I discovered him when I first looked up how to build a gaming PC, and stumbled upon his overkill video first of all things.

The keyboard and mouse are not a big issue right now. I have a few in mind as well as headphones but they don't make a big issue in the over all performance of the machine.

I"m gonna use it for gaming (Skyrim, Witcher, Dead Space ect.) and my budget is $2,500 but I'm willing to expand that. This is more of a process build than going out any buying everything at once.

I'm just starting out figuring out what all goes into a gaming computer and I think I've got that down. Nooow I'm trying to figure out what I need compared to wha's just over priced. I do want high quality material and parts but also don't want to break the bank. Also going for high performance so I don't have to update as often. I want something that is good and will be for a while, even though things get out dated so quickly with electronics. So far I'm looking at OS: Windows 8 CPU: Intel i7 4790K - $340 Intel i5 4690K - $250 GPU: EVGA ACX Cooler Geforce GTX 780 - $530 (1 or 2? And are sound cards crucial?) Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Hero LGA - $212 MSI Z97 MPower LGA - $179 MSI Z97 PC Mate - $100 PSU: Corsair HX850 - $150 Corsair AX1200- $330 Hard Dive: WD Green 2TB - $85 Ram: I was thinking 16GB but how much do you think I need and any recommendations on brand? Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/ Window - $90 Corsair Graphite Series 760t - $190 SSD: Intel 730 - $220 and should I have 1 or 2? I'm so lost I don't know if any of this is compatible. Should I spend another $100 for a CPU cooler? I could REALLY use some advice on this since I don't know anyone who Knows about this :blush:
