I can't believe it's finally happening, we've all been waiting too long for this. AMD is a serious competitor to Intel again atlast. Definitely worth the wait, thank you AMD.

UltraNeonGaming reacted to Doobeedoo in AMD's AM4 socket has been pictured
So new AM4 socket shows to have a pin count of 1331 which is 40% increase over older AM3+ which haves 942.
It's said to have support for 3200Mhz dual channel DDR4 and up to 24 PCIe lanes depending on motherboard chipset.

That's a big increase from older platform indeed and it's using PGA as it was already known that it will. Also as far as memory and lanes details we'll have to wait.

Maybe they could've remove 3 of those 4 bulges to add 6 more pins to make it total of 1337 that'd be pro hehe.

Y'all are bae. That's why we've partnered up with Razer to give away one NEW Razer Blade 14, and one NEW Razer Blade Stealth (full specs listed in the announcement video), with a custom graphic designed by our very own Edzel Yago  .

    RULES OF THE GIVEAWAY:

    1. One entry per user. Duplicate posts and posts from duplicate accounts will be deleted before a winner is drawn, to leave one post per person.

    2. Winners will have 72 hours to respond. If a winner does not respond within that time, a new winner will be drawn.

    3. This is a worldwide giveaway with no age restrictions. Shipping costs will be covered by the shipper, but any duties/taxes/other fees upon delivery will be the sole responsibility of the winner.

Alright, now that we've got that out of the way, OMG THIS IS AWESOME HOW DO I WIN ONE???:

    1. Comment below letting us know which Razer laptop you would prefer to win. Feel free to make it fun - what would you use it for? Why do you prefer the Blade or the Blade Stealth?

    2. This is not a REQUIREMENT for entry, but you should definitely follow Razer on Twitter and subscribe to their YouTube page. In addition to providing the laptops for this awesome giveaway AND sponsoring our trip to PAX, they work with a plethora of other incredible creators in a number of spaces, and release cool content with some of them on a fairly regular basis. Please support them on social media and Tweet at them thanking them for this giveaway!!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ENTERING, AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT ON THIS CRAZY JOURNEY

    EDIT:

Alright, we have selected our winners!!!

@Plavi and @willp3, you have 72 hours to respond to the DMs I am sending you right now. If we do not receive a reply in that time, new winners will be chosen! Since both said that the Blade would be their choice, it's on a "first replied first served" basis. (for clarity - what this means is that the first winner to reply will get their choice between the two laptops, and the second winner to reply will get the laptop that the first winner did not choose. This does not mean that we're only giving away one laptop...)

    Thanks everyone.

    EDIT2:

Alright, so @Plavi has officially claimed the New Blade! Congrats on winning

But, unfortunately for @willp3, he did not respond in time to claim his prize...

Our new Blade Stealth winner is @ted542! Check your inbox, you have 72 hours to reply

    EDIT3:

Both laptops have now been claimed. Thanks for participating in this awesome giveaway, and please be sure to keep an eye out for giveaways in the future!

I will attempt this.  That is a very good point I didn't think about before.  Currently ordering one off of Amazon, because their return policy is solid.  So if that is not the issue, I can pop it back over for no money loss.

This is currently my favorite solution, seeing as it allows for only software modification.  But I can't figure out on my rig, or online how to remove the 75c cap on the CPU fan before it revs up to 100%.  If you can find out how/link me to somewhere that says how, I will gladly send the game your way.

If somebody else can link this solution first, you can have one of my other games I have lying around AND UltraNeonGaming can get his prize.  :-)

This would be the best solution so far, bar none.  But I can't see where to turn off the 75c cap in fan xpert.  At least for the CPU fan.  For all other fan headers, you can turn it off, which I have to keep my fans running at 50% no matter the temp.  Best performance/sound ratio I have found.

Voltage is good.  And the primary time it is ramping up is during COD Black ops III sessions.  Encoding does not always ramp it up.  If doing H265 it does, but H264 does not seem to put it past 50c-60c tops.  Once leveled out.  Obviously it spikes right away, but then levels out like all CPUs do.  Tonight when I get home, I will attempt a few of these solutions.  In the order posted.  And in doing so, hopefully solve my problem!  Though like I said before, the temps don't bother me.  It is the noise of the pump revving up to 100%.  I know my case is part of the reason for the higher temps, because if I pull the front/top panels off, I don't break 65 when playing.  But to do that every time is silly.  I knew the case would cause warmer temps due to the airflow being slightly restricted.  But it was worth the trade off to me.  Sound dampening is more important.

You can run the system with nothing in the CPU_Fan header. Just disable that header's monitoring within the BIOS, you can swap whatever is plugged into it to another header. Make sure you plug it into a 4-pin header as the MCP50X ramps with PWM. If you haven't already make sure the header is running in PWM mode instead of DC (change in the Q-Fan section of the BIOS). If it's already in PWM mode you can try alternating to DC and see if that gives you any kind of difference in temps.

If you wanted less noise a D5 variant with flow control would have been the way to go, and you wouldn't have to deal with PWM controls.
