xtasemusic got a reaction from Eschew in How to reduce windows 10 size and some tips
VIDEO TIPS \ TUTORIAL written below
WRITTEN TUTORIAL \ TIPS
5 ( really its 6 but click bait ) Ways to Save Space in Windows ! ( Some at your own risk )
Alrighty bois lets get crackin’. sans the crack. …do crack people even say that ? anyways watch the first 30 seconds of the video for a possible laugh. ( depends on your humour ) I bought an 250gb NVME SSD and it brought me back to the days when I had a 64gb SSD and was starving for space. I found a few p osts back then that helped me reduce that windows 7 install to the smallest amount possible and here is my rundown on how to do it in Win 10 with explanations as to what these things do. Disable system protection. Now this first one is going to be for the people like me who clone their drives into a different drive every so often or those who want to live life like true kings on the edge of losing everything. Also those who are confident in their ability to keep a system clean. its very simple STEP 1 - go to file explorer STEP 2 - right click on “This PC” on the list to the left of that window. STEP 3 - click on properties STEP 4 - Click on System Protection STEP 5 - Click on the drive for which protection is ON STEP 6 - Click on configure STEP 7 - Check the “Disable system protection” Radio button ( thats the little circle checkbox ) STEP 8 - Click on delete on the bottom right of that window STEP 9 - Click apply and close this window. This will Delete any restore points for windows which means if your PC ever crashes you will need to repair with a USB or the recovery partition and start fresh with a new windows install 2. No Paging Files This one is controversial. Paging files is like an extension of your RAM. When your ram is overflowing it moves it to a part of your Hard Drive ( or SSD ). the good thing about paging files is that it is a good “ blanket solution to prevent your system locking up or even crashing when your ram is full since it utilizes the boot drive ( normally larger than ram … i mean if your ram is bigger than your boot … you life a crazy life ) as overflow. Personally , I have 16-32gb in my system and I manage the windows I keep open. for example , if I want to edit a video , I make sure I don't have 36 chrome tabs with 16 youtube videos loaded and 10 po.. pinterest tabs open as I'm editing the video thus managing the ram. if you’re like me and like to clean up whats open once in a while , here is how to disable it. STEP 1 - Go to file explorer STEP 2 - right click on “This PC” on the list to the left of that window. STEP 3 - click on properties STEP 4 - Click on advanced system settings STEP 5 - Under performance , Click on settings STEP 6 - Click on the Advanced tab STEP 7 - Under virtual memory Click on change STEP 8 - Uncheck “Automatically manage Paging File Size for all drives” STEP 9 - Click on “No paging file” radio button ( Little circle checkbox ) STEP 10 - Click “Set” then “ OK “ Keep in mind that if you have a lot of ram ~24+ this could be very useful ( I have 32 ). Just as an FYI I’ve never had paging file size on on my systems since my 64gb SSD days ( running on 7 years ) and I’ve been fine. while the computer crashed once or twice it never damaged my windows install .. I guess its at your own risk. 3. Disable Hibernate This is helpful for desktops. Laptops too with a little downside. This simply removes the hibernate section your computer reserves. out of all the options I'm mentioning this will free up the most space at ~ 10gb. the only caveat I see is that you will no longer be able to hibernate. Useful for desktops, but for laptops , this could be a downside since your computer will keep using battery power when the lid is closed instead of going into hibernate and stop sippin’ that precious e-juice. to do it STEP 1 - Search for “Command Prompt” after clicking the windows button on the bottom right. STEP 2 - right click it and choose “Run as admin” missing this step will not allow the next one STEP 3 - type in “PowerCFG -h off” Without the quotes STEP 4 - exit command prompt ( little x dude ) STEP 5 - SAVING$ lets go to step 4. 4. Use CompactOS CompactOS is a way that windows compresses some part of the system to save space. Personally I let windows decide if it wants it for my system or not ( it does it automatically for you ). to check if CompactOS is on , go to the aforementioned command prompt, but type in “Compact.exe /CompactOS:Query” without quotes. this will let you know if you have it. to enable compactOS STEP 1 - Search for “Command Prompt” after clicking the windows button on the bottom right. STEP 2 - right click it and choose “Run as admin” missing this step will not allow the next one STEP 3 - Type in Compact.exe /CompactOS:Always to disable follow step 1-2 but at step 3 , type in Compact.exe /CompactOS:Never This really isn't worth it for systems with 250gb of memory and up but on those cheap laptops with 64GB of eMMC storage , this can save a little over 3gb. 5. Limit your recycling bin Now this isn't a way to bring back memory but more a way to manage it. by doing these steps: STEP 1 - Right click recycling bin STEP 2 - Click properties STEP 3 - Change the custom size to 2048 or under. this will help manage the amount of stuff you delete. Personally I just permanently delete what i don't want by pressing SHIFT DELETE on my keyboard while the file is selected. that way , I don't need to empty the recycling bin… like ever. 6. Storage Sense Storage sense seems to be something new in Win10 where windows can dynamically free up space by getting rid of files you don't need, like temporary files and content in your recycle bin. STEP 1 - Type Storage in curtana or after clicking the windows icon on the bottom left. STEP 2 - Click on storage STEP 3 - Scroll down and turn “Storage Sense” On with the toggle switch. to free up space now : STEP 4 - Click on Change how we free up space under the aforementioned toggle switch STEP 5 - Click on “CLEAN NOW” This will delete files that have been in the bin for over 30 days and get rid of temporary files. neat. Honestly , I’ve been running with step 1 to 3 for a few years and never really had an issue since I'm always backed up , and with a 250gb NVME SSD , I'm sure to have capacity issues with todays file size and with all the YT videos I make. Hopefully you’ve enjoyed reading , PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I SHOULD ADD ANY WARNINGS OR ANY TIPS YOU MIGHT HAVE TO SAVE SPACE ! SPACE ! -

