  1. Thanks for the suggestions. I might grab this. Only bad thing I've heard about cyberpower for pre-built is often times they orient the intake/exhaust for the fans in the wrong way.
  2. So I am going to upgrade my PC after 8 years and for $2.3k USD this looks like a great deal: https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Prebuilt-Gaming-PC-GLX-99623 Should I pull the trigger on this?
  3. Here is what I came up with for my new PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xkCDkJ Compared to my old build, I added the i7 13700k, Asus TUF GAMING Z790 Plus Wifi, 2TB M.2, and 32Gb of DDR5 RAM since DDR4 isn’t compatible with the mobo and if I’m upgrading I think I should switch to DDR5 anyways. Those upgrades are going to cost me $1000 after tax. I know the part list says the H115i cooler is incompatible but it looks like the screws will still work from the LGA1151 socket after researching.
  4. How does this combo look: https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-13700K-Processor-Intel®12th-Motherboard/dp/B0BTT9VXWH/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1ZNQ3OGSPH3YZ&keywords=i7+13700k+motherboard+combo&qid=1701021627&sprefix=i7+13700k+motherboard+combo%2Caps%2C460&sr=8-3
  5. Is there a way I can fit an i7 in there? My budget is $600 Thanks but I’m never going AMD for personal reasons.
  6. Budget (including currency): ~$600 Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (CoD Warzone, Fortnite, MMORPG's, etc.) Other details: Current Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WWXbCd So I have had this PC for several years now and had to replace my GPU to a 3070 about 2 years ago. I am having a lot of low FPS issues in games and I believe it's mainly due to how old my CPU is (i7 7700k). I want to upgrade my CPU to an updated Intel. The reason I've been putting it off so long is I need to also replace the motherboard too due to it being an old socket for anything recent. But I want to know if there is a good deal for Intel CPU/Mobo especially since it's close to Cyber Monday. Thanks.
  7. Saw this 3080 on Newegg and wondering if its worth it: https://www.newegg.com/maxsun-geforce-rtx-3080/p/1FT-009J-000B8 The reviews on the card seem great. Also super quiet and great temps. The only downside is that the RGB can’t be controlled which is unfortunate.
  8. On second thought, I’ve been hearing a lot of temperature issues with the card. Like it gets to 80C in some games and it’s pretty loud going off reviews. I’m not so sure anymore. I definitely want to go the Nvidia route but don’t want a toasty/loud card.
  9. Thanks guys. I feel like I can pull the trigger then, it seems like a decent card with good reviews. I’ve been borrowing my friend’s 3070 for a while now so I definitely need to get it back to him.
  10. Saw this on Newegg and I'm in need of a new GPU. Have never heard of Yeston though. https://www.newegg.com/yeston-geforce-rtx-3080-rtx3080-10g-d6x-ya/p/1FT-007N-00071?Description=3080 strix&cm_re=3080_strix-_-9SIAZUEHMN7535-_-Product&quicklink=true $769 with $40 gift card.
  11. So I’ve recently been looking around for GPU’s and can get a 3080 Asus series for $800. But I’m wondering if it’s worth waiting for the 4000 series to come out. I’m not sure how long until they come out though or if it’ll be difficult to get one.
  12. So I recently removed the front and top panels of my Phanteks Enthoo Luxe case to do some cleaning for the first time after 6 years. There was a lot of dust and I cleaned the front panel/front fans and top panel of the case lightly with a towel + canned air. But upon turning my computer on, I immediately noticed that the front panel fans are making this weird pulsating noise. If you listen to the video with the volume turned all the way up you can faintly hear it, but it seems to be louder in real life. I’m not sure if this is normal or if there is something wrong. The only reason I’m thinking it may be normal is that the sheer amount of dust that was built up dampened the noise which is why I didn’t hear it before. The front panel of the case had a fan connector which I didn’t disconnect during the cleaning. The top panel of the case did have cables which I did disconnect but I made sure to connect them back up to the same place, but I’m assuming that was just for the power button and HDD light, etc. that is located on the top panel of the case. I checked all my fan settings and made sure nothing was changed too. IMG_9867.MOV
  13. My GPU is in the top slot. But I didn't touch my GPU at all before I had any of these issues.
  14. The top panel and front panel had some cables connected to the fans and the power button on the case. But they are working properly, both the power button LED's and case fans are all spinning. So i don't think anything got unplugged. I didn't mess with anything near the motherboard.
  15. I'm running into a very weird problem. Today I took the front panel and top panel off of my case to clean it and there was a ton of dust. I used a towel and canned air to clean it. Now upon putting it back I notice that my front-case fans are pulsating a little bit. I checked my fan curves and speeds and everything seems normal. However, I just played a game of league and noticed my fps drops to like 80-90 when in combat or lots of stuff is happening. It never used to do this before. I would always stay at 140+ frames. I checked my temps and everything is fine as well. Not sure what happened because I just took off the front panel and top panel. Would cleaning my PC cause this? Maybe something else happened software related? Not sure cause I don't remember changing anything. Specs: i7 7700k, RTX 3070, 16GB RAM, Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Case
  16. Thanks for the info. And yeah this video was actually before the compressed air cleaning. I just posted it to show how much dust was accumulated lol. It’s pretty clean now and I put everything back together again.
