Hey all, I currently use a GTX 970 in my 1950X rig as my 980 Ti died and im waiting for the 2080 Ti. BTW i did not get a 1950X for gaming, that is a secondary thing. I was building a workstation for uni and i found 1950X for only £500. In battlefield 4 GPU usage fluctuates between 95-98% at 1080p. Is this a reasonable amount of usage I have a Acer XB272 240Hz monitor

UPDATE: managed to successfully overclock the RAM from 2133 to 2666. Seen a decent improvement already

Hey all. I have recently built my 1950X rig. All running stable at 4Ghz with load temps of 60C. However, ive noticed my CPU is getting lower benchmark scores than other systems. I have an 8GB 2133Mhz kit of RAM installed. My cinebench score is 2933 multi core and 149 single core. My geekbench score is 4000 single 20000 multi core Is it the RAM thats holding my CPU back?

Sorry I should have mentioned this earlier, I have a G SYNC monitor, so o would prefer NVIDIA

Hey all, ‘I sent off my threadripper system to be built by a local IT company as I didn’t want to have any problems with my replacement Zenith Extreme. They called me up today to say that the CPU and motherboard work fine this time and that it boots into BIOS. However, the system does not post when my 980 Ti is in. It must be dead as it gives off a high pitched click which is the sound of capacitors. There is honestly no point buying an expensive card right now as I will save up for the GTX 1180. Therefore are there any good used cards on eBay for up to and around £100 that will be good?

I didn’t touch the Center part which is the capacitors and power delivery but as you can see there are finger marks on the bottom edges

Hey there, I had to install my carriee frame on my 1950X I've noticed I have a couple of light finger marks on the edges of the bottom after installing Will the CPU be OK or is it dead?

I built my threadripper system today and I think my mobo is DOA. When I opened up the board, I noticed I had bent pins in the lower left corner of the TR4 socket even before I installed a CPU. it also took a lot of force to install my 1950X. Ive heard it’s something to do with bad Foxconn sockets apparently. the RGB lights come on but nothing happens when I press either my case power or internal start button do you think this is the issue and what should I do?

I am actually going to install it on a new 250GB Samsung 970 Evo as my boot drive only has 10GB left and is 120GB drive. I have my 8.1 key handy. Am I all set?

Hey all, I have ran into a problem because my X99 system failed due to the motherboard not working and so I am upgrading to treadripper. However, I have not got the licence key for my copy of Windows 10 Pro because I upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro i don’t know what to do, what will happen if I reinstall Windows 10 as I’m afraid it won’t recognise my PC. I am reusing everything except CPU amd mobo as the rest of the components work what st should I do? I have a free copy of Windows 10 Education with my uni, should I use that instead?