xtasemusic got a reaction from Fasauceome in YouTube Outage
Youtube , went , down. As I was writing this text , it had been about 30 minutes since the mogul that controls our ears and eyes had perished. Error 500 was appearing on most of my open youtube tabs. The dark snow of invalid ID videos would engulf my screen ohh god , no. I decided to type in youtube.com in a futile attempt to make things work but things went blank. Too blank. No titles , no thumbnails , No view count. We were doomed. I Rushed to twitter to see if the official youtube account had something to say about this but no. We were in the dark ages.

xtasemusic got a reaction from Canada EH in 32gb DDR4 2400 at 249$ ? ( Plz remove )
I know , I have the same kit OC'ed to 2666mhz . the kit is still a steal. literally yesterday it was at 320$ and even at that price it was the lowest priced ram on newegg CA. Also for people who need large amounts of ram for Zero renders in large timelines , its their most budget bet available right now.

Thanks a lot for chiming in , I changed the description to let ppeople know to not disable it completely but change the amount to something more sensible. around 16mb to 2048mb. I've personally never needed the pagefile and never really had an issue , but I see how a system with 8-16gb might see an issue here and there.

xtasemusic got a reaction from mech in Budget bluetooth speaker = Budget quality ? -AUKEY SK-M18 outdoor wireless speaker
VIDEO REVIEW : (Written Below)
WRITTEN REVIEW :
Hey, its almost christmas so what about a gift you could give to yourself , or a gift that you want to give to someone you dont really care about because clearly if you cared about them you would have bought their gift sooner.
--------
Snows here and today we’re reviewing the Aukey outdoor / indoor wireless speaker also known as the aukey SK-M18.
As you can see ( in the video ) , it has a freakish resemblance to a very large can of soup , or to the AXESS tube speaker or to the Mental Beats tube speaker. Well its because they are made from the same design !
lets give it a physical inspection. On one side we have a 4 inch subwoofer and on the other side flanking the buttons and input we have 2 smaller speaker. You have 3 ways of playing music through the speakers, bluetooth for some wirefree goodness, Radio for some reason and the typical AUX input for some appropriate earrape.
For the controls you have some media button and a mode change button to go from bluetooth to radio. The aux will always have priority over the 2 wireless methods so keep that in mind. You also have a handle and a shoulder strap to look like a doofus outside. Or to hang it somewhere.
Honestly , when I looked at it for the first time , I thought it would kick ass because of its shape , the bazooka like figure it has make it feel powerful but I was disappointed to say the least.
Alright so lets jump into sound quality.
The 2 speakers are 2W strong and the woofer is 7W weak. The sound is very unidirectional for each side which means that if you walk around it , you will always have more bass on one side and more highs on the other which honestly is a not so great experience when listening to it. The best place to put it in my testing is in a time out… let me explain. Put it in the corner of a room facing the sub or the tweeters to the corner and you will have balanced sound through the room but the problem is that its not consistent throught its whole volume range.
I get it , its hard to make a speaker sound consistent from its lowest to its highest volume but the problem is that at 11W its not really powerful for its size. The highs sound tinny and the low end is just weak.
In conclusion , if you’re a tiny bit into sound quality dont buy this speaker , but the Tronsmart E6 its better , just a little more moneys and its much smaller , about 30% the size of the aukey.
Thanks for reading and Subscribe to my channel if you’re so inclined , I’ve got some cool stuff coming.

