  1. Nope, my Titan X is suiting me just fine....ill wait till another Titan
  2. Found a better picture with more even lighting, I couldn't make out in the original if the two tone was a full silver chrome that was just probably reflecting the color of overhead lighting or if the chrome had a gold tinge to it. It looks like its a two tone black and gold. Though i will say the yellows are not as pronounced in this picture....might just be the individual cameras. From closer inspection and some digging it looks like there is also native 360mm radiator support, which is a nice addition as the original D frame didn't have any water-cooling support at all (save for a single 120mm rad, but im not counting that as an air cooler would be better at that point).
  3. I thought it would be like this when i bought this case but that's actually completely false, most of the dust build up in case is due to the fact you are forcing air into it to cool components, now the problem is all the particulate matter has a rather hard time filtering out unlike air which goes through even the tiniest of gaps. With my Dframe I only have two fans...and even those I dont even need them I just like the bottom fan mounts populated and there is no worry about hot spots as there is no place for heat to build up. Theres not even much of a surface area for dust to gather on, most just falls clean through. Ill admit it does not offer protection, but Im not the type that shoves the pc under a desk or runs the risk of spilling something in it.
  4. Oh hell yes, Ill buy one as soon as it comes out...it looks like they are also doing a custom PSU similar to the H Frame 2.0. Im also happy it has accents in my favorite color, not sure about the chrome, would love a flat black all over with the yellow accents. My Current D Frame Mini
  5. To that extent wouldn't you say you need a refinery infrastructure for processing oil into gas for the combustion engine? I like electric cars as they make sense from a PoF perspective. Less parts and complexity = less that can go wrong. Computers are pretty robust and can run for years without issue ( assuming software is decent), electricity is also far easier to produce then processing oil
  6. Seems lately the idea of gaming routers has been: IT HAZ MOAR ANTENNAS = MOOOAR POWWWWEER
  7. not going to cut it, you can easily spoof a MAC address, for instance you can also clear the routing table from routers, and leave your wireless open..........you could punch holes in this all day
  8. Lets be honest, they are no longer classified as potholes in PA, they are classified as HTC (Holes to China).
  9. This, was bugging the crap outta me. I can vouch for this solution. It took 3 restarts to get geforce experience to get its head out of its rear and install the drivers
  10. 5820k, 16gb Ram Desktop for when im at home working on stuff. As for on the go I swear by Lenovo T series Thinkpads......you can pry them from my cold dead claws. Why? well they have bar none the best touchpads and keyboards on any windows laptop, on the right config you can have a stupid long battery life....newer ones even have a dual battery system, best of all they build the things to last....They are designed to be taken apart, upgraded and repaired. Most thinkpads i have seen continue to work long past their usefulness. I have a T450 and love it ......before you mention it superfish never was installed on the T series laptops so the whole parinoia about that just made my favorite laptops cheaper...thanks media
  11. My little brother put tacks right below the ladder on our bunk bed ( I had top bunk). I glued his school notebook pages together Other ones include me blasting him off his feet with one of these: Most recent about 4 years ago we were playing Dance Dance revolution in a local mall......he broke his leg....that was an interesting conversation with the police, he tried doing some crazy flip for some reason to try to show off.
  12. THIS, SO MUCH THIS. The rule of thumb is if you don't want someone to know information about yourself don't put it on the net. I don't get it why everyone posts about their lives on facebook and then complains about MUY PRIVACYS. It seems the concept of leaving parts of yourself off the net died off in the 90's along with the era of dial up.
  13. I think you missed the point.......who cares it works, you make choices for what you think is best. I use mine for convenience and hosting my own site nothing more, but to each his own.
  14. How about we go the longest yard and say that every service is bad unless im hosting it myself off my own server.
  15. I typically go with Hostgator, great support and they let you do pretty much anything you want with it.
  16. There are various programs that allow you to encrypt a harddrive but if you are looking for the more diy answer. There are two primary types of encryption Symmetrical and Asymettrical cryptography. Symetrical uses one key to encryp and decrypt, Asymetical uses two. Here is some background: http://www.garykessler.net/library/crypto.html If you want to wrote your own encryption program I would reccomend using the Microsoft cryptography libraries. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa380245(v=vs.85).aspx If you want a more in depth example here is a link to my github repo that has a encryption program that I have been working on: https://github.com/Ydrgn/NCrypt
  17. I must be one of the weird ones that only plays Halo for the story........I could care less about multiplayer. I honestly think 343 has done a good job with the series..... I have read all the books, graphic novels, etc and it all ties in pretty well. That being said im buying an Xbone for Halo 5
  18. One of these, the motherboard has a 19v DC jack on the back of it, so a standard laptop power adapter is more then sufficient, Theoretical max power draw fro this entire system is 50w, keeps the size down and they are easy to find 25w TDP CPU 15w HDD 10w System