  17. So I finally got around to cleaning my front case fans of my Phanteks Enthoo Luxe case after like 6 years. I opened it up and there was a ton of dust, like literally clumps of dust (see video). I took a dry towel to remove most of the dust then finished it off with a can of compressed air. I was careful with the fans, and only used small bursts of air to clean the dust off of them. When I turned my Pc on, I noticed the front case Pc fans were just a little bit more noises, and if I get my ear real close to the case, I can hear the fans slightly pulsating. None of my fan configuration settings changed, but wondering if this is normal? Part of me wants to think that it sounds different just because of all that dust that was removed. IMG_9866.MOV
  18. No dice unfortunately. Turned off HAGS as well as hardware acceleration in Chrome but issue still persists. Some games (like League) will frame skip by +1 per second, while other games like Destiny 2 will frame skip by like +10 per second.
  19. Yeah hardware acceleration is on. I can turn it off to see if it’ll help. I also have HAGS on in Windows 11
  20. The weird thing is that if I alt tab out and back in again, the frame skips stop when I’m gaming. But if I do that same process again they return. If the Cpu was being overloaded, wouldn’t the frame skipping occur every time I was in the game? Also my CPU utilization is around 70-80% in most games.
  21. So whenever I game on my main monitor, watching twitch streams and youtube on my second monitor via Chrome feel choppy and not true 60fps. I think I found out why according to the skipped frames in the picture. This is after watching a stream for about 10mins while gaming on my main monitor. Alt tabbing to my second monitor and tabbing back into my game stops the frame skips, but if I ever alt tab out of my game again and then tab back in the skips come back. It's super weird. Any way to resolve this or why this is happening? Setup is i7 7700k, RTX 3070, 16GB RAM, Windows 11 Main monitor is G-sync capable (Dell S2716DG, 144Hz, 1440p), G-sync is set to ON Second monitor is G-sync compatible (Acer XFA240, 144Hz, 1080p), G-sync is set to OFF
  22. Does Gsync only work in 3d applications? Or does it work for Chrome too? I have two G-sync displays (one G-sync capable, other G-sync compatible). If I only game on my G-sync capable monitor and use my G-sync compatible monitor for watching youtube videos/twitch streams on Chrome, is there any benefit at all for enabling G-sync on the G-sync compatible monitor?
  23. I’m trying to get my NVCP settings correct and I have a question: What’s the proper way to set up Gsync if I have one Gsync capable monitor and another Gsync compatible monitor? I only game on the Gsync capable monitor which is my main monitor and use the secondary one for watching YouTube videos and Twitch streams. Should I enable Gsync for both monitors or just one? And does Gsync affect watching YouTube videos or Twitch streams at all via Chrome for example? Or is it only for 3D applications?
  24. So I have this pretty weird issue where in some games (tested with Destiny 2 and FFXIV), whenever I play any video on my second monitor and then switch back to my primary monitor to game, I can tell the frames in the videos playing on my second monitor are dropping. I use Google Chrome as my web browser. For example, YouTube and Twitch streams that are outputting in 60fps honestly feel like they’re 30fps on my second monitor whenever I’m gaming on my primary monitor. The frames in those videos/streams feel very inconsistent too, almost like they’re fluctuating up and down. But as soon as I click back into my second monitor the videos become smooth again. Then clicking back into my primary monitor the frames in the videos become choppy. I play all my games in true fullscreen. But I noticed that in Destiny 2 at least, whenever I switch to borderless fullscreen, the frames in the videos are smooth when I’m gaming on my primary monitor. But the problem with borderless window is that my game feels very stuttery, and it feels like Gsync isn’t even working. The same thing happens in FFXIV regarding borderless window mode. My GPU utilization also reaches 95%+ when playing FFXIV. The weird thing is that when playing League of Legends, I don’t experience any problems. Neither with frame drops on my second monitor or borderless fullscreen. Could it just be FFXIV and Destiny 2 being weird? Maybe Steam since both of those games are installed through Steam? I’m not really sure. Has anyone experienced this weird problem before? Specs i7 7700k RTX 3070 16GB RAM Windows 11 Monitor 1 (Primary): Dell S2716DG, 144Hz, 1440p, G-sync capable Monitor 2 (Secondary): Acer XFA240, 144Hz, 1080p, G-sync compatible Nvidia Control Panel Settings Max frame rate set to 141fps V-sync - ON G-Sync - ON for both monitors and set to both fullscreen/windowed mode Scaling set to maintain Aspect Ratio and scaled with GPU on both monitors Windows 11 Settings Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) - ON VRR - ON Things I’ve Tried Disabling HAGS and VRR Switching scaling from GPU to Display on the second monitor Turning off G-sync Using DDU to fully reinstall drivers Clean Windows install Disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome Any help or knowledge behind this is appreciated, this issue has been driving me crazy.
  25. Yeah I'm aware. I actually had microstuttering issues across all games but when I updated to W11 they were fixed. Also, I tested another game (Destiny 2) and did not notice any frame drops in videos playing on my second monitor. I think it may just be with the way FFXIV handles multi-monitor setups. It's not a dealbreaker, but if I would have to guess I would say videos drop maybe 10-20 frames when I'm tabbed into FFXIV. I also noticed that in FFXIV my GPU is constantly at 90%+ while in other games it never really reaches 90%. Also, FFXIV doesn't handle borderless windowed mode correctly, especially with G-sync monitors. I think it may just be the game's engine.
