I love being called a fanboy because I'm not an intel worshiper, Intel are better yes but only slightly, deal with it.valley-3113.PNG5.2ghz-970.png

Synthetics mean nothing, since they are heavily optimized to take advantage of extra cores and threads unlike most software and games

Actually Valley is CPU bound, it's been proven time and time again, and it only uses 1 core, trust me, i've tried and tried and tried some more.

cap, valley is a single threaded prank :P

    See ^^^^^^^^

like, it doesnt *choke* on the cpu, but it defenately uses only one core, and you notice the single thread of the cpu in your score.

Oh right I see, still means nothing to me, I never think synthetics are worth looking at

  7. Benji_w

    That 3.1fps difference...

Anyway nothing wrong with the 8350, just if somebody was buying a new PC now, I would not recommend one, since cost for cost, you can get an Intel CPU for basically the same cost and currently they seem the way to go

  9. Benji_w

    Benji_w

Even in day to day performance there's no difference. I've never failed to play a game at intel fps with my 8350.

  10. Benji_w

True, I would recommend an intel but if you can get a used sabertooth and an 8350 from ebay for £180 or less like I've seen time and time again, then there is no competition...

should add, if that FX is running at 5.4GHz, thats still pretty mediocre compared to the i5 thats running a full 2GHz slower.

mind running 7zip benchmark on that thing? (both 1 thread and 8 thread, 64MB dictionary)

Also there are lots of 4670k on ebay for £100 anyway

  13. manikyath

    manikyath

^ thats mostly why i'm curious about how good the FX is doing when clocked out of its mind.

The i5 was running at 4.8ghz @manikyath and really? 2 days left on those bidding wars, don't think that it will stay at that price for long.

  15. Benji_w

    Benji_w

Valley doesn't read the turbo speed of intels for some reason, it will read the base clock though, but I use the turbo method when overclocking the i5

    manikyath

    well.. valley is old xD

beyond that, 7zip screenshots plez, i wanna see how it stacks up against my 4790k, and the "stock" 9590 someone tested for me.

    Benji_w

I'm not bothered at how fast it can unzip files, and I've got a 9590 coming from the US so I don't have to deal with the heat of the 8350 at 5ghz anymore.
