    Why not use Disk management or disk part ? Repairing it via the CD would be the best start !

    Dont restore, restore will cause further issues. Suggest you try boot into safe mode and run sfc /scannow. Also try uninstall java completely and any other updates from that day.

    I would suggest upgrading the modem to something better. Something using 300Mbps N or AC, gigabit lan ports, dual antennas and a broadcom chip.

    Probably best to take out the HDD and copy over your data. Then try get the boot options open and try Last Known Good Configurations or safe mode. If safe mode, run cmd as admin and run sfc /scannow.
