  1. Here goes my entry: The last time I built a computer was in 2009, so it's definitely been time for an upgrade. Back in the day, 3DGameMan was the top reviewer, but he wouldn't release videos very often. I've been so surprised at the quality content that has come out in the last 5 years, and Linus's videos were a beacon for me. They've definitely raised the bar when it comes to PC tech videos, and I look forward to watching his new video every day to learn about new products. Thank you very much Linus + Team, you've helped me out a lot and taught me a lot as well .
  2. Did any of you all see the pictures posted by Corsair today? K65(TKL) RGB confirmed! https://www.facebook.com/Corsair/photos/a.838167819556641.1073741949.179235105449919/838275872879169/?type=1&permPage=1 https://www.facebook.com/Corsair/photos/a.838167819556641.1073741949.179235105449919/838167926223297/?type=1&permPage=1

I don't follow tech news that much, so this was news to me. Thanks for the post!
  4. ^^^ Was just about to post the facebook post as well. https://www.facebook.com/CorsairGaming/photos/a.535001896576005.1073741825.135448616531337/666206246788902/?type=1
  5. @Maxwit44 Nice case man. Any chance I can get a pic of the case as well? The guts are sweet, but I'd like to see the whole package
  6. Hmm... I think you all won me over on the phanteks as well! Now the question is... White or black? I'm thinking white since the motherboard I'm most likely getting is black, and the same goes with almost all of my components. I think the contrast would be more striking, and look cooler .
  7. @Faceman Thanks for the suggestion! I saw this case, and saw that it was really good. The only thing I'm not sure of is the fact that it's a full tower, and I'm not sure how sound-proof it is. This upcoming year I am going to be living with a roomate, and I don't want my PC to be too loud.
  8. Definitely going to get the MX Blue Switch version of this when it comes out.
  9. Thanks again so much for everything man. Pretty much going with this build, except I'm going to keep the fractal r4 to get a total of $1110.53. Cool, thanks for the input .
  10. I would prefer the two terabytes of storage. Since I do video-editing, I tend to need the hard-drive space to hold large video files. You can make a mock-build with a 1TB HDD if you would like though. Just letting you know, that I don't do that much extensive gaming, so I think the 280 would be enough for my usage. By the way, I sent you a message regarding the Micro-center bundle deal.
  11. @Faceman Thanks for all the advice and helpful videos, I'll be sure to check them out. I have one last question, if I decide to not get another graphics card down the line to use in Crossfire, what PSU would you recommend? I would want some extra power however; to comfortably add a water-cooling system if I so choose later down the road. Would something like a 600-650 watt PSU be a good choice for that(if so, any specific PSUs you recommend).
  12. Oh, and one more quick question. On the PC-parts picker website, there's this warning. What does it mean exactly? Will any problems come up? Compatibility Notes The G.Skill Trident X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell Refresh CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.
  13. That's awesome to hear. I just checked, and unfortunately, the closest micro-center does NOT have the processor in stock. How long does it usually take micro-center to restock it's items? Also, could you please link to the micro-center deal itself? The processor store page says nothing about a combo-deal in-store: http://www.microcenter.com/product/434177/Core_i5-4690K_35GHz_LGA_1150_Boxed_Processor Again, thank you very much for the help.
