Good Websites to Spam F5 on 9/17 to get a 3080?

Same thing on my end. "extremely limited stock" would be an under statement. They probably didn't actually have any stock beyond review samples. -
Any reason I can't just unplug or remove it? Why is this a thing.

So I've been using the Windows 10 family features to limit screen time for my 11 year old son. He has discovered that certain games (Geometry Dash) can be played after his time runs out. Normally when time runs out, he is booted to the login screen, but using ALT+TAB he can still access games that are running. Somehow he can even play Geometry Dash in full screen mode! Thanks Microsoft... What is a better option for screen time management? Open to suggestions. Thanks!

I'm waiting for stock to order the Index, and in the meantime I'm wondering if my PC is ok? i7 4790k and GTX 1070. It meets the recommended specs, but what do you guys think? What is the best value GPU upgrade right now? I don't care about RTX.

You need to spend some time learning about the company! There are lots of good interview prep videos on Youtube - check them out.

I totally agree. Get an old used card for now if you must. Give it a few months and see what happens.
-
Pascal cards are getting very old. I would wait, personally.

Your setup will do OK. A lot of people think you have to be pinned at 144 fps to fully enjoy your display. Not true. You'll adjust settings to get a satisfying balance of quality and speed. Your next upgrade should probably be CPU

I have no issue with luxury products. But the reason Apple profits are soaring while sales are diminished is because their markup on the iPhone X is massive. Yes, it's a good product and worth of a high price, but currently the price is astoundingly high, and people are still going for it. Smart business move (in terms of turning a bigger profit), but it only makes me dislike Apple.

lol this is not surprising. iPhone X is a RIP OFF!

Loot Box Regulation Bill Introduced by Washington Senator
CostcoSamples replied to AlTech's topic in Tech News
I'm definitely with you on that. Loot boxes are the worst and the trend can't die fast enough! -
That is a fair point, but there is constant temptation to push the line of impartiality for financial gain. Thus it is with journalism in all industries. The more reputation you build, the more you can cash in on it. Many of the big media outlets (CNN, NYT, etc) struggle with the same thing. In many cases, their entire business model is based on building a viewer facing brand that convinces viewers they are trustworthy, while behind the scenes they don't give two seconds thought to actual ethics.

Loot Box Regulation Bill Introduced by Washington Senator
CostcoSamples replied to AlTech's topic in Tech News
Fine, I'll grant you that point. But what does it have to do with the government? What legitimate role could government possibly play here? Should they now be responsible to regulate video game content production? In so doing we would find prices skyrocket, quality diminish, innovation stifled. -

Typical. Government officials just can't keep their greedy paws off anything cool or interesting. That's a nice little game feature you got there, it'd be a shame if something were to happen to it... -
Arrests and prison sentences to be handed out to Chinese PUBG cheaters
CostcoSamples replied to Mattson's topic in Tech News
It's up to the game devs to control cheating. Throwing video game cheaters in prison is pure communist evil. -
Ethereum: R9 390 faster than 1070?!
CostcoSamples replied to CostcoSamples's topic in Folding@home, Boinc, and Coin Mining
Yes, good point. At least power here is relatively cheap. -
I have two gaming rigs, one with GTX 1070 and one with R9 390. I decided to put them both to work on Ethereum mining. My 1070 gets about 26Mh/s and my 390 gets 29Mh/s. This was rather shocking to me! I can see why AMD cards are so popular among miners. For fun, I put my laptop to work as well (GTX 970m) and it gets about 1 to 2 Mh/s. Is this normal?

Everybody has their own definition of what is 'worth it'. We are not talking about Intel graphics, we are talking about a GTX 1060. It will run OK, and check youtube videos for what to expect. lots of examples available.

Linus did a video about 4k on mid level hardware a couple years ago. Basically you can run it on a GTX 970 and it does OK. Obviously you have to turn down settings, but depending on the game, your 1060 3GB can run it. 3GB is not great for 4k though - generally you want more video memory for higher resolution.
