  1. OK so I have solved the issue. The motherboard I am using is quite old - intel 1st gen i5-760 is running on it. I thought maybe it could have been some interference or same-trace nonsense, so I plugged my headset into the front panel USB. It works now.
  2. Corsair HS70 Wireless Some cheapo USB microphone When USB microphone in and working, headset set as default device, and selected, the playback comes through HDMI. When I disable HDMI it is just silence. Whichever device I plug in first is the one that works, and will guarantee that the other one does not work. How do I stop this from happening? I simply want to have playback through my headset while I talk through the mic.
  3. "Some other solution involving PME or some other common BIOS setting" how do I get power on by mouse/keyboard to work?
  4. It's for my mum. I want everyone to stop focusing on physical solutions. I asked specifically for one of 3 solutions, none of which involved the batteries of the mouse.
  5. I would prefer something a bit less crude. I dont want to have to take the mouse apart all the time.
  6. I have an HTPC. I want to be able to turn it on from the wireless keyboard/mouse combo. I originally had an lga775 motherboard but I couldnt get anything to work with that, which is apparently because lga775 doesnt support it. I have now just bought a ddr3 motherboard, which has a few different BIOS options - power on by keyboard, power on by mouse, USB wake from S3, and PME event wake up. I can't get "power on by X" to work. I saw some people saying it is a windows 10 issue and that windows 7 works, but I dont know if that is true or not. The wake from S3 option works BUT because of the keyboard and mouse going through the same USB, it can't differentiate the two. If either is set to enable wake in device manager, both will cause it to wake, which means any slight mouse movement wakes the PC up. I need any one of the following solutions: Get power on by mouse/keyboard to work with my wireless keyboard/mouse combo Get the USB to differentiate between mouse and keyboard such that the mouse cannot wake the system from S3 Some other solution involving PME or some other common BIOS setting Thanks
  7. are you changing settings in nvidia control panel, or in windows?
  8. having some weird issues with my keyboard. sometimes specific keys work and sometimes they don't. at one point my shift button seemed to work 4 to 7 times in a row, and then it would not work 4 to 7 times in a row. My function key is not working at all, which is very frustrating. my 8 and 9 keys work perfectly fine sometimes, but then they don't work at all later. very confusing. My laptop is Acer Aspire S. any idea where to even start with this one?
  9. I replied to Kanna referring to discord attenuation setting
  10. Please read the like 5 other comments in this thread. I have said attenuation is at 0%.
  11. it does this in everything. I want it to stop lowering on youtube videos, but even when I use discord on the browser, it still lowers volume for youtube on the same browser.
  12. Yea that's the attenuation setting, which I have set to 0%.
  13. I have Realtek High Definition Audio driver version 10.0.19041.1
  14. I have tried the discord support forums, but it doesn't seem that they have any real humans answering anybody's questions. I want discord to stop reducing the volume of everything else on my PC. I have tried setting attenuation to 0, setting the 'do nothing' setting in communications in sound settings, disallowing individual applications to take exclusive control of my speaker, I have made sure my windows 10 is up to date, and I have reinstalled the sound driver, and the discor app. This issue also accurs on the desktop version so I am guessing it is likey something to do with windows settings, but I'm not sure. It is absurd that this 'feature' is so hard to get rid of.
