  1. Also, i3 4GB RAM instead of 8GB....http://www.mwave.com.au/product/hp-250-g2-g0r80pa-156-core-i3-4gb-500gb-dvd-windows-8-ab54503
  2. Well the i3 well be buckets tonne better than pentium. So if the review likes the current config, then the i3 one will be better.
  3. Well can you ping the server from the workstation/desktop ?
  4. Found one, http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-HP-250-G2-F0Z00EA-Notebook.112321.0.html
  5. Yes, how is the configuration set on the router/modem ? Change your router/modem to dynamic to get an address from ISP and see if that resolves your issue. Sounds like there might be an DNS issue.
  6. Are the servers from the games being passed through the router/modem ? So are you using DDNS ?
  7. Best paid one is cisco or sonicwall. Free though is microsoft......."free" as in routing and remote control on server os...."free" :-p
  8. RAID 0 firstly. SSD is normally fast and some manufacturers have a software to do trimming which improves flash memory e.t.c Give that a go to see if you can optimize your SSD. You can use autoruns from the sysinternals suit or CCleaner to limit the startup. Other than that. tweak the hell out of services to limit what starts up and what doesnt.
  9. What has sparked this ? What were you doing to have this caused.? Normally a sfc /scannow can resolve this if not I need to know more about the issue escalation and error code
  10. WD Blue is great for a home user and failrly cheap. If you want internal storage type drive, WD Red. Hence why they use them in home NAS's.Never go WD Green fyi
  11. Or use the DLINK range extender. Plugs into the wall socket
  12. Then go into bios and unlock it, then try boot too cd
  13. ........................................................................So you got the CD then ? Shove that into the DVD/CD drive an boot from it...............Then do the startup repair and sfc /scannow from CMD
  14. If you have a CD, boot from that and use it too repair your system. If not try as many function keys as you can from F5 to F12 as I dont know your manufacturer of your computer/laptop. Windows 8 if installed correctly should have a repair function to restore itself. You can always change the bios from UEFI to legacy to get the option of the advanced boot options (black screen) too repair your system
  15. Ah, well are you running Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 ?
  16. Have you tried start up repair ? If you can get the amazing boot options black screen, then try safe mode with networking. If that boots then open CMD and run sfrc /scannow and chkdsk /r
  17. Ummmm, BSOD will be in event viewer, always under "WARNING" in the system sub folder. So start there.
  18. Best to start from the top, what is the BSOD error code you get ? You can get this by repeatedly pressing F8 till you get a black screen with boot options. Then select disable automatic restart. This will then load windows normally and crash at BSOD and give the error code.
  19. What may have happened is that image while burning became corrupt. I have seen this happen quite a lot. Best thing to do if you got another computer to use or laptop is too extract the image from the CD and use an usb to import the image (ISO) onto it. Then try boot from USB. If that dont work that there is an issue with hardware.
  20. Firstly, I have had an similar issue to this. When you burnt the CD what write speed did you do it at ? Also what software did you burn the Win 8.1 on ? Did you use an ISO or a copy of an original CD ?.
  21. Yeah but I am using LACP and a gigabit switch. Wireless will never match the awesomeness of gigabit LAN. None the less, get a LAN nic over wireless nic...more is better. Just get a stupidly good wireless modem/router to broadcast your network.
  22. Range extender by D-LINK will help, or any range extender. Can get some power point plug in ones
  23. Spiceworks is what I use for one client, but it does more than just monitor network data usage.
  24. Also is used to seperate your network, but normally used for teaming.
  25. Exactly, it would only benefit if you had fibre to your house or streaming games around your house. My backbone to my home network is 2Gbps.
