  1. Hey all, I have a situation here regarding my girlfriends younger brother and his obsession with Xbox So let me explain this story: Every adult in the household works normals 9-5 jobs so we are all gone during the day. The wifi bill has been insane due to the constant wifi usage over Xbox online games. So to counter that, we are using the built in Parental Controls to set a wifi limit of 2 hours every day. There is a total of 4 children in the house and every child obeys these rules we have put into place except one. During work hours he’s connecting his Xbox and by passing parental controls implemented by me. I can see his hours he’s used for today and it’s at 8 hours. It’s not fair to every other child how they obey the rules except him. One day he got really pissed off and slipped up and said “I’ll just change the IP” So I’m thinking he’s somehow changing the IP of his Xbox to allow him wifi access. Is he actually doing this or is he doing it some other way? He has a TV, laptop, and iPhone. Could he be using these other devices to allow him wifi access? (They don’t pay for hotspot on the phone so that’s ruled out) . So my question is: How do we stop this from a technological aspect? We want the ability to block wifi access across all devices without him trying to be some 1337H4CKER by watching YouTube videos. It’s extremely frustrating and please only technology related advice and not parental advice. Trust me I tried suggesting other methods already. This guy is obsessed with Xbox and will do whatever he can to be able to play online. Thank you for your time I really appreciate to anyone who can help! I’m the most technology-literate guy in the house so they always come to me about these issues and I don’t really know what to do anymore since these parental controls are obviously not working. Attached is a screen shot of how the parental control panel looks with his devices grouped up and the play time showed Thank you!
  2. Seems like removing 1 ram stick and putting only 1 ram stick in the slot farthest away from the CPU got past the error code 55 now I'm having error code 99 ugh

  6. Hey so my computer currently isn't working, I'm having troubles starting it up, a user suggested I try to update the BIOS. I went onto the Asus website and downloaded the driver. Question is though... How do I update a mobo on a computer that wont even post? The power starts up and everything but theres no post at all, cant even get into the BIOS. How would I update the bios? Asus Maximum Hero VIII
  7. I went and bought a i7 7700k. Installed it into my Asus Hero VIII mobo. And I got an error code 62 (Installation of PCH runtime services) I googled this and it said I had to update my mobo. So I took out the i7 7700k and put back my i6 6600k and then all of a sudden Im getting an error code 55 (Memory not installed) I tried everything. I reseated the CPU, reseated the RAM, tried one ram stick. Clear CMOS. Pressed the Memok! button. My i6 was working just fine before I took it out. Now I just want it working again. Please assist me please....
  8. UGH I just bought an 8700k to after reading his first answer. He had a lot of forum posts so I thought he knew his shit. I just installed it and was wondering why the hell my computer wouldn’t start up. So I need a 7700k?

  12. Hey guys, I currently live with my parents in a 5,000 square foot home, Im pretty far from the router and my current wireless adpater just isnt cutting it. I always experience lag in games and even just streaming Netflix. Should I get this network card? Along with the Google Wifi or is that overkill? Here is what I am looking at getting: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC1900-Adapter-PCE-AC68/dp/B00F42V83C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1521143030&sr=8-2&keywords=Asus+PCE-AC68&dpID=41PoFiRfFiL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch I just cannot deal with this lag anymore Thanks guys/
