Hunched got a reaction from pbx2 in Monitor Overclocking - Is it Safe?
I've never seen actual proof of overclocking reducing lifespan of anything if voltages and temperatures aren't extreme.
So as long as those are reasonable, as far as I'm concerned you can overclock anything and it won't have any lifespan impact, and if it does it would be minute.
People say overclocking reduces lifespan, yet there's people with full throttle GPU's and CPU's for 5+ years without issue, because they keep their temps and voltages in recommended and safe operating ranges.
My 4690k has been at a fixed voltage and clock for a year and a half now, with no stability or performance decrease, nor ever requiring more voltage for stability, it's still like day 1.
Figured I'd figure out for myself if it would destroy its lifespan since nobody actually has any proof of anything anywhere, just assumptions of "common sense", which isn't good enough for me to agree.
I'm sure it will hurt its lifespan more than not, but we could be talking like a 0.1% impact. Nobody has an actual fucking clue.
Haven't had my monitor OC'd for too long, but its not really hot and I didn't adjust any timing from defaults, literally changed 1 setting, so it shouldn't really have any impact at all.
As long as temps and voltages are reasonable and it's stable, the sky is the limit for anything.

Why even bother posting? We can't give useless points.

Avoid the G502. As comfortable as it is, it is heavy and sort of large for an FPS mouse. The M65 looks good, I suppose, or any of the more "generic" Logitech gaming mice work. The G100s was a pretty good FPS mouse, despite a lack of buttons.

I updated my post.
Their customer service is also worse than every other company you could buy a 1070 from too.

K. EVGA only shared this on their official Facebook page. Definitely not endorsing G2A as well.
Make sure to do the typical fanboy shit everyone does on these forums and ignore this and continue spreading bullshit.

Blue is cheaper, and RPM speeds on HDDS are not noticeable for the price increase.

700rpm, 1200rpm, 1500rpm is the speed at which they spin. Faster is noisier but moves more air, slower is quieter but doesn't blow as much.
PWM is Pulse Width Modulation, a fan control interface. Basically, it's the 4-pin fan connector that plugs into your motherboard (as opposed to 3-pin motherboard connectors)

Hey there AuxiliusM
A few words on the WD Black vs WD Blue topic here:
- WD Blue is a great storage drive designed for simple computing and basic storage but it can handle pretty much you throw at it. If you aren't planning anything storage-intensive I'd go with it.
- WD Black has a longer warranty, better overall performance and better ability to multitask compared to WD Blue. It has a built-in dual-core chip that manages caching processes better and thus provide better performance during multitasking. It is designed for heavier and longer workloads and should serve you better if you are doing rather storage-intensive things on your build.
It's really up to you to pick between the two. Let me know if you need more info on these drives!

Hunched reacted to AdmnPower in This a OK Fan Controller? (Hardware)
Last time I used speed fan it didn't really support my board and completely ignored commands to increase or decrease any of my 3 pin fans. It could only adjust the CPU fan. Since it's free though OP could always start with that and see how it works and then move to the hardware controller if there are compatibility issues or any other sort of problem.

This is a case for people with more dollars than brain cells.

Hunched reacted to slifrocith in Finding the new 'Perfect' Gaming/CS:GO Mouse?
I'm currently using the Zowie EC2-A and it's the best mouse I've ever used (for CS:GO at least). I've also had a Logitech G502 and a Razer DeathAdder Chroma, the G502 was way too heavy even without the weights and the Chroma was too big for my hands. Sure there's a couple of drawbacks if you get an EC2-A as you'll have to give up on RGB, decent scroll wheel / side buttons but other than that it's great. The sensor is top notch, mouse is lightweight and the cable is soft rubber so the mouse cable doesn't drag as much on your mousepad. You also get an extra set of mouse feet in the box. If you're still undecided, I'd check Rocket Jump Ninja's YouTube channel, he does in-depth reviews on mice and other peripherals.
PS: Zowie's mouse bungee, the Camade, is amazing. It's expensive but it is quality stuff.

Hunched got a reaction from Zyndo in EVGA Marketing BULLSHIT
Oh shit, Brand A? Fuck those guys, I'll never get a Brand A GPU.
Also: "Above test conducted with both fans set to the same acoustic level" So just find a GPU with better quality, quieter fans, and run them at 5x the RPM of your fans to make them as loud = profit?
"Oh wow, it's using way more power at a way higher RPM that's equally as loud as our low RPM because our fans aren't as good"

You should post here more often, I wish I could give you more informative points for being the only correct post in this topic.
Only 4 posts and more useful than anyone else in here.
Rocket Jump Ninja is good, everyone should check him out if they're looking for a competitive FPS mouse.

Well I use flux most of the time at home, but I like the slight zoom the glasses give me, and anti glare etc
plus wearing the glasses at works stops the air conditioning from dying my eye balls out
Plus i hate messing with my monitor settings because i have it colour calibrated for photo work
for most people FLUX will do the job, and its free
but the glasses are good for people who move around computers a lot, dont have permission to run programs on PCs etc and other such situations
Plus the "reading glasses" type effect they have stops eye strain and fatigue

Hunched got a reaction from DutchTexan in Gtx 1080 @ 1440p
I don't see the point in ever getting an xx80 card. I'd just wait for the 1080 Ti which will almost certainly give Titan X performance as always for way cheaper.
With how Nvidia is doing things, you should only really ever get an xx70 or xx80 Ti
xx80 non-Ti is just how they get money from impatient people.
For example, everyone who bought a 980 for full price made a mistake.

Hunched got a reaction from FPS-Russia in Powercolor Devil 13 RX 480 noise?
Not necessarily high usage, it's usually just high fps.
So it will tend to happen in less demanding games where you get higher framerates.
V-sync can stop it, but obviously not something OP will want enabled in CSGO

Getting way worse performance/fps per dollar than the 970 and 980 Ti offer, assuming you paid full price.