  19. I wanted to create an ultralow power server setup on a budget, however i didn't just want another black box server that sits in a corner, I decided that I wanted something that stands out a bit yet be as compact as possible, the goal was a was a server with a decent chunk of ram that could run some webservices and a game server or two. It didn't need to be an almighty power house or have load of drives, it just had to sip power and be semi-cheap. So the theme I went with was UV green with the build theme be "nuclear reactor), something that looked like those age old acrylic cases of the past. Specs: CPU: AMD 5350 AM1 APU RAM: 8gb Mushkin 2133Mhz MoBo: Asrock Am1h-itx HDD: WD Raptor 150g (found in an old storage bin still in the shrink wrap) Case: Mountain Mods Microcosm PSU:..............................19v laptop adapter OS Windows Server 2012 R2 (dreamspark is nice) The main parts, I went with the Asrock Am1H itx as it was one of the better Am1 platform boards and it had the feature of using a laptop power adapter to power the system, eliminating the need for a traditional power supply or pico psu, it was a bit pricy for AM1 but with the laptop adaapter feature it saves a bit of money in the PSU department, cost for the board was $52. I went with the 5350 as it was the fastest chip on the am1 platform and it was only $51 so why not. The actual power supply is an Insignia 90w laptop power brick, at a cost of $16 its far cheaper then any standard psu. The cougar green led fan i had lying in a box so it was a nice cost of "free". Now here is a blast from the past a WD Raptor 150g 10k rpm drive. I found this drive after cleaning out my dad's garage, suprisingly this drive has never left the box in all these years and it is still in its original shrink wrap, I remember these things being the cream of the crop when i was building my first pc.....dont know why my dad never used it. But this helps as it keeps the builds price down as I also got this for free. Now the good stuff, for the case I ordered a UV green Microcosm case from mountain mods, this little case is so tiny that there is no internal space for a powersupply, pico psu only (partially why i went for the asrock board). Now by placing the ram next to the case parts you can see where the theme is going, the ram I splurged a bit to fit the theme $60 for an 8gb kit. This case is like building a lego set Case all put together Mobo shot, man that stock heatsink is tiny, bonus next to my old trusty 8800gt, my first graphics card that I bought with my own money....it ran for many happy years but now the integrated graphics on even this apu are superior. Now it servers as my cup coaster since its a nice thin single slot. Had a buddy of mine laster cut some uv green acrylic into a 120mm fan grill, a nice nuclear radiation logo Looks quite nice mounted on the case: All put together, the ram sticks make me think of nuclear fuel rods for some reason The server next to my main rig......which is also itx formfactor (Dframe mini case), however its no contest this little box is tiny. LET THERE BE LIGHT The case was by far the most expensive part of the build, but I think it was worth every penny, $90. Bringing the grand total to $269
  20. Thats why I said $50,000 was really low, I just picked the number as it still seems like alot of money compared to other fields. (im 22, 1 college semester left and have been programming since high school. I have had job offers on the table since the middle of junior year and am already looking at 3 offers with each of them in the range of $90,000 - $130,000)
  21. What you are proposing is impossible for a person in your position.....notice I said in your position, even if you had all the resources, startup cash and talent it would still be improbable. 1. your basis on using PhP and Windows app development is incorrect. I'm assuming you have no experience with client server architecture, and if you were focused on a Microsoft stack you would be using ASP.net for both your client and website. If you don't know the technologies involved then you can't even get an effective team together. 2. There are legal ramifications for store fronts, you would need a lawyer every step of the way to make sure that you are operating your business within the bounds of the law 3. For stuff like a storefront you need the whole software suite of software architects, Programmers and QA, it needs to be secure for handing data transactions. 4. Software is expensive....I'm going to be blunt and its going to hurt, programmers and software engineers are paid top dollar in today's industry because there are simply not enough of them and the barrier to entry is a learning curve that dwarfs mount Everest. What if i told you that even the smallest app for a company is on the magnitude of $5,000+ to create it as the manhours in designing and programming it are that much. one programmer with a salary of $50,000 a year would be $26.00/hr, a small company app would run you about a month or $4166, now lets be real 50k is actually really low for alot of programmers when the average as of 2013 was $80,930. Even a small team of developers (5 people) costs $$$$$$$$$$$. With this in mind no one in there right mind does software for free.

5 months ago my friend said he didn't receive a…

Go to a line terminator at the end of a street (where a line is split up to all the houses) and then question why does anything work at all . The infrastructure for cellhpones and internet is a conglomerate of systems patchworked together that somehow magically does not burst into flames :/
  23. Hmm, this is naming number 3, first it was Zune Music, then Xbox Music, now Groove Music. I think they should stick to one name.
  24. I comment heavily because I have to depend on external resources that I have no idea how they work or what bugs they might have (large company), aka call a resource request from a particular service and parse that data in a particular way. One other think the company I work for hires a few internal programmers, alot of work gets contracted out for cheaper....so you honestly have no idea what random contractor of questionable programming knowledge you will get ( in which if someone is confused, guess who has to do that work then, so I have a high incentive to write clean code with comments that may be redundant but at least someone can pull crap like blah blah uncommented code to some manager that does not know any better to cover their own ass). Good practice and good form is nice ( alot of my side projects), however as soon as your code has to be read by other people even the best design practices and structure needs comments. To be honest if I see green lines my eyeballs will ignore it unless im having problems with figuring out what code does............... Don't even get me started when you have to work with in house architecture as well.......at that point you would wish someone would comment (many do not) Quick mockup: // This method is used in order to write data from xxx proprietary database 1 and 5.//See Internal System document XXX for more detail on integration located in the databases section Rev 2.4.1 (3/11/2013) public void WriteFile(string FilePath, byte[] Data) { //grab the name of the target file int startFileName = FilePath.LastIndexOf("\\"); //where do we want to write? string outFile = ExportFolder + FilePath.Substring(startFileName, FilePath.LastIndexOf(".") - startFileName) + FileExtension; //declare new filestream and write byte data to filestream using (FileStream outFs = new FileStream(outFile, FileMode.Create)) { outFs.Write(Data, 0, Data.Length); } } I have a PDF containing complete breakdowns that include software class diagrams and architecture views, I make sure that any system I write stays working and can be maintained with the infinite money theorem cause that's what will maintain it after I done with the first roll out. In short though all code is bad (read this if you haven't yet: http://www.stilldrinking.org/programming-sucks