xtasemusic got a reaction from WereCat in RGB fans that dont light the fan ? Azza Hurricane RGB lite Review
VIDEO REVIEW ( written below ):
WRITTEN REVIEW :
I promise I will not be punning.
The Azza Hurricane RGB Lite.
In the box :
3 RGB fans
1 RF remote
1 Molex to RGB cable ( 4pin )
Fairly priced at 39$USD the fans take an interesting approach to LED lighting on fans.
Yes we have RGB , yes it still blows air but the way the lighting is implemented is quite different from other brands.
Instead of lighting the hub like the SP series from corsair , or lighting the whole front like their HD series AZZA lights up the exterior frame of the fans leaving the blades dark and honestly… i think it's for the better.
The blades have this snowflake design on them which honestly feels a little off but according to their website “Special grooves carved into the fan blades help reduce noise levels up to ten percent!”. Honestly I don't really consider snowflakes grooves but I can roll with it for now. The frame on the other hand has a feature called “Shark Teeth” which is supposed to create a vortex of air that is more focused. Here is where i think all these feature lower the performance of the fans, the shark teeth are placed directly behind the blades, combine that with thick hub spokes to route the wire to the 4 LED wires and the extension to one of the spokes for the hub motor wire and you get a lot of resistance behind the fans.
In my testing, just a piece of paper stuck to the top of the fan , it performs pretty well against other generic case fans but when you put it against any other performance fans it does fall behind a little. With its 1500 rpm + 47cfm I would not recommend this fan to be against a 120mm radiator if you want to overclock.
Now my review so far seems pretty negative so let me lighten it up with some of its positives.
Its gorgeous ( look at my B-roll ), honestly the look of these fans is definitely different from those from other manufacturer. Its RGB ( duh ) and it has a RF remote ( yay for not having to point the remote wherever you hid that IR sensor ). With the remote , it can technically cycle through all 16mil some colours but the static colour options are limited to 7. You can actually connect the RGB of the fans to your motherboard if it supports it since it uses a good ol 4 pin RGB connector. The connector is also daisy chainable to other RGB devices i.e : RGB strips and It has rubber dampeners.
I'm going to keep this review short since , well it's a fan review.
Buy these fans if :
-you have a RGB compatible motherboard
-you want a different look from good ol corsair’s look
-you are going to use them as case fans
-you are going to put them on a 240mm radiator or on an air cooler
I'm still working on my written review skills, i'm having a lot of trouble with syntaxe but I won't get better unless I write some and get some feedback, so feedback away below if you want ! and watch the video if you can !

xtasemusic reacted to Oshino Shinobu in NVME or SSD as boot & Scratch disk ?
NVMe will have basically no benefit over normal SATA for booting and OS use, but will provide a benefit as a scratch disk, so you should have the OS on the SATA SSD and the NVMe drive as a scratch disk.
EDIT: Also, NVMe drives are also SSDs BTW. The difference is SATA and NVMe.

xtasemusic reacted to Princess Luna in NVME or SSD as boot & Scratch disk ?
Windows on its own does not benefit from NVMe at all over going SATA 3, so I'd actually use the SATA 3 for boot and only use the NVMe for the actual professional workloads.

xtasemusic reacted to jasonvp in NVME or SSD as boot & Scratch disk ?
I agree with what's written above. I have a dual-purpose system: gaming and editing. And for my system, it makes a lot of sense to have the applications on the fastest drive possible due to loading large(r) maps in games. But if you're just editing with the system, keep the OS and apps on an SATA3 SSD and put the data you'll be working with on the NVMe. Your editing will scream that way.

An NVMe drive is an SSD, so I assume you're talking about SATA SSDs vs. NVMe SSDs?

Wanting a specific look can be a b***h lol, I wanted a white theme myself and that was the only board(think it may even still be the only white board) available, but then i saw the reviews and figured i could live without a white board

xtasemusic reacted to TVwazhere in RGB fans that dont light the fan ? Azza Hurricane RGB lite Review
I think what I like most about these is the fact that you can can control them independently with a remote if you dont have an RGB ecosystem, or you can sync them with the rest of your build if you do. And while I'm not sold on the performance of the fans themselves, for $40 three RGB fans is pretty good

xtasemusic got a reaction from Mordhaus in Question about upcoming build
not really doable. windows will default to the 1080ti. you can have them both in the system but you cant really switch from one to the other in an application specific manner. also , no you cannot SLI a 1080ti with anything else than another 1080ti. nvidia SLI doesnt allow anything but two identical cards to SLI. having 2 different cards is usually used only for rendering or mining .
-
xtasemusic got a reaction from Mordhaus in Question about upcoming build
What you can do , is setup the second card for physX. connecting the extra monitors to the 1050ti will not affect the 1080ti. and the 1080ti can actually help with physX.
