One thing I've noticed... Firefox eats more ram than Chrome honestly. I mean I'm liking the UI a bit more, I just wished it didn't eat so much ram and I only have ublock origin and lastpass and enhanced steam

FFQ uses little to no ram BUT it offloads ram and sometimes it's just missing some fucking features.
-
@wcreek Yes, they're the same thing. I have the same issue as you. Have you tried reducing the number of processes? I found that helped slightly, but I've never been able to keep it to one even when I set it there; there's always 2.
@themctipers Unfortunately, that's not true in call cases. FFQ uses just as much RAM as the last version for me.

Im working with 8GB so it using more ram than chrome is less than ideal. I mean it's not getting to the point where I'm running out of ram but I'd rather it not use more ram.
Tbh though, the biggest push to get more ram would be from Just Cause 3. Even with 8GB being the recommended amount of ram, it still says that it's not enough.

8gb is terrible
8gb is only for like... nothing
windows boots up with 2-4GB of ram usage.
8gb was the standard in 2011, 8gb is the standard in 2018...

@Cinnabar Sonar I'm using Opera right now and looking at all processes, its using 2.3GB~ with 10 tabs open and three extensions (G translate, LTT and Stylish) so...I don't think you could really call it that light on RAM?
@themctipers I'm sure you'd like my laptop with 2GB soldered and 8GB Sodimm...
-
both with 9 tabs open, alright that's not too bad then I mean, yeah FF is using a little more than Chrome but I've made it look nicer than Chrome lol
-
Haha that's still pretty abysmal. Have you tried reducing the number of instances?
