Switch 2.1 and Switch 1.1 should have a link between them which would improve network redundancy.

There's something in your context menu that has been recently added that is causing the slowdown. That, or broken links (e.g. inaccessible mapped network drive shortcut) on your desktop are known to cause issues such as these.

i have a right angle screwdriver which will allow me to get it "taught" and Torqued down properly

do you have any other advise other than not to do it.  i have 2 broken drives that have the same data on it, and i might as well try.

i am planning on making a small clean room with the 3 stage air filter i have.
also i seen a few videos Youtube and the people did not use a clean room, just a clean table and it worked.

i did, then the drive broke again, so before i go and spend another $1000 i might as well try.

You can install it on many devices, aslong as you dont get caught. Same goes with Office, just get on the phone and make up some excuse on why you are using the same key.

Accidentx13 got a reaction from Castdeath97 in Need help troubleshooting my miserable DSL
Not going to go into major detail for it. But if you call your ISP too check the congestion on your current DSLAM, they are entitled to if asked to move your line to a less congested one, freeing up congestion and yourself getting bandwidth down the line.

You can also ask them to check the line to see if there is any issues with the line.  They can check the line and can tell you exactly what is on your line and the condition of it to pin point a fault. They do track where your line passess through like, how many service pits there are, how many cabients there are are e.t.c to distinguish what line performance you should be getting at the demarcation point (demarcation point is the point to your house the ISP stops at, like your home modem ADSL point)

Port rebuild is a process ISP's take to reconfigure your DSLAM. Basically flashes/retrains your DSLAM.

The modern DSLAM can be monitored remotely now, unlike the old ones where a tech had to go on site to check it.

sfc runs from CMD. CMD has a lot of hidden tools to use to repair your computer. Now days younger generation rely on software to do what CMD is doing.

Yeah, you gotta boot into UEFI for that, btu even then, it can be turned off if one wishes and isn't always the default. I like it though, nicer seeing a manufacturer splash than the Windows logo.

The problem is aesthetics, lol. If you have the option to never seen the Windows boots screen (with their logo), why see it? Windows 8 changed so much from 7, it's definitely worth looking into.

From the sounds of things, your NTFS table for that section is dead... which means the pointers for everything are broken, or gone. Rebuilding the data is possible, but not with any free-ware I know of, so consider that data gone for the most part. Of course, there is a massive chance someone knows a lot more than I do, and could know of a way to get it back.

Use the cooler than didnt come with the CPU for testing due to testing your cooler. Also use your motherboard box if you dont have a test station. Nail polish remover works good instead of isopropyl alcohol if you have none. Use thermal compond that is either preapplied or apply some yourself

A Plex and file server doesn't need great specs. If I were you I would spend the money on the drives and buy a used mobo and cpu combo off ebay or something.

I have a FreeNas server that is used for storage and media serving. It runs a general cross platform file server, Plex server, TeamSpeak server, Transmission server, Time Machine server and within a Windows VM a barely used Arma 3 and Terraria server. It runs an i7 860s, 16GB of RAM and rarely exceeds 14% CPU usage. In fact the stats show that on average 99.79% of the CPU stays inactive! RAM is a different story though. On average only 1.1GB of RAM is inactive, but thats due to how the ZFS filesystem works. Depending on what OS you run your results may vary.

I agree with some of your tips, however RAID shouldn't be done. The computer will take probably a couple more seconds to initialize the RAID which will actually add to the boot time.

Autoruns is definitely worth a shot, allows you to remove things from startup (and scheduled tasks) really easily:
