  1. Most of Youtube tech is just stations trying to bait users into clicking their amazon links. Just garbage reviews of 'trendy' items.
  2. I do think its a fair point that no criticism was aimed at Razor or the Dell XPS13 for its lack of 32gb options. They certainly didn't warrant additional videos lambasting them for the reduced memory. Especially since Linus uses one...
  3. Depends what you mean by professionals really. What industry specifically are you talking about? Maybe not IT professionals (although I bet most will do just fine with 16gb ram, not everyone has to run 5 vms at once). Apple would have endless data on the actual use cases for their systems. They would know how much ram people need and how many people purchase ram updates. My bet is simply that 32gb ram is needed by such a small niche the compromises in size and/or battery life weren't worth it.
  4. I think its fairly obvious its not good for gaming, its not marketed at gaming and the word "pro" never even implies gaming.
  5. Its still pretty common for 8/16gb to be the maximum amount of ram anyway. As far as I can tell the Razor Blade isn't available with any more than 16gb and if I go to Dells website I can't see any options to configure the XPS13 with over 8gb of memory. I'm not sure what all of these ultrabook sized laptops with 32gb of ram or more are.
  6. The Air is dead and has been for some time. There are two options now, the Macbook, or the Pro. The Macbook being the ultra portable, the Pro being the mainstream.
  7. The thing is its unclear what "Pro" means. I'm a professional and use my Macbook Pro every day. I'm not in IT or Graphic Design, does that mean I'm not deemed a professional? Regardless of what the current anti-hype about thinness and lightness says, a thinner/lighter machine is nicer to carry around on a daily basis and I would really welcome this upgrade compared to my 2014 MBP, which I never use the SD port on. Its got a well powered CPU in what I consider an excellent compromise for thinness vs structural rigidity and strength. Not to mention the quality of the keyboard, trackpad, speakers etc. I'd much rather pay a couple hundred more for Apple build quality than buy cheap plastic from many of the Windows OEMs. And yes I'm a professional who is perfectly fine with 8gb of memory.
  8. This video strikes me as pandering to the "PC MASTER RACE LOL APPLE" demographic.
  9. Also as per the 'huge battery vs thinnness' I think 10h per charge is the right amount from a productivity standpoint. That means you can go all day at work. These days most modern laptops charge via USB-C so you can easily buy a large battery bank if you want more portable life.
  10. Why is this amount of flex acceptable in such high end devices? Macbooks don't flex, at least not under normal use.
  11. I've often wondered with these drops, are they selling them at near loss or something? Why so few units. They obviously sold out of 5000 overnight, why not get 100,000 worth of stock?
  12. Great, and I'd love to buy some. But none available...
  13. I don't really get manufacturers not including filters everywhere. I went and added after market DECMI ones to my case as there were several 'open air' holes including the top. It made a huge difference, I basically never have to think about cleaning it now as high quality fan filters stop most of thee dust.
  14. I've never really gotten the purpose of 17 inch laptops. They're too huge to be portable. The only use case is if you work on the road a lot and want something to use in say, your hotel room to do proper work. But i'm not sure you'd be buying a laptop of this class if that was the case.
  15. He's complaining about 10mbit upload being barely enough for FB. Man, I have Telstra Cable internet in Australia and get 100mbit down 2 mbit up! I even manage to run a small youtube channel for that. Just leave the computer on overnight...
  16. Do Silverstone design their budget cases? They seemed so far removed from their usual excellence.
  17. Cheers guys, yeah thats a shame there is no access to the bottom port. It would look good on my desk at work, but the whole point is to display it while charging so I can see the notifications flash. I'm one of those odd people that charges their phone at work as opposed to overnight
  18. I thought that might be the case, but this looks to be the three pack? https://www.pccasegear.com/products/35007/thermaltake-riing-140mm-rgb-fan-3-pack-with-controller To me it looks to be 1 fan that is more expensive than 3.
  19. https://www.pccasegear.com/products/36604/thermaltake-riing-120mm-rgb-fan-tt-premium-edition As someone who has more noctua fans worth more than the case they're currently in, this is still a rather difficult to believe cost.
  20. Its a fairly old screen now. But there really isn't many valid competitors in the 24 inch 144hz class.
  21. Yep, very true. That system would be discussing very quickly. The powersupplys especially need a filter because there isn't really any way to clean them. I was running an Air 540 which didn't have a PSU dust filter and the inside of the PSU got choked up pretty fast. I blew some canned air in there, its still going but its filthy. Never again.
  22. Am I right in saying there are no dust filters on any of those large grills? That seems like a big of a strange decision, anything in there would get crazy dusty fast. I was surprised how much dust my CPU cooler and GPU could suck in through a single 120mm unfiltered slot on the side of my case.
  23. Nice. Shame they don't sell this in Australia. I'd get it on contract when Apple drop the headphone jack...
