  1. So I had the A04 version of the Dell S2716DG monitor which I purchased years ago and it suffered severe color banding issues. I talked to Dell Support recently and they offered to send me a refurbished one as a replacement. My new monitor came in today and it looks brand new surprisingly, and the revision is A09 (August 2018) as well. I heard newer revisions drastically reduced color banding and upon testing it out, I noticed that color banding was in fact greatly reduced. The only problem I am seeing now is the viewing angle with the A09. For example, when I lower myself down even a centimeter and look upwards towards the monitor, I can see that the color on a white background (e.g. Google opened on a browser) changes to a slightly yellowish tint. When I tilt my head back up, the colors return back to a normal white. I still have my A04 with me that I must send back in place of my A09, but I tested it this on my A04 and it did not suffer from the viewing angle issue I am having with my A09 at all. No matter how much I lower myself downwards, the colors remain almost the same on my old A04 revision and there is no yellowish tint. Does anyone else experience this issue with the A09 revision? Is it possible I may have a bad monitor, or is this normal with A09 revisions? I'm only cautious because my A04 did not suffer from this at all, just severe color banding. Here is a video of the issue on the A09 revision: https://imgur.com/a/VaBxuah More videos: Comparison on A04 revision: https://imgur.com/a/aSS3mgQ (Yellow tint hardly noticeable when I'm tilting down) Comparison on A09 revision: https://imgur.com/a/GLLumy6 (Yellow tint very noticeable when I'm tilting down) As you can see, it is pretty bad since even the slightest tilt downwards causes this yellow tint on the A09 revision. Should I ask for another replacement?
  2. So I just setup my second monitor (Acer R420HY bidx), and whenever I switch to it, it doesn't really feel like its 60hz. My main monitor is a 144hz G-sync so I know it would feel more sluggish, but the second monitor feels like sometimes 30hz on the Desktop, especially when I'm scrolling in a web browser. I checked my Nvidia control panel and Windows dispay options and ensured it was set to 60hz. Is there anyway I can check the current Hz its running under? I tried the blur busters website but that stupid site never works, keeps giving me sync errors.

    Second monitor doesn't feel "60hz"

Thanks I didn't even think of that lol. So I ran a 60fps video and it looks smooth, like 60fps. Someimtes I feel like it dips down, idk if its the monitor not being able to hold 60fps or just the video. But it is definitely 60fps, maybe it's just normal. The only thing is that when I scroll in a we browser, just feels sluggish like 30hz.
  4. So I'm basically trying to go for a double/triple monitor setup, more with the triple monitor setup being my end goal. I was wondering if my desk (L desk) can even do a double/triple monitor setup. The main problem is that my PC case is a full tower behemoth and takes up a ton of room, so I don't think I can even add a second monitor. Here is a video of my current setup: https://imgur.com/a/y21kumI As you can see, I don't have much room to work with (ignore the Vizio TV as that will be removed, so just assume that I have free space in that area). For my options, I was thinking of either: 1) Purchasing a new desk that will fit triple monitors and my PC. 2) Buying a USB extension hub and a longer DisplayPort cable (to account for my short peripheral cables and monitor video cable) in order to allow myself to just move my PC to where my Vizio TV is in the video. But if I go with this option, I don't think I'll be able to add a third monitor, most likely just a second monitor at the most. Plus, my space will look messy as I will see a ton of cables coming out of the back of my PC due to it being pushed more forward along the L desk to account for the additional monitor. Any suggestions? Kind of stuck here.
  5. I have my own custom color settings set in Nvidia control panel but randomly when I restart/shutdown my computer, the color settings will reset. Sometimes they apply but other times they don't, it's so annoying. I have to open up NCP and select the "Use Nvidia settings" again under "Adjust desktop color settings." It didn't use to do this before, it just started happening a few weeks ago. I've pretty much tried everything I could think of. Solutions I've tried: Updating my GTX 1080Ti drivers/clean installing video drivers through DDU, updating Windows through Windows update. Going into color management and making sure my settings are correct there by following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/7k8vxh/how_to_fix_nvida_control_panel_colors_resetting/) Going into Task Scheduler and tried disabling "Calibration Loader" and the triggers under "WindowsColorSystem" by following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/7b0kpb/fix_for_windows_10_resetting_nvidia_color_profile/) Making sure that my Fast Startup option in Power Options is turned off and my color range in the Nvidia control panel is set to Full. Installing monitor drivers (Dell S2716DG 27' 1440p 144hz G-Sync). NCP still just randomly resets the color settings to default, making my screen bright and washed out. I'm running out of solutions and was wondering if anyone has suggestions or is also experiencing the same issue. I'm on Windows build 1809 by the way. Thanks.
  6. Yeah I was thinking of doing that, just buying a wood piece and putting it on the ground with my PC on top of it. That will free up some space. I did find another desk for now to be able to use a second monitor, but I still end up having to turn my head about 45 degrees to look at it lol. My currenr setup just just gives me like no room, it's so frustrating.

