A mate of mine is looking at buying a new laptop for uni, has a budget of a bit over $1000 (lower is better obviously). He will want to do a bit of gaming on it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I only have my phone connection atm and am running low on data. Oh and he's not very tech minded so has only suggested pretty awful laptops. Intel + Nvidia combos are also preferred over AMD. Cheers -
Buy a mobo and heatsink, and finally retire my current rig to media server.

Very pleasing aesthetic on those cards. Love the power efficiency on the 900/Maxwell series, will however be waiting out this generation for a the die shrink coming with Pascal for even lower power consumption.

Total worth of the copy's I received comes to approximately AUD$3535.4. While that is true, it does not provide a fair comparison due to the quite large difference in sample sizes. (Edit: Between WD and Seagate/Hitachi)
