  23. my initial goal is to go for the longterm. Since cryptos have a trend to go up in value, meaning my plan to sell them is when i reach the point when my investment will be paid (if ever) + i like to build PCs of any sort. My first experiences were with nicehash( not real mining, well not mining at all ). With this rig i wanted to go for eth/altcoin but first i wanted to get some knowledge on configs etc, so i might play a few days with that at the start.
  24. yeaaaaaaaaaaah, but late then never still 5/6 months to get my investment back ( if i get it back) is fine with me (i can wait). And got the parts for a nice price. From my searches there are people using it with 4x gpus.
  25. Just wanna make sure that my components will fit together for a mining rig: Intel Celeron 3900t MSI H110 PC MATE 8gb DDR4 2400Mhz memory 60gb SSD 1000W EVGA platinum PSU 2x R9 390 8GB (these i have) 2x rx 470 4gb / 2x GTX 970 4gb / something else with similar wattage (480, 570, 1060, 1070) 4x 1x - 16x usb riser stock cooler + 2/fans PSU calculator says 880W under full load so 1000W should be fine. Will this setup fit together?