  8. That's a nice looking setup! I would be happy to just put my PC on the floor, but my floor is carpet which is why I'm afraid of doing that. My case does have legs, but still just worried about the airflow.
  9. I honestly just don't know how to account for the huge amount of desk space my PC tower takes. Like I can't even fit any monitors with the current setup position as shown in my video.
  10. My main monitor for my gaming setup is a Dell S2716DG 1440p 144hz G-Sync TN monitor. I am looking to now get a second monitor to make my life easier, especially when I'm streaming and/or managing multiple windows. Would a 1080p 60hz IPS monitor work? If so, I was thinking if this one is any good: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GW2480-Monitor-Flicker-free-Speakers/dp/B072XCZSSW/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=1080p+60hz+ips&qid=1548197752&sr=8-2 As you can see, I don't want it to be expensive as it will be used as a second monitor. Thanks.
  11. I actually changed my mind to this monitor: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-R240HY-bidx-23-8-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B0148NNKTC/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=1080p+60hz+ips&qid=1548201297&s=Electronics&sr=1-4 It looks great for the price.
  12. Is it really that bad? haha

    Decent 2nd Monitor?

So I've been only using one monitor for a while now and now I can safely say that a second monitor will make my life so much easier. So sick of having to alt tab through windows, especially when I'm streaming. Was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a decent monitor that I can use, preferably 144hz? I'm planning to primarily use the second monitor for web browsers, discord, reaching Twitch chat, etc. My main monitor is a Dell S2716DG 144fps 1440p Gsync monitor if that matters. Running a GTX 1080Ti as well. Thanks.

    Decent 2nd Monitor?

Ah ok, can you recommend me any decent ones?
  15. It seems that given my desk setup, it's pretty much impossible for me to add a 2nd monitor. The main problem is the cables that are connected from my PC to my monitor, such as my DisplayPort, mouse, keyboard, webcam, etc., are just not long enough and if I try to distance my PC from my main monitor to make room for a second monitor on the side of my main monitor, the cables connected from my PC don't have enough length to do this. How do people even make room to add a second monitor in their setups? How do they move their PC so far away from their monitor to make room for a second, or even third, when the cables connected from the PC are so dam short? The only solutions I can think of to my issue is: 1) Pur my second monitor on the right side (basically where my Vizio TV is in my video), meaning I have to turn my head 90 degrees every time to look at it, which is horrible. 2) Buy another desk of the same height and add my second monitor to the left of my current one on top of a new desk. The only problem with this is that it will take up more space in my room and my webcam stand will have to move somewhere else since that is originally on the left side (as you can see in the video). I really want to have a second monitor added to the side of my current monitor, but I just see no way to do this. Any suggestions? Here is a video of my current setup: https://imgur.com/a/y21kumI

    Impossible to add 2nd Monitor

Thanks. And come to think of it, I don't really use my speakers, just my headset which is USB. So all I would really need to purchase is a USB extension in the form of a USB hub and a longer DisplayPort cable? Also, does using these extensions have any sort of negatives, such as increased response time, etc.? I wouldn't want this to affect my gaming and such. And just wondering, do you know of any decent monitors that I can purchase to use as my second monitor? It will mainly be for things such as web browsers, discord, reading Twitch chat when I'm streaming, etc. I will be gaming on my main monitor which is a Dell S2716DG 27" 144Hz Gsync monitor.

    Impossible to add 2nd Monitor

The only problem with this is that I will have to buy multiple extension cables for like everything that is plugged from my PC into my monitor/peripherals. This would be extension cables for my DisplayPort cable, mouse, keyboard, webcam, speakers, headset, etc. I just feel like this will be way too much.
  18. Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VJPPHN So I built my PC a couple months ago, back when it was still relatively cold. Now that is is starting to near Summer, it's getting a little hot/humid. So I'm experiencing my PC's fans revving up and down rapidly and I'm assuming it is because of the heat. I'm not sure why it is doing this, and I'm unsure whether it is my H115i's fans or my case fans, or both? Is there anything I can do to stop the revving up/down rapidly? It happens when I'm gaming, like when I was playing Overwatch.
  19. Any suggestions regarding this? Thanks.

  21. Recently updated to Windows 1809 build and am trying to install some new GPU drivers for my GTX 1080Ti. I downloaded DDU as usual and cleaned my drivers. However, upon reboot, Windows automatically installs old Nvidia drivers from like October 27, 2017. I make sure that in my "Change device installation settings," my settings are set never let windows download drivers automatically for other products. Even with that checked, Windows still installs drivers upon reboot. I look in my windows update settings and confirm that I see the old drivers being installed in the installed updates history. I basically turned off my internet and cleaned with DDU and installed the new drivers in order to fix it. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue? I'm thinking it may be because of build 1809?
  22. That's weird because it never happened to me before where Windows automatically downloads the drivers by force. Usually Windows won't automatically download the GPU drivers if I have that setting turned off in "Change device installation settings." I had to basically turn off my internet to get it to stop downloading old drivers and then I installed the new drivers and it didn't overwrite with old drivers (as you mentioned).
  23. So after about 3 years of building this PC, I just learned that my HDD has been unallocated all of this time lol and I have been purely using my SSD as my C drive. When I go into disk management, I see that my SSD is in Disk 1 and my unallocated 2TB HDD is in Disk 0. Before I initialize my HDD, is there any problem with having my SSD in Disk 1 and my HDD in Disk 0? Or should my SSD be in Disk 0 and my HDD be in Disk 1? I'm pretty sure that when I connected my SSD and HDD to the SATA ports on my motherboard, I may have connected my SSD to SATA 1 and HDD to SATA 0 which is why I'm seeing this. Is this a problem or is there no difference at all? Thanks.
