How much watt does your power supply have and also how much ram do you currently have?

The main advantage of the 1050TI compared to the 1050 is the 4gb vram as opposed to just having 2gb on the 1050. When you run out of it, everything goes to shit. The 1050 ti is more or less 10-15% stronger than the 1050. I would really recommend that you save for the 1050ti but a 1050 is better than nothing.

First thing I would do is to try to boot without the graphic card. Use the video out from your motherboard.

Umm so you want to do all those things on your school laptop, but you also have a gaming system?
Anyway, i would just get the notebook then. The vive is nice but school is important and having the right tools for the job is a must.

Some PSU can go turn off the fan all together or be in quiet mode if it uses low power(One good reason to get a more powerful PSU).

In that case, use the money to upgrade to a Gtx 1070 rather than getting a 1060. That's a better upgrade. If you don't have an SSD, invest into that as well. And peripherals, quite possibly.

Depends on what engine you want to use. I am learning unity right now so I mainly use c sharp (c#).

I agree with the guy above, motherboard has little to no difference IF you had a overclockable CPU. The bullshit is real.

I can't find a good benchmark for the the i7-6700HQ vs i5-6287u but it should outperform the multasking by 50%.
Its a good difference in speed though single threaded performances should be about the same.

So the results are in...turns out 3 cores + HT is slightly faster at multi-threaded loads.
Single-threaded performance is the same...but since most softwares will not use hyper-threading as well as cinebench does i think it's safe to assume
that a true 4 core chip like a core i5 would perform slightly better than this overall...but for video rendering and other fully predicteable multi-threaded loads
the 3 core +HT would be just as good if not a bit better...
 
Here are the screenshots of my runs...it says 3.5ghz but it was running at 4.2ghz and all the other settings remained the same...and i'm typing this on the 3C +HT
You can see 4C +HT higher in the list the 868 was my attempt at a world record (LOL) i think this was 4.4ghz or something (My CPU is a dud)

EDIT:  Playing DOOM right now and it's the same as 4C + HT...so for gaming, defenetly not much difference between 3 or 4 cores...
 
 

You should consider what Linus wants in a phone. If I recall from his other videos, he doesn't care about removal battery in general. You can fix the app management that he complained from the video with a different launcher. I do feel that the modular phone thing is a gimmick but overall its a good phone. I would personally go with the LG G4 though to save dosh.

Why not go for the more recent Skylake build? They cost about the same and you benefit more from it. To answer your question, you should be fine for the most part. Audio editing is a cake walk unless you are planning on recording real instruments and have accuracy monitoring the sound(not needed for production). Streaming is fine but it is CPU intensive so you should probably get the more recent architecture to be on the safe side(6700k). 

Be wary about the GTX 1060's, the lower in memory for the is not the only change. The CUDA core count and texture units changed as well.

I would probably still choose the GTX 1060 though.

I have the 960GB BX200 Crucial SSD for about 8 months now. Been a happy camper. Considering that the drive you looking at is the newer version with 3D NAND, you should be fine. Hell you get a 3 year warranty, just back up your stuff(you should be anyway) if you are worried about corruption.
