  1. True... I was thinking that the 4770 will last me atleast 2 more gpu upgrades before i replace it... The windows transferring issue btwn motherboards for windows 10 is still unknown to me (idk how to do it xD) Im planning to sit on 1080p till 4k becomes the norm! So the u2414h is gonna be my buddy for awhile Ah TDP is the limit! It isnt a measurement of how much heat it produces underload My 4770 usually boost to it's turbo boost speeds all of the time tho... and it does operate pretty hot under load (65c~) So i always thought that locked CPUs always operates at it's turbo speeds
  2. Hmmm.. Fair point. But at boost (usually the cpu operates with turbo boost 100% of the time anyways) there's only a 200mhz diff... Is that alot? Nothing! Im using it just curious on whether the unlocked cpus are worth it 200mhz is massive? Would you pay 40% more just to get the overclockability? Wait isnt TDP how much heat it produces? Then shouldnt the 6700 have a larger headroom with a smaller TDP?
  3. It doesnt matter. Your ram will just run in the slowest ram speeds Try clearing CMOS
  4. You can see that a stock i7 6700k (basically a locked i7 then) is = to i5 6600k at 4.5ghz
  5. reseat* Plug your ram into different slots If you fully populated your ram slots just take like 2 corresponding ones out and see if your pc turns on. You could also try resetting CMOS
  6. Is it actually worth it to get an unlocked CPU? It seems like locked processors is where the bang for the buck is at... Eg. for nearly the same price you can either get 1. i5 unlocked + z-series mobo + high end cooler 2. i7 locked + h-series mobo + 212evo I believe that the i7 locked will still outperform the i5 unlocked in most cases as well... Especially in my country where the price premium for the K-series CPUs and z-series mobos are like a good 40% above their locked counterparts Thoughts on unlocked processors?
  7. Turn off main switch to PC(like the wall socket), reseat ram, wait like a minute or 2, turn it back on
  8. 290x is the stronger card. But rx470 is newer and doesnt have the chance to poop out on you due to possible mining. Besides i think you'll appreciate a card that isnt a heater in Australia I would recoomend rx470
  9. What happens when you have a non-OEM windows 10 key (upgraded from windows 8.1) and decide to change motherboard/cpu?
  10. Fractal design define S? It's my dream case
  11. I did try opening the case and seeing only a 2c drop in temps tho....
  12. the evga g2 850w is too big for a bottom intake D: I do have a 80mm fan that is able to fit tho... Should i install it?
  13. Get H-series motherboard and pour more money into GPU Get a seasonic PSU or anything better Get kingston value ram and get $$ into better gpu aswell
  14. 2 filtered intakes (1 stock case fan + 1 quiet edition SP120) running at 100% at all times in the front 2 top exhaust high performance SP 120s which ramps up to 50% when gpu reaches above 65c, otherwise it is off 1 rear exhaust stock case fan which ramps up to 50% when gpu reaches above 65c, otherwise it is off
  15. Do you too? I sweat like crazy even at home
  16. So 82c is actually good for 32c ambient?
  17. My 290x idles at 55c D: I cant even imagine a blower style with this card
  18. Im running a tri-x! Yeap D: Is it bad now? :C In what ambient? My current ambient temps are 32c!~
  19. 290x vs gtx 480? Which is the hotter card? But i usually see in benchmarks they only go up to 70~c D:
  20. Really? I thought it was like scalding hot! so 82c is actually fine?
  21. How are these temps? Of course with respect to the clock speeds is it reasonable?
