  1. So I recently built my PC. I have a i7 - 4790K CPU with a Noctua NH -D15 Tower Cooler on a Maximus VII formula motherboard. I am a complete newbie to over clocking and this is an initial attempt to overclock CPU. Im looking for two things: 1) Push my cpu to the absolute limit with my current setup. I understand liquid cooling allows for additional overclocking headroom but this being my first build was not too sure about a liquid loop. 2) Good overclocked setting for 24/7 running. I have only changed the CPU voltage and the multiplier in the UEFI bios. After booting into windows, I run Prime 95 for 3 minutes to ensure stability before pushing the multiplier or voltage higher. I monitor the CPU temperatures in Celsius using Real Temp GT 3.7.0. Given below are my CPU clocks and temperatures: Multiplier x42 @ 1.150 V Temps : 73 | 77 | 73 | 71 Multiplier x44 @ 1.150 V Temps: 75 | 79 | 75 | 72 Multiplier x45 @ 1.150 V Temps: 77 | 82 | 77 | 74 Multiplier x46 @ 1.150 V Temps: Failed Prime95 Multiplier x46 @ 1.175 V Temps: Failed Prime95 Multiplier x46 @ 1.20 V Temps: 84 | 89 | 84 | 80 Multiplier x47 @ 1.20 V Temps: Failed Prime95 Multiplier x47 @ 1.275 V Temps: 100 C on CPU #2 - Stopped Testing Final Result - Tested additionally with 15 Minutes of Prime95 - Stable Temperatures Multiplier x46 @ 1.20 V Temps: 86 | 91 | 86 | 82 What are my next steps? Thanks in advance. -NinjaOfSEA
