  1. Yeah, I'm probably gonna buy it at some point so I can support them. Don't have the money to spare at the moment.
  2. HDCP 2.2 is such a pain... I have a 1080p projector and a Chromecast Ultra, yet I can't play 4K content down-sampled to 1080p because of encryption that serves no benefits to anyone whatsoever. 1080p Netflix and YouTube looks awful at a large screen size, so the increased resolution and bitrate would help so much. I'm going to try a converter, but I don't exactly have high hopes for it (nor should I have to get a converter in the first place). On my PC, I have both a compatible CPU and GPU to play 4K content yet I can't because of the lack of HDCP 2.2 on my monitor. I accept that a hardware decoder for HEVC is necessary (after Wendell spoke about it on the WAN Show), but when will Hollywood learn that forcing a stupid encryption standard that hurts the consumers, not the pirates, is a pretty bad idea...
  3. As they state on their website, it is completely free for Blu-rays whilst in beta so they provide a free key on their forum. That key expires every 2 months or so, but it always instantly updated on the same page, so all you have to do is paste the key in every 2 months. It's been in beta for years and it seems likely it will never get a full release.
  4. Ethernet cable really isn't expensive to buy, and you should be able to install it through the existing holes with relative ease. As said by @tlink, you likely won't reach 100Mbps with those cables and the connection might be unstable.
  5. I have a 3TB Seagate Barracuda, and it's already full (2TB of Doctor Who + movies uncompressed). It's also not redundant, so I really need to get a RAID array going.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I'm starting to really enjoy Plex (especially since I've started ripping my Blu-rays onto it) and having the majority of the content I consume in one place would be incredibly convenient, opposed to having YouTube, Floatplane and Plex and needing to switch between them.
  7. I know that this is a long way away, but it would be cool in future if Floatplane Club could have a channel for Plex so I could watch content directly on Plex.
  8. Does your VPN provider have any port forwarding option?
  9. If the top bid doesn't pay, does it fall back to the second to top? Because there's someone with a 405 rep second to top with a $75,050 bid...
  10. CPU jumps to 66%, GPU hovers around 23% and disk is at 7MBps.
  11. It's a rip from one of the 4K UHD Blu-rays, which is why the bitrate is that high - I just assumed that a system with this much power would be able to handle it, considering a Blu-ray player would.
  12. Hi. I'm running a newly built system (specs are at http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/b/CzMZxr) which has an i7 7700k (overclocked to 4.9GHz with no overheating issues) - now what I heard is that the 7700k has hardware accelerated 10 bit HEVC decoding, but when I play a 63mbps 10 bit HEVC-encoded 3840x2160 MKV file with a bitrate of 63mbps on my 850 EVO, it looks like this and lags heavily: It looks fine in Windows Media Player, but lags even more than VLC. Do you know of any software that may be able to play this without these problems, or is my setup just not powerful enough?
  13. Errr, it was on his stream - so it might be here https://www.twitch.tv/luke_lafr/v/98725324.
  14. Luke spoke on his stream about this, and he made it quite clear that every CDN and cloud service they have looked at is far too expensive for them - which is why they're doing it themselves. To my knowledge they're using OVH as the host, and just have a central server that ingests the videos and then pushes them out to the edge servers.
  15. You could always sub to the Twitch channel until there is a different payment method.
  16. Hmm. Guess we'll just have to wait and find out if they make one.
  17. Have you considered that you get Google Play Music included with YouTube Red for free?

  19. I love it except for that launcher and the circle icons - hopefully it won't replace the Google Now Launcher in it's current state.
  20. I would love to win the Blade Stealth, it would be fantastic for me since I'm starting my GCSEs at school and I would prefer it over the Blade due to battery life.
