  1. Thank you. What I ended up doing was just swapping my hard drive out for my ssd in my laptop, installing Windows 7 via disc I found under a pile of boxes, updating to 8 using the key I had from ProduKey, then doing the free update to 8.1. I decided not to wipe my HDD but instead just delete all the unnecessary files I could find as I wanted a mostly fresh start on my laptop, and all my old games on my desktop without having to spend a day downloading them
  2. HI, I just built a new system and installed a 256GB Samsung 840 SSD. I bought a new SSD for my laptop as well, with the intention of using my 1TB HDD in my desktop so I don't have to transfer over new files. Now my question is, is there are way to delete windows from my HDD, install the HDD into my desktop, then install windows onto the new SSD in my laptop without having to purchase a new copy of Windows 8.1 for my laptop? If so, how would I do it? I'm sorry if I don't make sense, I am not really sure how to word my plans
  3. I already bought my card, got it for 240 I am planning that to be my first big upgrade along with RAM I used PC partpicker to get those prices. And thanks, Sum 41 is up in my favorites bands of all time
  4. Probably not actually, not a fan of any of those series.
  5. Hey I have been working on planning out my first build for a while, and I am pretty torn. I have a budget of $1000, but I want to get as low as possible without sacrificing too much performance. My build so far (theoretically for the most part): CPU Pentium G3258 $70 $70 Graphics XFX R9 290 $240 $310 Motherboard ASRock Z97 Killer $115 $425 RAM PNY XLR8 8GB $67 $492 Case NZXT S340 (Black) $70 $562 Power Supply Corsair CX 600W 80+Bronze $54 $616 Monitor LG 60hz 22" $100 $716 Heatsink be quiet! Dark Rock 3 $60 $776 Case Fans Rosewill RFA-120-RL 120mm Red Led Fan x2 $8 $784 Wireless Card Rosewill 802.11b/g/n PCI-E Card $17 $801 Keyboard Corsair Raptor K30 $33 $834 Mouse UtechSmart Venus MMO Mouse $35 $869 The components that are bolded have already been bought. I got the keyboard and the r9 290 on sale recently. The Pentium I chose purely based on the fact that I could overclock it with mostly great results, as I will mostly be gaming on this machine, so I won't need as many cores. I am unsure of my CPU cooler and my case mostly. I really want to move up to a Enthoo Pro or NZXT H440, but I am not sure I could really justify it. Same case with the cooler, I could move down to a Hyper 212 EVO, or to a similarly priced AIO liquid cooler, or even up to a H100i. Can you guys help me make up my mind or make adjustments to the build? I also don't have any storage listed because I have both SSDs and HDDs laying around my house from previous laptop upgrades and portable hard drives
  6. I personally don't like AMD GPUs. I know they can be good, but friends of mine have always had complaints, and I like the features offered by Nvidia (GeForce Experience mainly)
  7. I don't have the money for it, budget of $1200. I can list my full build if you'd like
  8. I am building a new gaming rig, and was wondering if, firstly, the card is worth the extra 50 dollars compared to 2gb versions of the GTX 760, and secondly if the Acer S220HQLAbd Black 21.5" 5ms LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor would bottle neck the card to the point where it would not be worth it to get either. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, this is my first post. Thank you
