  1. Excuse me for the thread excavation, but this one seems to pop up quite high in Google Search, so I'll chime in with a working solution for anyone who needs it. Reading through an issue on the Chromium bug tracker, I've encountered someone's workaround: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=374624#c27 The gist of it is that you may be able to silence the bug by going to %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Protect\ and deleting the singular folder named with a GUID that's present there. I presume this forces some security information to be regenerated and works around a sneaky bug in Chrome, that otherwise causes it to lock up for a while. Be warned though, that this procedure may cause interference with Chrome's ability to store and retrieve security information, such as saved passwords, extension data, etc. You can make sure your stuff is cloud-synced (for passwords that's https://passwords.google.com) to prevent that from being a problem. Now, as for the other answers in this thread... I know it's really old, but please, do some digging before you dismissively tell someone to reinstall their OS.
  2. For a review of a new i3, I would at least expect you to compare it to previous i3s (4370 and 6300, for example), not to mention actual i5s (come on, I know you have a 6400 or a 4440 at hand or could easily acquire one) and the likes of FX-8350 (almost exactly the price of this i3) and A10-7890K. Also, as other people are saying, benchmarking CPUs in GPU-heavy workloads isn't the way to go and you guys know it very well. And e-sports games? People probably wanna know if this CPU can get them over 200 fps in CS:GO, but nah, you can't test that while literally having a Global Elite (Ed) and piles of all sorts of GPUs in your office... I'm really disappointed.
  3. So this is my setup, but I also have friends with crap peripherals, so I would probably share stuff with them if I win CM Storm Quickfire XT (MX Brown), Steelseries Sensei Raw Rubberized (would love to test differently shaped mice), Steelseries Qck, Philips SHP2000 headphones, and a $2 microphone Already following Feenix Twitter handle: @Outfr0st
  4. I currently use an HD7870, and it's doing great, but I also have a friend who uses some old crap that almost never works and frequently bluescreens. It would be awesome to get a Polaris card, so that I can pass the HD7870 on to him and so we can game together more often. A few more fps here and there for me is of course a welcome bonus
  5. I'm entering to win a keyboard for a friend of mine, because he is still using a cheap, badly-built low profile piece of crap that's slowly breaking apart. I would love to let him game on an actual keyboard I already have a mechanical keyboard (a CM Storm Quickfire XT) and I want him to experience the same comfort of gaming and typing. 6. So, a friend of mine plays games on a really old rig and has to put up with a lot of obstructions during Counter-Strike sessions. He recently got himself a decent mouse, so that's one step towards a comfortable setup. But still, apart from the PC and monitors (two crappy square 17s), he still uses a really, really bad keyboard. It's not just the layout and low-profile keys that can drive him mad, but also the awful build quality and the fact that the thing is pretty much broken at this point. He probably would've thrown it out already, but he doesn't have any money to buy a new keyboard with. That's why I want the Excalibur v2. It would be awesome to improve his gaming (and typing) experience such a great deal. My Twitter handle is @Outfr0st
  7. I think everyone should have an SSD in their laptop, and I damn sure want to have one in mine, because not only is it blazingly fast to work with, it really improves the ruggedness of a mobile computer - you don't have to worry about damaging the hard drive and/or the data on it by vibrations, weird tilting, flexing the notebook too much (e.g. in transport) or other mechanical strain. Besides, I currently have a 500GB HDD in my laptop and it's for nothing. It has only once seen a figure of free space less than 350 GB, and that was me doing a temporary backup of some videos from my desktop machine. Thus if I can have the option to swap that HDD for a smaller but so much faster and more shock-resistant SSD, i'll take it any day.
  8. I want the Kiro. I'm currently gaming on a Steelseries Sensei Raw Rubberized and I would love to see how the Kiro stacks up against it in my palm and if it wins me over as a daily driver
  9. So my favorite is the Autore keyboard. It's a pretty rare combo: it's fullsize, it's got MX Browns, the bottom row of keys sits actually deeper than the penultimate row (which makes both gaming and typing noticeably more comfortable, especially because I don't use wristrests), it's elegant, and doesn't have flashing lights and "gaming" logos all over it. And that's what makes me want it so bad - the best suited mechanical keyboard for me right now! Also, you guys are pretty timely. Walked in with the giveaway in hand right before I went to upgrade my gaming gear. Best of luck everygeek!
  10. I play CS:GO and Space Engineers all day all night. Let me see what that Star Wars thingy is about. And if it can run on my *elderly man's voice* Phenom II X4 920...
  11. (I have also shared this video with Linus on Twitter as @Outfr0st) Good luck folks!
  12. The scroll wheel on my current mouse is damn frustrating. Whenever I try to scroll down a website, it keeps flicking up and down, barely managing to move content in the desired direction. So yeah, I'm looking for a replacement for the A4-Tech X760 I currently have. Also, I'm trying to improve at CS:GO, so a decent mouse would definitely help that.
  13. Thank you for the reply, kristaps. I'll see what I can do. Will post back if I engineer something.
  14. If you're still looking for company, I'm interested. Currently GNM, aiming to hit at least MG2 with a decent team, so if you can communicate and have a general sense of map awareness, I'm open for invites. I have a mic and can speak English pretty well. Hit me up: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198021680711/ PS Don't laugh at 700h and gold nova
