djsoggy1234 got a reaction from Hackentosher in The Rc Thread
haha, i had something similar happen to my 1/5th scale, the rx pack ran out of juice, i was doing a speed run and it hits the curb then launches about a good 6-7ft and on its way up it hits my Dad's truck front bumper, lands back down on the front. i only broke the front left a-arm and bent the shock tower. this was a good 3-4 years ago

My favorite Independence Day memory was when America defeated those aliens that almost destroyed the world 20 years ago and the President gave a speech about it...

why not just get a decent charger all together for $20 more like this one and get yourself a TRX (traxxas connector) charge lead whilst your at it, plus if you ever decide to go to the lipo side of things (highly recommended imho) this does charge both nimh and lipo.
but if you don't want to do all that i'd just go with the traxxas ac-dc converter

my first and only RC is my arrma kraton had it since this last Christmas an have spent 800$ on it (340$ for the car, 300$ for lipos and a charger, and the rest in repair parts.) I have 300$ of free upgrades in it courtesy of arrma, and a 22tooth pinion gear with a stock 55tooth spur gear, i have bumpers from tbr and a savox steering servo with a novak racers glitch buster the 6s packs im running are the new turnigy graphine battery's. the diffs are blown atm and it's gonna take a machine shop to fix because the screws are locktited and I can't remove them without stripping it, before that this thing I feel could easy hit 100 mph.

So here's my RCS, first up is my vaterra Kalahari that's in bits(nicked the receiver out of it for my dx2l) and I plan to overhaul it at some point.
Second up is my MST ms01(its actually for sale rn) I bought this as to get me into drifting, but it ended up getting too repetitive for my liking, it was cool and all but wasn't for me really.
Lastly is my hpi Baja 5b (don't have a pic of it but every rc hobbyist knows what a Baja 5 looks like) it was actually my first rc but some how its in a steel box in our garage. I do plan to resurrect it at somepoint, but not right now.
Currently I've been looking at the scaler side of things, and may treat my self to one soon. So yeah that's my 'fleet'.

If the UK ends up separating itself from the EU I hope they send immigrants back home. I know my reasons are petty and fairly cruel, but I'd love to see a lot of them going back to their countries and their failed lives. [/rant]

djsoggy1234 reacted to Nuluvius in Anyone got annoying neighbours?
Where we used to live we unfortunately had to suffer communal parking. We were always getting blocked in by our shit for brains neighbour and he would also allow his shit for brains kids to lean against our cars. They also built 'obstacle courses' in the summer right up near them... The whole family were like a bunch of filthy gypsies; they had about five vehicles of varying sizes from saloons to hippie vans, all of them at least ten years old, full of garbage and filth and they were always dragging home some old clapped out heap of shit vehicle and pulling it apart all over their property. He seemed to have kids from his current partner and kids from an ex that would visit with him each weekend. All of them were little gob shits that used to enjoy mouthing off and swearing outside. We would seldom venture into our garden in the summer because we did not want to expose our two children to the dreadful language and behaviour. They would also play loud music all through the night which absolutely wrecked our kids sleep.
The final straw as it were happened one day when he allowed them to drive a ride on lawn mower around near our cars completely unsupervised and one of those little shit for brains drove it straight into the front passenger side door of my car. We moved shortly afterwards specifically to get as far away from other people as possible.
This wasn't the first place we have lived where we have had issues with other people either but it was indeed one of the worst. We never intend to live near other people again. In our experience nothing good ever comes from being racked in and packed up against loads of other people as is the case with all of these town and city council estate/new build shit holes. No thank you, never ever ever again!

djsoggy1234 reacted to Scheer in The Rc Thread
I was in and out of the hobby for pry 5-6 years, but haven't done much for the past few years since I had to grow up and buy a house which really kills the hobby time.
About a month ago I did somewhat start it up again, in the process of converting a Miss Budweiser boat to electric for my grandpa. He wants to play with it at his cabin but doesn't want to deal with the nitro engine.
My first RC was a Duratrax stadium truck, but the first one I ever spent a good amount of money on was the original Traxxas E-Maxx which was like $400 at the time. Bought some aluminum strips from Home Depot and made my own skid plates, bumpers, and servo protector. I also learned that I sucked at painting... It was supposed to be dark grey with yellow flames, but the yellow bled thru and turned most of it green.
The only nitro I ever enjoyed was a Mugen MBX4, with a STS 22 engine. I honestly don't remember ever breaking anything on it, it was extremely solid.
About that time was when brushless was becoming really popular so I ditched nitro all together and blew my entire summer savings on a Mini Revo the day it came out, plus every part I could get for it. Castle Creations brushless kit, beadlock wheels/ better tires since the original tires flew off about 50 feet away from me the first time running it with the CC kit, RPM arms, aluminum shocks, faster servos, better adjustable links... and I broke it every time I took it out, it was nothing but a money pit. Its one of the few RCs I actually sold, most are still in totes at my parents house haha.
Then I got into a micro craze, and bought some Losi Micro T, DT, and SCTs. Ended up building a CNC machine just so that I could make carbon fiber chassis for them.

That's what I've heard, they make so much power despite their torque just because they spin so fast.
From what I've seen (which wasn't much), they're pretty easy to start once they're set up.
Also, I've heard them through videos and their sound is unique, but it might be an 'acquired taste'.
