I got the phone recently as an upgrade from my M7 which has started getting slower. The M9 is very fast, Excellent at multitasking and just feels much smoother. The camera received an update the day after i got the phone, I didn't get it on release, it is now much better. I especially love the front camera even though I'm not into selfies that much, It's especially good for video calling. The 4k video recording is 4K (duh) and looks amazing.

I have yet to put an SD card into the phone, i have the 32gb version which is enough for now. The buttons on the bottom can be rearranged which I love. The Wifi receiver is impressive on both the 2Ghz and 5ghz networks, they have great distance New functionality includes recognising when you are at home and having a customish home page where the phone will adapt to the apps you use most while in the location you marked as home, I quite like this as it actually shows the apps I use most (not a gimic). The sound is amazing as per usual and really its an improvement of the M7 which was a beast so no drawbacks there.

My phone came with the fast charger in the UK so it depends where you are but the battery lasts be a day and a half which pretty extreme use (watching videos, listening to music, whatsapp, web browsing and emails as well as calls and texts) however the recharge time is actually mind blowing I got from 3% to 80% in about 15 mins I don't know if its the charger or what but its amazeballs.I had to choose between this phone and the s6(edge cause of the edge haha). I chose this one cause I'm pretty comfortable with the sense OS and I find it easy to use, so really its up to you but the phone itself is a win. It does overheat a bit when playing stressful games or watching shows on netflix but as far as I've heard its just the new snapdragon CPUs' fault.

Overall its been about a week and a bit and I'm loving the phone so far so I'd say go for it.

On a side not about the battery life. I run with the power saver mode on pretty much permanently. As far as I can tell from doing this on the M7 and now the M9 the only drawback noticeable difference is that putting the screen brightness up all the way doesn't make it as bright. According to the phone CPU usage is more conservative and it limits the network usage a bit, but I don't notice this so it depends on your personal usage.

If you're into taking allot of pictures, and or appreciate good quality pictures. I'd say that is not the phone you'd be looking for.

It works great in performance and sound quality! That overheating thing is a little exaggerated. Only buy it as mentioned before sound and performance not screen quality or picture quality since the kings right now are the S6 and G4 to come.

Yea, the S6 looks like a very attractive phone without looking at reviews. I've heard that most of Touchwiz's problems are fixed and the design is more in line with the ideal phone that I would like (premium build quality, physical button on the front of the phone to wake the phone), sans the huge screen.

It felt quite comfortable and reassuring in the hand, I didn't notice it slipping at all, although it might a little if I had a sweaty hand. The only part that was anywhere near uncomfortable was the lip on the side, although it felt more like the M7 which was quite a nice feeling sharp edge to it, not uncomfortable just might need a day or two to get fully used to. The screen size as great, coming from a 4" screened phone I enjoyed the size of the M9. The HTC bezel at the bottom of the screen is a little annoying, but necessary if they're going to have the size of the speakers they do have.Besides the tips icons which can be turned off, I personally don't like the scroll down app draw, I much prefer the side swipe app draw, although that's just personal preference. Otherwise I couldn't find anything to really complain about, even blink feed worked lightning fast, far quicker than Samsungs version, even on the S6 which I've also tried out.

I have used the One Plus One and it's a great phone, I had the HTC One M8 and it was a fantastic phone with great battery life after I flashed Google Play ROM onto it also had great speakers but a meh camera. I currently have the Nexus 6 and am really loving the phone. I can't speak too much for the M9 but the lack of Google Play Version bothers me. I got my hands on the LG Gflex 2 a month ago and I didn't really like it, the software still needs work so...

But I would wait until more reviews of the M9 come out before I would consider it

One plus is cheap and good
Nexus 6 is fantastic but huge
you have a lot of options
hope my insane ramblings help <3

I've had a go of the M9 for about 10 minutes in my nearest carphone warehouse. Nice looking and feeling device, the speakers are as ever excellent and I didn't feel it getting too warm. It was quick and very responsive, although I kept getting the annoying tips icons appearing all the time as it's a retail demo unit. If you need another phone with good sound quality the sony Xperia Z3 is meant to have good quality sound, especially as it has the walkman music player and a number of audio boosting features. If you can afford a one M9 then go for it though, as it's an outstanding device.

Personally I think the Droid turbo is a terrible phone, it's the opposite of what technology is. Stuffing a big battery to compensate for the incredible power draw of the quad hd display, the slow quad core, and the unoptimized software only to have it last a little longer than other phones means that it's a poor product. Motorola also markets how fast it can charge, well, good luck with your battery 1 year later once the warranty runs out- a fast charge is one of the surest way to kill your battery. After watching Linus' video of the Droid Turbo (a very flawed one at that), it was apparent that the software was not very refined, he had around 25% battery left at the end of the day (his testing methodology wasn't shown), and it's only for Verizon, but all Verizon LTE phones are fully unlocked, just the radios might not support your region's carriers.
