  1. Hello everyone So nobody in my family has any clue about tech and I manage most of the stuff. Recently, my mum came to me wishing for a new laptop for work in the 500-800 price range. She just needs to run office programs so I don't need anything powerful. I already purchased an SSD for her old laptop a while ago. My question is whether I could just buy a cheaper laptop with a HDD and replace it with the SSD without losing the licensed Windows key. This worked with my 2012 Samsung ultrabook that had the license key saved on a seperate cache SSD on the MB. Not sure if it's the same today and with which models. I have a few ideas but don't generally know much about the laptop market. Any suggestions?
  2. Thanks for the suggesstion, unfortunately it didnt help, still got crashes.
  3. So I managed to install an older driver after all, the only other one with Win 10 TP support released on 6/22. Driver crashes still occur, no progress.
  4. That's nice. Doesn't help me much though. I just checked Windows Update (I had automatic updates disabled), found an update for AMD drivers, did it but changed nothing. Still the same driver crashes.
  5. So I re-installed 15.7.1 again and 3DMark worked this time, I managed to get a valid result with Firestrike and Firestrike Extreme. When I played Distance, it crashed after 4 minutes though. So far I haven't found a way to install older drivers.
  6. Now this is funny. I found downloads for older drivers but whenever I want to install it, the list only gives me CCC and AMD Gaming Evolved App to install, no display or audio drivers. Those only appear in the latest 15.7.1 Win 10 64bit driver. No older drivers for me it seems. Sigh.
  7. Well, it directs me to the AMD support page when I try to DL it, and there I can only find the latest driver which I am not interested in. Does anyone actually have a DL link for older AMD drivers? I can't seem to find any.
  8. Should I try this one? http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/amd-catalyst-15-7-driver-download.html
  9. Yes, I have used DDU, only to replace my old Win7 drivers with the latest Win10 ones, which I first thought to be the root of the problem, the crashes continued though, so I ruled that out. Which old driver would you suggest me downloading then?
  10. Sooo, at the end of June I got one of the few Fury Xs they actually sold in my country (to this date all major retailers still don't have any more in stock). At this time I already knew I had an unstable OS (frequent but random BSODs, sometimes right after boot, sometimes after 4 hour of uptime), thus I installed a new OS 2 weeks ago, also upgraded to Win 10 and did a number of other hardware changes. BSODs have gone away, but ever since then my Fury X has caused constant display driver crashes. I've ruled out other components since the system was stable on an R9 290. RAM and OS were also swapped at one point. So far I have experienced the 'AMD display driver crashed and has recovered' in the following situations: - normal browsing, sometimes, very random - Witcher 3 after 30-45mins - Distance after 1-10mins - SpaceEngine after 15secs - 3DMark FireStrike benchmark during the second graphics test - World of Tanks after 1-2 battles More things I will test in the upcoming days. I have already made a request for RMA at my retailer, but I'm looking for you guys' opinion on the matter too, what I should do etc. Thanks a lot in advance.
  11. Hello everyone, I am using a Corsair Force GS 128GB as my boot drive and am considering the option of adding another one for a RAID 0 array. I have a few concerns however: how much trouble is it adding a new SSD (of the same model obviously) to one that's already in use as a boot drive? Are there any notable differences in reliability and longevity between various models and how stupid an idea would it be to use two Corsair GS 128GB (http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Series-2-5-Inch-Controller-CSSD-F128GBGS-BK/dp/B00ABE3RFA) in RAID 0? Thank you for any advice.
  12. Well... you got your point across quite unambiguously. I'm steering clear of Roccat audio products then.
  13. That's an idea, however I wanna try out other stuff and I also would like to get a pair which have tangle-resistant cables. Got an eye on the JBL Synchros S200a right now. They're about 73$ in my shop with a UVP of 149$ which is a crazy price reduction. Reviews are pretty positive, does it look like a good idea?
  14. Sup, So I'm in the market for a pair of new headphones for the purpose of listening to music on my way to uni and work. So far I've been using a pair of Philips SHE9000 (http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHE9000-28-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B004JU0E3A) are absolutely wonderful with great bass and isolation as well as comfort. Sadly, they're at risk of breaking on the connector because I once pulled a little too hard when it was connected to an audio splitter. They're still working perfectly fine, but I'd like to have a good replacement ready when they decide to die. I've had my eyes on the Roccat Syva (http://www.amazon.com/ROCCAT-Performance-In-Ear-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00IPDK2B6), which are pretty cheap, got mostly positive reviews, but its negative points often seem to be the unreliable quality. I own a Roccat keyboard, which has fantastic build quality, which is why I decided to go for that brand again. Now I'm however kind of in doubt whether it's best to go for Roccat when it comes to audio devices - probably not. Anyway, anyone tried them? Are they any good? How's the sound? If you think it's a crappy product, what would you recommend instead? (I've already stated the intended uses, my price range is 80-100$ max). Thanks in advance.
