wyattzx got a reaction from AlTech in Windows 10 Testers Now Get "GSOD"
Why the hell is there an ad at the beginning of this post? That should be reportable.

wyattzx got a reaction from 0x1e in Asus DIP5 Destroyed my PC
If your RAM is 3200mhz, then the strap needed to be raised, meaning a 45 multiplier was way higher than 4.5ghz, and probably closer to... 5.6ghz.
Outside of that, have you tried to reset the BIOS by removing your CMOS battery?

wyattzx got a reaction from Tech Wizard in Kraken X61 Question
Yes.
I have the NZXT Kraken x61, and I have mine set to white. That being said, because it's an RGB light, and apparently a poor one at that, the "white" is actually really blue looking, to the point I'd say it's more of a cyan than anything. I've confirmed it's not just my model, either, and all units suffer from this. So while technically you can set it to pure white, it will look blue.

wyattzx got a reaction from AlTech in Video quality change?
Unfortunately no, this is not possible. There's simply a lack of data, and scaling a video up to HD will only stretch the existing pixels. You could get somewhere by scaling it up and applying some sharpness tweaks to the footage, but that's not going to be worth much.
TL;DR: No, not really.

wyattzx got a reaction from GoodBytes in What are these files and it is safe to delete them?
They're likely just temporary files left over after a driver update. It looks like nothing has been done with them since the 26th of October, so I'd say it's safe to delete them. If anything bad happens, it's only likely to be drivers issues that would be fixed with a clean driver install, and that's worst case. More likely than not, you can just delete them.

wyattzx got a reaction from SCHISCHKA in Newly-discovered Windows vulnerability affects all versions of Windows, with no fix in sight.
This is not getting the attention it deserves, and I apologize if this isn't the "right section" for it, but this is big.
Source(s):
[thehackernews] [reddit]
Apologies for the lack of a header image, but I didn't want to use a generic stock photo. What do you guys think? This is not a hoax, as the source code to recreate the vulnerability is supplied in a link from the reddit comments, and users have demonstrated the vulnerability inside of VMs.
Thoughts?

60TB?! That's absolutely insane! I don't care if it takes five-ten years for this to reach consumer level. The fact that we're reaching these sorts of densities already is absolutely incredible. I... I don't know what to say. This is absolutely crazy, guys.
Thoughts?

Damn it. I looked up and down and up and down and up and down that list to make sure. I guess when your title isn't straight to the point, it's easier to miss. My bad.

wyattzx got a reaction from Iron Knickers in Are there actually that many "editors"? All the workstations.
I've always wondered this.
A lot of the time, you'll see people posting PCPartPicker lists, claiming "This is a gaming / video editing build. Opinions?" It happens so much, and yet you never see a single piece of content from any of these individuals, and as it stands the editor scene is kind of barren. If you exclude "FRAPS -> Vegas Movie Studio w/templates -> YouTube" anyways. Actual editors and content creators are far and few between, and often-times the builds people tout are for exactly this. Nobody will shame you for wanting 32GB of RAM so that you can boast to your friends. Just say it so that nobody suggests a Quadro / FirePro GPU or X99 build. The i7-6700k is the best chip right now for gaming, but we still see X99 builds because they specified video editing as one of the main reasons for the build.
I'm an actual video editor and content creator, and I've been editing / creating videos for almost ten years now. I've had an active channel for four years this coming November, and I use up every bit of my RAM and CPU with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

wyattzx got a reaction from Dabombinable in Fallout
Fallout 3 offered me a lot more content than I ever got out of Fallout 4. Plus, the modding community is much larger, and the game will run on a wider variety of hardware. I wouldn't pick up Fallout 4 unless you can score it for $30 or less.
That being said, you should also consider picking up Fallout: New Vegas. Although I think Fallout 3 is a better game, a lot of people really came to love New Vegas, and as such there's a larger variety of mods, and objectively from a gameplay point of view, New Vegas fixes a lot of 3's mistakes.

wyattzx got a reaction from mikat in Laptop HDD in new build desktop
Using the HDD from your laptop might throw up issues in Windows regarding drivers and such, so I wouldn't advise it. However, you can get Windows 7 / 8 (and 8.1) for as cheap as $15, though legitimate sources. If you're interested, PM me. I don't think /r/microsoftsoftwareswap is against the rules here, but just in case, I'll keep it to PMs.

wyattzx got a reaction from Insirion in Mic just for skyping while gaming.
I would definitely recommend and endorse investing in a Blue Snowball or something similar. The mic quality is fantastic, and they can be had for as little as $30 now. The tri-pod it comes with is also a nice touch, and the multiple audio patterns really helps to configure it best to fit your setup.
If you don't wish to spend $30-50, then I'd recommend you get something like the Zalman Zm-Mic from Amazon. It's an $8 clip-on microphone that sounds fantastic for the price, but the only caveat is that it's a low-sensitivity mic, so you have to boost the gain on it really high, resulting in a lot of background noise.
