AliceSML79 got a reaction from John_Adams in ASUS OC Panel II upgradable?
I hope I am putting this in the right section. I was just curious if anyone knew if Asus's ROG OC Panel II will be upgrade to work on z270? Board as onboard cone for to add this. I also plan to add the Asus USB 3.1 Type-A FRONT PANEL & USB 3.1 Type-C FRONT PANEL. Also love they use SATA Express to power them. But with those taking 2 of the 3 bay slots I have, I can't do the ROG front base like I wanted. But thes ports are more useful to me. But back to my question, I'd can the Asus's ROG OC Panel II at least work for monitoring in drive bay mode.

    You don't need a 1500W PSU, I'd get the AX1200i

Do you really need 32GB of RAM? If yes, then perfect, if not drop it back to 16GB. DDR4 is already pricey enough, no need to buy more if you don't need it

Also, if those 8TB drives, are the seagate archive drives. Then those hard drives are meant for archiving data. As in write once, never touch it again.

They don't perform well in RAID, the speed on them is terrible, and they're not even rated for regular usage. Depending on what you're after, I would get some WD Blacks, or some HGST NAS drives. HGST NAS over the WD Red because the NAS drives are 7200 rpm, and have a vibration sensor, and will perform excellent in RAID.

well i revived the project and fixed my 1 off case by some miracle.  i even possibly saved my optical drives.  took them apart cleaned with rubbing alcohol and put back together.  i manged to patch the broken wires with wires from my old thermaltake armor+ case.  its really nice i saved the case.  so the overkill build is back on.

below is a list parts i'm planing to get this build. i still haven't decided on which nvidia cards i want to dual sli or which mobo to go with.  but i do know what cpu i will use.
