Shootureself's Achievements

  1. A mate of mine is looking at buying a new laptop for uni, has a budget of a bit over $1000 (lower is better obviously). He will want to do a bit of gaming on it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I only have my phone connection atm and am running low on data. Oh and he's not very tech minded so has only suggested pretty awful laptops. Intel + Nvidia combos are also preferred over AMD. Cheers
  2. Buy a mobo and heatsink, and finally retire my current rig to media server.
  3. Very pleasing aesthetic on those cards. Love the power efficiency on the 900/Maxwell series, will however be waiting out this generation for a the die shrink coming with Pascal for even lower power consumption.
  4. Just a reminder to any Australian students graduating this year (2012) or next year, you can grab a whole bunch of software for free from http://nsw.dec.onthehub.com. Instructions on how to redeem are in this PDF: http://www.khhs.nsw.edu.au/enews/Sept2012/2012_Grad_SOE_Student_Transfer_of_Ownership.pdf. Total worth of the copy's I received comes to approximately AUD$3535.4. Wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up on, all content is however digital download only so a lot of you will need to watch your bandwidth caps.
  5. The solid build quality and decent battery life, can't complain there.
  6. While that is true, it does not provide a fair comparison due to the quite large difference in sample sizes. (Edit: Between WD and Seagate/Hitachi)
  7. Seems to be pretty quiet every time I jump on, any idea when the Server is most active?
  8. Just got my first Mech, Shine 3, blue switches and LEDs. Amazing to type on, nice and loud. Unlucky though, missing a led :\
  9. Was toying around with a "guess bot" , Akinator (http://en.akinator.com). Thought I'd try out Linus and what'd ya know, it was right haha I wonder how big he is on the rest of the internet? Any other weird places you've found Linus/Slick?
  10. Amazing give away! You guys are ridiculously great community give awayers haha" Twitter: Shootureself: www.twitter.com/SHOOTURESELF/status/344709119132962816 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SHOOTURESELF
  11. Are LGA1150 motherboards even released yet?? Next gen top of the line CPU would be a nice upgrade from an AMD 3850 APU :P Retweet: https://twitter.com/SHOOTURESELF
