  1. Best thing is too get an electrican to trace the cables in the house and test them before doing something on the lines of just plugging in the powerline. Most people never do this and I have seen walls burnt due to this

Yeah I stick to helping those who need in the areas I am skilled in, so if I get 3 its fine really
  3. Or build an actual pc running Windows on it instead of killing the mac running bootcamp. Give that a go

Only 3 for me after an 10 hour work day....
  6. Sadly I think the best thing is too back up all the data and completly wipe it (like every partition and sector or just get a new HDD) and re install the OS. Your key can be easy retrieved and for the OS, its easy to download now days
  7. SFTP is the way to go like IdeaStormer says. Ideally you could use a VPN to a storage device attached to your hm network. If you get a Qnap or Synology NAS you will be set. They come with some sweet features to tweak.
  8. Server on board RAID has never been arse. In fact I have a server running at work that does nothing but WSUS running RAID 5, server 2008 R2 on a Server 2003 board. Consumer boards with on board RAID is okay for RAID 0 + 1. For best RAID, go PCI-E card
  9. Learn to root your phone like I have, best thing I ever did.
  10. Or you can sysprep your system which doesnt use the drivers currently installed. Just use the CD that came with the system. BUT normally you will be fine due the fact you are using another motherboard and not HDD. If a new HDD then yeah get the key and OS or use Windows easy transfer. I do syspreps all the time so yeah, that is my best bet
  11. Its my stage name when I was doing music full time. Kind of stuck as I am accident prone.
  12. Have you updated the bios on the board ? How old is the board, if under warranty get it replaced.
  13. Have you considered maybe getting it replaced under warranty ? There is a reason why they give it to buyers.
  14. What is the error code you get for the BSOD, this will help find a solution.
  15. Haha true, but you can get an software to change your boot logo though....so there is that..hahaha
  16. Well I didnt vote for the wing nut, in fact cause he was elected I lost my job at Telstra.
  17. Cat5e is still used everywhere and it goes up to 1Gbps. The tighter the twists in the cable are the better the cable.
  18. sfc runs from CMD. CMD has a lot of hidden tools to use to repair your computer. Now days younger generation rely on software to do what CMD is doing.
  19. Why is this a problem then ? As long as windows boots who cares ? I really need to learn more WIndows 8, too old school here.
  20. Thats fine, keep me posted if you get an error code. I would suggest doing windows updates or sfc /scannow
  21. If you press F8 like your gonna break it while the system boots before the windows load screen you should get an adacanced boot option. Select "Disable automatic restart" This will give you time to view the whole BSOD when it pops up. Event viewer is in admin tools in control panel.
  22. Might want to check event viewer to find any log files that can give more details. Have you got the latest drivers ? Run sfc /scannow now to resolve any issues with system files. What BSOD error code did you get or are getting ?
  23. Have you tried re installing Java ? Dont go messing with Registry as you can cause further issues. Programs and software store information (like user data and program settings) in Program Data folder. So have you looked there ?
