  1. Update: My temps have gone down for some random reason. I believe that my multiplier was stuck at 39 and I honestly don't know how I fixed it. Going to re-install the H80i again later. Will keep posted
  2. Just realised that isn't the main problem, for some reason my CPU is starting up fine then the multiplier gets stuck at 35, I turned turbo mode off, and speed step (or whatever its called) is on. Also my power plan is set to balanced and still no change A pic of the clocks
  3. Just washer modded, did the tightest hold i could get and we are only talking about 5c difference in temps. They did go down which is a good sign. Corsair are reluctant to give me a warranty because I got the cooler as a gift and don't have the receipt, so yeah....
  4. Like when you take the lid off a half full water bottle and tip it upside down, the gushing sound that make with the pauses for air getting trapped
  5. You could connect a pwm splitter to your GPU fan header ofpn the PCB and that might work
  6. Thanks for the help, just wondering what internal diameter of the washer should be for a snug fit, going to head out in a while to get a few
  7. No the air cooler before the H80i was at 32c and after when I changed back was at 45c
  8. I didn't even bother to stress test with a 45 idle, however I loaded up TF2 just for a little test and temps shot right up to 80c
  9. Also I would just like to ask, is it normal to be able to hear the water moving around when I flip the AIO upside down, it sounds like its only half filled or something
  10. I updated my firmware and now the H80i doesn't show up anymore, it did before
  11. But a £10 air cooler should not be out shining any watercooling... ever.... thats my only problem.
  12. If you think 50c on a water cooled 4770k is fine at stock voltages and speeds then I don't know what to say
  13. Its difficult to get hold of isopropyl alcohol around where I live, so i used white spirit to get it off. Looked like it did the job and the compound spread very nicely. You think it could cause this much in temp variation?
  14. I didn't know the H80 was the same, like I said is that the old heatsink was 18c lower at idle than the H80 was so I wanted to just go back as I believed the pump had a problem
  15. Earlier today I installed a Corsair H80i and was getting some pretty high temps, I posted a topic on it but everything was working fine so nothing came of the help I received (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/207623-desperate-need-4770k-and-h80i-with-idle-of-50c-with-no-oc/?p=2816547). Anyway I decided to resort back to my old CPU cooler which was working very well for its price, however I am still getting very high temps at around 45c idle whereas before I installed the H80i I had 32c. Wondering what exactly the problem with the CPU might be for the overheating, I'm not exactly savvy with voltages and stuff so any help would be appreciated.
