  1. Hi everybody, I have to upgrade my mom's vaio SVE1513Q1ESI, adding an ssd and taking the ram up to 8GB, starting from 4. No need to ask anything about SSD, as it's an easy choice, I'm asking a little help with ram. I have found (thanks to crucial's tool) that the laptop would be compatible with this: http://www.amazon.it...PC3-14900 1.35V But I've seen that the ram stick that's already in the laptop is 1.5V, while the stick I'd buy is 1.35. Now, could i run into some compatibility issues? Or would i damage the MB by mixing the rams, as i know it's not always the best idea? If it's a problem, as the ram stick is very old and i haven't found nothing on amazon, should i get 2x4gb ram sticks? and if so, are these good? http://www.amazon.it...sodimm 4gb 1600 I'm leaving some screens of CPU-Z, in case you would need them. Thanks BTW, the ssd is this http://www.amazon.it...perx savage ssd

  3. @GoodBytes Actually I want to have it, and I think maybe it'd work if I create it and i set it to 0... the only thing is that I can't find the personalization folder
  4. http://www.howtogeek.com/128306/how-to-disable-the-animations-on-the-windows-8-start-screen/ @SubTract look at this
  5. Ahahah, i like it instead! I even run 144Hz, so it's smoothy btw I don't know what's happening, I just found out that this happens only when I'm not logged in...
  6. Hi everybody, I've just installed Windows 8.1 on my new computer, which I've assembled. I noticed that in the login, when it's shown the photo, when I press space, enter, left mouse or whatever there's no animation (photo goes up and shows the username and password), unless I just drag the image up which, of course, it's not the best thing to do on a desktop PC. What could I do? This thing is driving me crazy. PS: I've already tried sfc /scannow...
  7. Hi everybody. For Christmas I've just bought some components to build my PC. I've chosen an i5 4690K, which'll be cooled with a Noctua NH-U9B SE2... With the cooler comes the aftermarket notcua's thermal paste. I'm writing this post to ask how I should put the thermal paste on the CPU, if I should do the "line" method or I should spread it all over the cpu. PS: merry christmas
  8. Hi everybody, I have a pc here (not mine), an HP pre-assembled one that has Windows 7 on it. The driver of the usb (2.0) seems not to work and I wouldn't be here writing this post if there was everything but usb where to plug keyboards/mice... So I'm asking you if there are other ways to install a drive without formatting (I repeat, that's not mine)... Thank you Siro
  9. So it's obvious the best choice is the 970 Thank you But one other thing: by know, what's the best model?
  10. Hey everybody... As you obviously know, Nvidia just released the 980 and the 970... I'm going to build a Pc, and I had chosen a Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X, that had a lower price than the 780 and was almost as good as. But since now the prices will drop, I was considering the 780/780TI from Nvidia, as I'd prefer to buy a "green team" card, as there are a few benefits as better software, and so on... What GPU should I get? And if I should go for Nvidia, could you link me some Amazon offers? Remember that if I have to change my mind I have to spend the money I'd spend for the 290... By the way, here's the configuration: Intel i5 4690K ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 4GB Corsair 8 GB 1600MHz (2x4GB) Low Profile Blue Samsung 840 Evo 250GB WD Caviar Blue 1TB Noctua NH-U9B SE2 XFX XXX Edition 650W NZXT Phantom 410 Asus VG248QE 24" 144Hz 1ms Monitor Thank you for your help
  11. I think I'll choose the Asus VG248QE, thanks to everyone!
  12. Actually I'm looking at something that is at least 1920x1080, and 120hz min... If it's possible, of course with an acceptable price
  13. Hey guys, I'm planning to build a PC and I have to find a good PC monitor... I'm on a tight budget, so I can't spend much money, but I also wanna find a beast I'm gonna use a Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 as GPU... Could you suggest something? Thanks
