Ikea Galant desk. It comes in parts so you can build it however you like. Thanks! I use the top left one for media i.e. music player, netflix, plex, youtube. I use the bottom left one for messengers or irc on the left half, then skype, teamspeak, MobaXTerm, or WinSCP on the right half. The center one I split half and half when working because it's 1440p. Left half is PHPStorm, right half is the website I'm working on. Top left monitor switches between media and reference when I'm working.

Alright, guys. I just spent 3 hours taking apart my entire battlestation and putting it back together with some serious cable management. Lots of routing, over 50 zip ties used here. Mounted my Router and Switch to the underside of the desk with some painting-hanging grade adhesive stuff. The Modem is on the floor next to one of the power strips because of the location of the line drop, can't move that. All the cables are routed with either zip ties or sticky cable loops and then zip ties. The only visible cables are running into the outlet. BEFORE: AFTER: Let me know what you guys think!

Yeah, was getting some IKEA Signa cable management racks to mount on the underside of the desk but they never showed up Not at all. I used to strain my eyes when looking at the screens with the lights off before I got the LED's. None of them are directly visible from sitting position, they splash on the walls around the desk and throw light onto the desk so I can see what I'm doing without having my overhead lights on. When I first moved, I bought a cheap 100GBP chair like this one but from some chinese manufacturer and it lasted me about 5 uncomfortable months before I had snapped some of the more poorly made components, torn up the wheels with my carpet, and torn through the arm wrests of the chair with my elbows. I haven't had a single issue with this chair, I love it so much and would buy it again in a heartbeat. I bought mine for around $430 USD. Yeah, they're nice and soft and actually make it easier to see stuff in my room without the overhead lights on, also I can turn them off with the remote from my bed so right before my head hits the pillow I can turn the lights out. I bought them on Amazon UK here - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00H7T7XA2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage You can get them on US amazon too I think. They were GBP 16.70 when I bought them.

Well, I'm at 54 million now and I think that's where my journey will end. My massive server cluster configuration broke somehow and I just don't have the time to go through all 8 of them, fix the issue, and fix my image Good luck to the rest of you!~
  8. Lol, you can't search a db when it's in a .dmp format without importing the whole thing or parsing a search on a 7+ gig file while it's stored in your memory.
  9. You couldn't. It took me 3.5 hours to import just the email dump which has like 4 columns and 37 million rows. One of the other dumps has like 45 columns and is 12.9GB uncompressed on it's own. That'd take almost 3 days to import on a FX8350, 32GB Ram, WD Red Pro server, let alone a rpi.
  10. Well, there is a row in the DB that says whether a user's email has been verified in the dumps I've seen. I'll snap a pic when I'm home.

    Noob question

Yup, remember, even Raid 1 doesn't mean you're "backing up" your data. In raid 1, if you get a virus and you don't have logical backups on your freeNAS, that virus will be on both clones of the data. The whole purpose of having 'backup disks' in a raid is for hardware failure. If all you need is speed, and you're okay with a little downtime to restore data when a drive fails, raid 0 and a home NAS is your golden ticket.

10 US cents more for 64GB more space in a USB thumb drive

That's probably because it's been partitioned and you keep formatting the 200mb partition. Formatting a partition doesn't make it bigger, you have to clean the partition table and initialize a new partition that takes up all available space.

    LTT Storage Rankings

Thanks, It took a bit of convincing that it was worth it. For a bit of more detail: One of the 4TB drives is being used as torrent space, so active torrents go there. I copy the completed torrent files over to one of the other 4TB drives which is mirrored to another 4TB drive, that's where my organized plex media files are stored. The last 4TB is just for local backups. I keep a few days/weeks of backups locally, and they push to cloud backup from the server so you can backup locally, don't have to leave ur laptop/desktop running for like 12 hours, then the server does all the uploading after it gets a local copy.
  14. A bit too pricey for me... Huge fan, bummed I can't go.

    linus new hq isp

I'm sure there's something wrong here, their website has inconsistencies all over it. If you tab over to the 'business internet' page, you get a bunch of confusing wording and such there too.

Windows 10's Internet Edge VS Google Chrome

I think the major draw to chrome for me is the amazing set of tools for web developers and designers. Once MS brings that to edge, I'd happily jump ship if they show a performance increase.
  20. Ignore him, dude. He's an obvious troll.
  21. It became a Nexon game in 2005, it was originally developed in 2003 in tandem with both wizet and nexon. The game had Nexon's hand in it way before it 'turned into literal hell'. I'd say it got ruined around the 2011-2012 era. Also, please don't use 'literal' if you mean 'figurative'. Thanks

How fast is the LTT member's internet connection?

5 MB/s is still within reason fora 47 Mbit connection. You don't expect to get the exact speed you see in a speedtest when downloading stuff.

Slower speed on Ethernet than wireless

Probably reiterating at this point but I'm pretty sure his/her computer did not have a gigabit ethernet port on it, only 100 Mbit

Windows 10 Speakers Coming From Monitor?

There has to be volume or something. Your monitor wouldn't have speakers with no control over them.

Do you understand the difference between MB/s and Mb/s?
