  1. Hey all. Got a Macbook as my secondary device now. Looking for a Speedfan type application to monitor temps when I'm doing anything strenuous on it (I've noticed a lot of things can be considered strenuous..). Found iStat Menu and it's pretty good for the most part but it costs money (so yes, I'm looking for something free). EDIT: realised I goofed and meant Speedfan.
  2. Don't know how to help you I'm afraid but out of curiosity, why are you creating secondary shortcuts?
  3. Looking on Amazon, the base 16gb wifi model is around £300. His is actually the LTE model so I'd guess maybe around £50 more on market value (this is all stuff I was thinking about before he told me he already had it). It was costing him like £160 outright + £72 for the data plan contract he's stuck to so around £230 total, plus he's stuck with it for a year. In a year (less than, in like a couple of months) the new model will be out which will hit the value of this + this will be a year old and second hand + the mobile provider sent it with 0 packaging besides the plastic wrapping . So there's basically no value in waiting a year. The alternative would be to terminate early (which may incur an early termination charge) and sell now which would probably make some profit but not really worth the effort imo. EDIT: Oh and the device would need to be unlocked which they may even charge for.
  4. No one in the house has a use for it except me and I don't want it so it's just a waste of money.
  5. Yesterday my dad come home and started telling me about how his mobile provider was offering him an iPad Air 2. I started working how prices and what not in my head to see if it'd be worth buying and then reselling. He then tells me that the person from the mobile provider contacted him 2 days ago and the iPad was now downstairs... Well that was clearly a smart decision on his part.. That iPad is now on its way back.
  6. My dad would say the same thing when I tell him to learn to type with more than just his 2 index fingers.
  7. Supposedly the Moto 360 2nd gen is around the corner. Could be worth waiting for that or the price drop that'll happen to the first gen once it's out.
  8. Dunno what you're chattin'. Flawless logic right dere.
  9. Maybe I'm underestimating the police but I'm not convinced anyone at a local department would understand so it just seems like a big pain.
  10. I wouldn't do this in a public place for fear of being arrested due to a lack of understanding of the observer (and even the police).
  11. Maybe I've just become accustomed to a certain level of snappiness with my stuff but I'm wary of the cpu in the macbook being able to keep up.. At least in the way I use computers (so excluding tablets and smartphones). If you can get that same deal with the MBP or Air then I'd say get that.
  12. Not on Windows 10 though it does look solid visually (reviews on their website are underwhelming to say the least).
  13. You're partly correct in that Nintendo tried to make a game that was both casual and competitive. Problem is they don't know how to make a competitive game. Getting off-topic so I don't care to continue this discussion. I have indeed. I even played the 3DS version extensively when it was released.
  14. Different game. Melee (released on the GC) has superior mechanics from a competitive standpoint and the only reason people want a re-release is so they can swap to modern tv's.
  15. Don't have one, don't plan on getting one. Most of my gaming interests are satisfied by my pc. Exception is if they re-release Smash Melee (which is unlikely) and even then it's a maybe.
  16. Anyone make use of a mail client on their desktop to view multiple mail accounts? (a la Outlook or Thunderbird) Used to use Thunderbird but it was a pain to configure it every time I installed it so certain actions put mail in the right place. That and the fact Mozilla stopped working on it ages ago are why I stopped. I switched to Outlook because I got it free from work but when I moved my drives to a new pc it started flipping out about not being valid and it's too much effort to fix it. Any suggestions? I'm currently in the process of trying out Mailbird and Inky. Oh and ideally 4+ mail account support and Exchange support.
  17. DeSuMe and Dolphin are what I use mainly (and extensively) both work great. I doubt a work computer will be able to handle Wii games through an emulator though.
  18. I didn't think anyone did but when I was working last year one of my colleagues (there was only like 6 of us and I don't think this ever came up with the other staff in conversation) was an 18 year old that still actively bought them. Some people also bought blurays but since buying digital copies of movies is still a pain it's more understandable.
  19. Just a guess, by upgrade are you referring to Win10?
  20. The S6 is actually pretty good. It does however have some additional memory flaws besides the ones it inherited from Lollipop.
  21. Can't help you with your problem but your picture is adorable.
  22. Its max output resolution could be the same, but that doesn't mean it can render games at that same max output (in the case of Nvidia and their downsampling, the opposite is even possible). Anyway, this is both no longer experience with non-techies, it has also spun off completely from what the original point was. Fair enough.
