    Keep the hyper 212 evo.
When your temperatures are stopping you from oc'ing further , but you want more? Buy the noctua nh d15.
If looks are big concern, buy the nzxt kraken x61.
Putting noctua fans on it will improve temps even more, but only for a few degrees.
And at the end of the day, you are paying 40 bucks for 2 noctua fans. If money is not an issue, go for the noctua fans. If money is an issue, then by all means don't buy them.

VincentiusIV got a reaction from R3dd1ngt0n in Best PC for adobe programs
Since Adobe software primarily makes use of CPU power and RAM capacity, this may be an area worth upgrading.
I would recommend upgrading the CPU and Motherboard to something like a i5 6600k and an ASUS / MSI / Gigabyte motherboard that has the features you need. Reason for these three brands is because I've had experience with products of those companies in the past, and they have never disappointed me and many other customers.

With the i5 6600k, you also will make the jump to DDR4 RAM, so you will have to upgrade that aswell. Prices for DDR4 have gone down dramatically, and are only a little bit more expensive than the older DDR3. While you make this jump, you can go for a larger capacity, that will make multitasking way easier.

The video card is fine, though if you do get into gaming/play more intensive games in the future you can drop in a newer graphics card that won't be bottlenecked by the CPU.

I see you already have a very good SSD, so no upgrade options for storage.

VincentiusIV got a reaction from elcoug in First custom loop. I think i'm on the right track.
As for pump, I highly recommend using just one D5. People don't realize how powerful these pumps actually are, especially the D5. It is more than capable of driving your loop. They are also quieter , and have a much longer lifespan then their younger brothers such as de DDC.

Since you might be a little limited in terms of space in that case, you might want to consider a pump+res combo so you don't have to figure out where to mount your pump (especially if you take a duo D5 pump). Don't know too much about this case, so you will have to figure out where to mount those.

Speaking of manufacturer, you can never go wrong with EKWB. They are the best when looking for quality and design. I never used Bitspower fittings, since they are overpriced IMO, but I've heard (and seen :P)  great things about them and experts such as Singularity Computers and JayzTwoCents recommend them as well.

Since this is your first loop, and I see you are doing hard line tubing, I recommend you ordering a little more tubing then you actually need (so you can re-do a bend in case you screw up or something like that). And take your time, that's most important.

The links you provided don't work for me, but a double check on the inner and outer diameter of the fittings and tubing can never hurt

I can't see anything you are doing wrong.

VincentiusIV got a reaction from sushisharkjl in Will it increase performance?
Motherboards and coolers are not going to give you any better performance.

What they will give you is potentially better overclocking results, which will increase performance in some games.

VincentiusIV got a reaction from suchamoneypit in WaterCooling a Sapphire R9 390 NITRO Card
What he means is, is that the SAPPHIRE nitro edition does not have a custom PCB. Meaning you can just use the reference version of the waterblock on this card.

VincentiusIV got a reaction from cgtechuk in WaterCooling a Sapphire R9 390 NITRO Card
So, I quickly scouted all r9 390 nitro reviews about a custom pcb... None of the articles mention it, while a custom pcb is most of the time a major selling point.

However, judging from alphacools compatibility page with gpu waterblocks, I wouldn't take the risk of buying the reference design.
EKWB had announced in public that they wouldn't make a waterblock for the nitro card, which suggests that it's different from the reference design.

    TL:DR
Alphacool's waterblock is the only option.

VincentiusIV got a reaction from TidaLWaveZ in Cost of a Full Custom Liquid Build
I currently have a watercooling loop, cooling the CPU, 1 GPU and the motherboard (maximus vii formula) with 2x 480mm rads , d5 pump+res combo and soft tubing.

Total cost was around 700-800 euro's.

It really depends on what components you choose, how many things have to be cooled, how many rads will you use.
Judging by your part list, i would assume something with a similar cost.

Also, whatever you do, the d5 pump is worth it. The DDC pumps tend to die faster (gathered from user reviews) while d5's just live on for years. (Linus approves aswell :P)

Installed the BeQuiet Pure Wings 2 fans and slotted the motherboard tray back into its place.
These fans are amazing even for Aquacomputer radiators, super silent and high airflow.

Installed the D5 pump using the Bitspower D5 Mod kit.
Measured, marked the holes using a pencil and drilled those holes to mount the D5 combo.

The kit is consists of the following:
    - Bitspower D5 Pump Top(Acrylic)
    - Bitspower D5 Pump Cover
    - Bitspower Mounting Kit

This kit is really useful and secure when mounted - there's also a rubber pad on each of the mounting kit to absorb any vibrations from the D5 pump
during running conditions. The D5 pump wires will be sleeved later on.

Another shot of it from this angle. Looks pretty good.. Loving the acrylic D5 top.

For the reservoirs, we'll be using the Bitspower Water Tank Z-Multi 250MM Cylindrical Tank Reservoir.
Here's a shot of them after being washed.

Only mounted one of the reservoirs as I only had one extra male-male adapter. Waiting for Barrow fittings to arrive later this week.

The primary and one of the SSD's in this build, the Samsung 950 Pro 512GB NVME M.2 SSD.
With a sequential read of up to 2,500 MB/sec, its hard not to resist not choosing it as the main drive in this build.
This unit was specially ordered since no one here in Malaysia keeps stock for this.
After hearing that the read/write speeds thermal throttles after a few minutes of transfer, we planned to cool this bad boy by custom mounting a 40MM fan right beside it later on.

Thanks again  for viewing guys, hope to update you soon when more stuff arrives.

The Lumia 950 / 950 XL does not need any drivers. I don't know what you downloaded and installed. How do I know? I have the Lumia 950 XL.

The issue is with your USB 3.0. I am not sure today, but in the early days of USB 3.0, sadly, many motherboard manufactures used crappy (even the fancy model, I have fallen on that), inexpensive, USB 3.0 controllers, that are also poorly supported by the actual manufacture of the controller (probably due to the low cost), so it doesn't like all devices.

But, you can cover your basis by:
-> Connect the phone to another computer with USB 3.0. This is to make sure that the cable is not faulty (remember that the USB 3.0 is USB 2.0 with extra pins/wires, so one of them related to the USB 3,0 might be broken.
-> Connect the phone to your Intel USB 3.0 controller (if you have one), or to another USB 3.0 controller if your system has a second, different, controller, and see if that works.

This is a pretty nasty bug, and the game is extremely popular as it launches in less than 2 weeks(currently in closed beta). Figured I'd get the news out here so that anyone considering playing it knows to play in Borderless, and NOT fullscreen. For those affected, all you gotta do is change your system's monitor settings to fix it.
