  1. Is there any simple program that lets you display frametime instead of just FPS? Skyrim looks choppy as fuck at 60 FPS and I'm struggling to find a software that displays the fluctuations in frametime. I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible for a program to do that.
  2. So I have a Corsair 200R and there are a few fan mounts that I don't use. The ventilation holes are unwanted and bad for the airflow. What's an elegant way to cover them? Will black tape (from the inside of the panel) do the job, or is there something I should know?
  3. Thanks, stupid me thought that 4x2 and 2x4 were the same thing.
  4. Thanks everyone. EVGA 430W it is. My friend doesn't plan on upgrading to more demanding hardware so it's all good. Can you explain why? If I understand you are suggesting quad channel instead of dual channel? Is it worth it?
  5. This is the PC: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/V7rgqs I chose the EVGA 430W Haswell-compatible unit temporarily. I think it's fine, but the specs for the R9 270 says that an 500W unit is recommended. Am I good with this PSU and that's simply a "just to be absolutely safe" recommendation? Inserting the PC specs in a wattage calculator says that this thing can draw a max of about 300 watts, so yeah... Also, does the PSU have the appropriate cables for the GPU? PSU spec page: evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=100-W1-0430-KR (says it has a 1x 8pin (6+2) PCI-E connector) GPU recommendations: "500W (or greater) power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended" I'm honestly a bit confused. If this PSU is a not appropriate, what can I replace it with? I'm having trouble finding a 500 W sobstitute that isn't too pricey and is compatible with Haswell.
  6. It's all fun and games until you have to install a tower cooler. Seriously, can't wait until CPUs are efficient enough that we won't need coolers anymore.
  7. More like, Microsoft buying Mojang. They bought Mojang for 2.5 BILLIONS. How the hell are they ever gonna get back all that money with a kinda old game?
  8. Came up with this topic idea, might turn out to be interesting... What do you think are the common mistakes that companies make, sometimes over and over? I think that the they often mess up PC cases. They try to do everything, and often failing at it, instead of focusing on a more specific goal. It's nice to have a case with lots of features, but having like 30 fan mounts, 70 HDD mounts, support for giant radiators, gigantic holes for cooler installation and cable management, the case essentially becomes a noisy, vibrating skeleton.
  9. Still didn't explain why it's x86 and not x32, cry everytiem
  10. I accidentally broke the PCI-E thingy that should hold the card in place. The video card worked anyway.
  11. Well, the 750 Ti has no backplate on the PCB and it's one of the smallest modern GPUs, so I think I'll be fine. Thanks a ton for the help.
