I had to SLI my 970 in order to play AAA games at 60 fps., so I would say a single 970 is ok for 1k, not 2. Good luck!

Not just that, take into account, you need to buy a new mobo ,& new Ram... so it´s a pretty expensive upgrade for a very noticable increase in performance. I thought about it 2, but im staying with 4790k, at least for another year. Perhaps Pascal + new architecture from intel would be a nice combo

Im barely at 50% !!!! They should fix the HUNDREDS of bugs in the quests by the way, something are just plain annoying and have been there since day 1. Nontheless... Great news!!

Be sure to RE activate it after installing the drivers. Every new driver install automatically SETS IT OFF. GL!

All opinions are valid, as they are "personal". Though I do disagree in some of your points, I do find the recent content not of my personal taste. Take into account that Linus was on his well deserved holidays, and the guys are just trying to do their best in his abscense. The latest videos on the cams are made almost ON THE GO, edited in a hotel room after a long day of shooting... so i don´t take it as a conscius review of the product but just a quick peek at it. I own a Asus Gene VII and 2 Asus Strix 970´s in SLI, and lemme tell you that it wasn´t a smart choice. They are STACKED, and the upper card has almost no room for air flow. There´s almost a 12ºC difference between the two cards.... On full load the top one might reach 83ºC and the one at the bottom is near 65ºC. All this is built on a Corsair 350D and im using 5 SP120 fans in the case. If I had known better, iwouldn´t have gone M-ATX for sli, it´s just not that practical, and now I live paranoid due to the temperature differences. And fans on the strix, when above 70% are INSANELY LOUD. So... no , go ATX for SLI

I game on 1440p with 970 SLI, and so far FKN ZERO issues with vram or any other stuff. They both work great. Only complait is the noise the fans make over 55% (nothin that some headphones or speakers can´t handle )
