  1. Thanks I’ll give that a try. If not I’ll have to go get a proper pump. I’m not sure if it is the pump tho because I had a bitspower xyz res in the loop as well as the ek one originally and that was also struggling with both it and the ek pump. I took it out as I could not tell if it was running so I thought it was faulty. So it seems a bit extreme for two d5 pumps to not have enough head pressure. But than they are combo units so to speak, and usually combo units are usually cheap crap so I guess it’s not impossible. I was going to get a seperate pump originally instead of the bitspower res and pump combo but than thought that was a waste because the pump and res was actually cheaper than just the pump. Guess that goes to show how crap and cheap the pumps in these combo units are.
  2. Hi all, just wanted to see if I can get some advise on a issue I’m having with a new loop I’ve put together. Issue is there seems to be extremely low flow to the point where I’m having trouble filling the whole loop up. When I turn the pump on you can see the levels try to move than slosh back in place so it seems like there’s a extreme amount of back pressure that the pump can’t overcome. The pump is definitely working as I can see it spinning and hear it vibrating as well. Loop layout is: res to cpu, cpu to ek rad, ek rad to GPU, GPU to Corsair rad and Corsair rad back to ek res. According to the ek manual for both the res and cpu block are directional so I have hooked them up matching their manuals. The GPU block and both rads did not mention so I assumed it did not matter. ive tried removing a hose and trying to fill the radiator directly but again there seems to be extreme back pressure so it just sprays back out. I’ve got one of the rad fittings open and the fill port in the res open to try give a path for the air to come out but the pressure just will not release. I’ve tried opening every fitting in the system but nothing will release the pressure. im thinking I need to go buy a dedicated more powerful D5 pump but I don’t want to go buy something and it not solve the issue. Not to mention no one in Sydney stocks em and being Christmas shipping I’d be lucky to get it by New Years components are: Corsair 420 rad, ek 360 rad, ek quantum kinetic 360 res and pump and I’m using soft tubing thank god. Wanted to use hard but talked myself out of it luckily otherwise this would of been even more of a nightmare! thanks for your assistance.
  3. Australia. ive already built myself a gaming desktop. i want something I can use on the lounge downstairs to watch movies and surf the web. thanks.
  4. Hi folks,Title says it all I'm in the market for a new laptop, want to grab something with a 17" glossy 4K touchscreen and a metal unibody there really the only requirements I have.Budget max $2500. I'll be using it only for watching videos and surfing the web so don't really need anything too powerful. However I frequently leave 2 chrome windows open with 30+ tabs each open so minimum of 16GB of RAM would Be a good idea.Storage I want a nvme small drive to store the OS really that's it everything else I'll store on my external HDDs.I was looking at the HP Envy 17 but it looks like there not available in OZ. I've asked HP when the ETA is but they couldn't tell me.Really like the look of the EVGA SC 17 but there's no way in hell im paying 4000 for that! Also considering a 15 inch maybe the spectre X360 15" but again HP have told me there not releasing in OZ I always loved the asus N series laptops but I haven't been able to find any of them? The vivobook and zen book range both seem to be old models discontinued now and I can't see any replacements to them? What other models would you guys recommend? Please no matt screens though, I absolutely LOATHE matte screens!!!!!!Thank you for your advice.
  5. Thanks for the assistance. I ended up doing two lines between the GPU getting it installed wasn't too bad i think my MB the maximus VII formula has bigger gaps between the first and second PCIE slots which made it easier. Unfortunately no luck finding anyone with fittings in stock today though so I'm going to stop past a store during my lunch break tomorrow and hopefully they will have enough fittings in stock for me to finish this thing off. Excited and intrigued to see what the temps will be like running the config like this and compare it to my old 980ti. Or even if running these on water will let me oc them much more. I was having big temp issues on air with both 1080s had to have the fans up to 80% to get them below 80c so it will be interesting to see how much the water helps with that.
  6. Hi Guys, Quick question I dont think this will work,. but would it be possible to leave the tubing routing the way I have it in the photo above and just have two lines connecting the bottom and top GPUs? So I'd be going into the first card via the right slot then out of the first card via the bottom right slot and into the second card via the top right slot then back up to the top card via the top left slot and then out of the first card via the top left slot to the back radiator. So basically how I was running by single 980ti build. Would that work?
  7. Thanks. I agree love the look of the 909 looks so minimalist but also so stylish. Shame it's a pain in the ... to build in though! Wish they would remove the back compartment and have it as one open space so I could of put my res in behind of where the front fans are would of looked so much nicer! They need to file down the edges too some of the edges on the inside are razor sharp got so many cuts all over me and god knows what it would to to the cables and soft tubing over time. i wish inwin would do a EATX version of the infinity window 505 I think it's called. Large enough to fit a 60mm thick front rad 420 mm in the front and a 240 at top or bottom would be the perfect case. Only chose the 909 plus because the others are too small. As it is now I've had to remove the bottom fan off the front rad as the 1080 strix is too long won't fit ?
  8. Thanks for the advice. So I could have the loop enter the bottom card and leave out the top of the top card to go to the back radiator? I think that will be the easiest way and hopefully it will line up perfectly so I can re use the tubes.
  9. Hi Folks, I've recently purchased 2 new GTX 1080 STRIX cards and want, well...... need to redo part of my loop to install the second water block just wanted some advice on how I can route the tubes with changing as little as possible. I've attached a pic to show how I've currently got things done and really want to try change as little as possible. Please note obviously the pic is of my old single 980ti, which is being replaced with 2 1080 STRIX one in the top slot currently occupied by the 980ti, and another in the slot below it. The tube on the left of the GPU is the outlet going to the back radiator, and the one on the right is the inlet coming from the front radiator. I was thinking of redoing the right hand tube so we would go out of the front radiator, tight 90 degree bend to run parallel just behind the fans then come back up and go into the inlet on the left hand side of the 1080 which will be in the second PCIE slot. Then I can go out of GPU 2 up into GPU 1 via a straight piece of short tube. And then utilize the current tube I already have in place to the back radiator. Would that work? Or how would you recommend me do it? Can you utilize both the top and bottom left hand slots as inlet and outlet for each block, or do you have to use one left and one right? Oh, BTW, I'm using the 1080 STRIX bitspower water blocks. Thanks for your assistance!
  10. Hi guys, Just wanted to ask is it possible to add a second card into a hard line loop without dismantling the loop? Finally finished my first loop on Monday was so happy with it booted up rise of the tomb raider and its lagging hard. I can't get above 20fps without lowering a lot of settings which i don't really want to do. I was hoping one g1 would be enough till pascal is out but I think I was wrong and am trying to find a solution to add a second one without dismantling the loop. Otherwise if i add another card and just run it off air cooling that shouldn't hold back the water cooled card should it? I was looking at the Asus 20th anniversary looks cool! Or would I be better off waiting till pascal hits? I'm a bit worried when that will be though all the rumours and leaks point to the entry levels releasing first and the 980 replacement holding till end of year. I was hoping the Titan x replacement would be revealed at GDC but it's starting to look like that won't happen. Thanks!
  11. Hi Folks, I recently switched cases and had my new parts for my water build turn up upon switching over the standard PSU cables to the cable mod ones now i cant get the computer to post no video coming out of my G1 980ti the cards not even lighting up no fans either. Motherboard error code is A2. I switched back to the old PSU cables which were working fine but still same error. I disconnected all the SATA cables since that codes suppose to be a HDD error and also the SATA power leeds and tried connecting one by one but still same error. Even went and bought a new SSD and re installed windows nothing. Just finished updating the BIOS now still same error. Occasionally get the 99 error but A2 most of the time. Could that error be caused by something else like a fried CPU, motherboard, or GPU? since the GPU wont display a video or the lights wont turn on im worried thats fried, but according to the motherboard the A2 is a HDD error so I dont want to go down the route of testing the GPU when it cant be that causing the issue. I disconnected everything bar the CPU power leeds and the 24 pin still got the A2 error. Disconnected the GPU left only one power SATA and data SATA to one SSD still A2 error. It's not a faulty HDD or cable I hooked them up to my laptop working fine. Sigh, and here i was so excited my parts finally arrived thinking I would spend the weekend planning and installing that!
  12. Finally had most of the parts arrive today. Still waiting on the GPU blocks but everything else has arrived. The cable mod cables though, most of the cables have a pin missing on one side of the cable? Like the 24 pin and CPU cables both have the normal amount of pins on one side but on the other theres one pin missing? Is that normal? Ive never seen power cables missing one pin all the cables ive used have the same ammount on both ends. And it seems to be with almost all the cables so surely it cant be a faulty batch, right? One other thing the USB 3.0 port on my motherboard a lot of the pins are bent is there another way to hook up the USB 3 cable from the in win case? Or is there a easy way to fix the pins? I tried with a torch and magnifying glass but the pins are so dam small and close together there really hard to see!
  13. Thanks. Yeah I've ordered 12 fittings should only need 10 so I've got 2 spare hopefully that's enough. Now I just need to find someone with the GPU block in stock and then only design planning. I'll probably put the res at the back in between the plate and the 360 rad will probably look neatest
  14. Shame, looks so cool! I wonder if you put a motor or something small in there like a pripellar if it would give you at least a little of the same swirling effect in normal coolant? Tossing up where I should put the res im a bit worried that if I put it at the back it wont be high enough to have gravity above all the other components. Front of the case is even tighter. Might have to remove the HDD bays and place it in there, but then it has to lay sideways and I have nowhere to place my 3.5 HDDs. InWin could of designed this case so much better, especially for a "full tower" case it surely does not have the space and capacity of one! But then I am use to the 900D so maybe im a bit skewed...........
  15. Thanks thought it was. I think I'll stick with standard distilled water everyone I speak to says the mayhem will gunk up and block the loop so I don't want to risk it.
