When I initially put my first rig together, I just plugged everything in and let it run like that for about a day or so, and everything was just fine. However the next day, when I got around to doing some cable management, and I routed everything to where I wanted it, whenever I would turn on my machine, my monitor would turn on for a split second and turn right back off. I spent a good half-hour trying to figure out what the hell I did wrong. After taking a more careful look in my machine however, I realized that my CPU power cable was inserted backwards... *facepalm*

So it seems that we ended up making some noise. Looks like senators and business's are starting to realize that what the FCC is doing is completely the opposite of what they should be doing. It seems like everyone's finally taking this seriously or at least some major players are.

Interesting fact: Infinity Ward was pretty much ran out of their own company by Activision after Modern Warfare 2. Bobby Kotick of course kept the name but none of the actual talent that used to develop. Hence, everything they've done since it's crap:

I am tolerant, I don't see how my post is in any way intolerant. I don't agree that creationism should be treated as a "fact", simply because there is no proof to support it. A fact, as per definition, has to be backed up by proof. Education is, or should be (I hope we can all agree on that) based on facts.
And just because the bible contains some facts doesn't make it a fact-checked scientific piece of literature.

exactly. so indoctrinating children into believing what you believe, lobbying to treat creationism as "science" and to teach it a such in public schools, telling women what they can and can't do with their bodies, being intolerant towards gays, going to the continent most ravished by aids to tell people not to use condoms and laughing in the face of centuries of hard scientific work, basing each argument off of an ancient book and then demanding respect for it, is totally not forcing your ideas on others, right?

Seriously, I know not all religious people do these things, but the amount of people that do are causing enough damage as is and the others are just really missing out on the blissful glory of actual facts and actual education.

con·clu·sive   adjective (of evidence or argument) serving to prove a case; decisive or convincing.   (of a victory) achieved easily or by a large margin. It can't be a "if you ask me" thing because then what is conclusive is relative and that defeats the purpose of the discussion entirely.
      Agreed.

Atheism doesn't claim to be conclusive, but it does champion such things. I feel it's fine to ask that something that champions conclusive-ness require it to be legitimate.
    Just saying.

    My Take

Personally, I like the price drop, but with out evil™ DRM™™ regulating the play back device to check its screen size, how is the purchasing going to work properly the way he proposes?

As if they didn't put evil™ DRM™™ on it, you could abuse it, e.g.

"Oh, this film is £7.99 on x store, let me just go on my phone, pay £1.99 for it, then copy it to my PC. Saved myself £6."
OR   Troll Science version:   - Go to buy film, leave mouse over buy button - Remove monitor from PC giving effective screen size of 0" - Film then becomes free as the screen is 0", purchase it - Plug monitor back in - ??? - Profit - Problem Film Companies? -trollface.png-

Here's my example to help elaborate:

    Current film purchasing system:
     - Buy 1080p film on your Phone
     - Sync your Phone with your PC
     - 1080p film can now me played on your PC and your Phone in HD
     - Paying for an increase in picture quality is understandable and acceptable, as you are getting a tangible benefit to parting more money. I.e. SD to HD.

    Proposed film purchasing System:
     - Buy 1080p film on your Phone for £1.99
     - DRM blocks you from watching on anything but a (say your phone has a 5" display) a 5" phone/device
     - You then have to purchase the exact same 1080p film but on your PC, you now you've bought the same thing twice, but also...
     - Oh, you bought a new monitor? What's that, its a 23" and your old one was 22"? Too bad, buy it again / upgrade to 23" version for the exact same 1080p film
     - Hopefully you get my point, yada, yada...

I suppose its following the same train of thought/mentality that many, many people seem to have, that: screen size = better quality. The amount of people I've had to tell that their TV is not better than say, my pc monitor because its bigger, E.g. their 720p 32" plasma is not better than my 24" 1200p IPS monitor because its 'bigger'.

    Or

When people are buying graphics cards and deciding whether to buy it or not on its capability to drive a 32", 45", x" display when, in fact, most of us are trying to explain to them why its not the screen size that indeed matters but the resolution. Then subsequently trying to explain what resolution is, then after that doesn't work getting the model number for the TV to check ourselves, then when given the answer "oh I don't know, Panasonic 32" in black" ... you catch my drift. (and yes, I was narrating that question with you guys in mind, as I'm sure we've all been there. Ha, fun.)

In its proposed state, in my opinion, its not going to work. Personally, the way that it is currently measured (on resolution, SD, HD, Full HD, Beyond HD, 4K, etc...) is a sensible structure, but does need a price drop. And cinemas, get out of 'ere charging £15/ticket, that certainly needs to change. nutters.

Matman24 reacted to xamon in Why is steam support so bad?
I found out that some issues get resolved a lot faster than others through Steam support. Some of the more technical issues does take longer because of the amount of time it takes them to respond, the type of response they give you the first time (usually a canned answer that shows they haven't even read your question) and then repeat those sequences until you get a real answer. This is something that is well known around Steam and something people have been campaigning for a change for a long time but in true Valve fashion has not been changing at all. This follows a long list of issues Valve has and refuse to either acknowledge them or change them in anyway.

This is why competition is key. Fanboyism apart, no one would ever want a company to be as monopolistic as what Valve has become on the PC market. It doesn't matter where you buy your games most of them comes with Steam keys, some people want every game to come to Steam only and according to many Indie devs (those that do not have an advertising budget), being able to have your game on Steam is imperative in the current market. This is so dangerous that a single platform has such a high influence on a whole market and that people are so reticent to see it and even go as far as wishing any competition to disappear for the sake of either convenience or seeing other clients as "adware/bloatware etc".

The thing is, Steam has a lot of issues. The client is bloated, the community side of Steam is buggy and has been since it was introduced (the same issues still happen to this day, outages are more and more frequent), the library is not well though out and trying to sort it in any way is a pain (try doing any type of sorting when you have 950+ games), the store features are not complete etc. Some of those issue where by third party software such as EnhancedSteam for the store and Depressurizer for the Steam library (to some extent) which just shows that the issues people have can be fixed and that it is not that hard to fix them (both are 1 man team).

When Origin was introduced, they were the only client that could install games on several drives without the use of 3rd party software. Not long afterward Valve added the feature to Steam something that was asked for so long that someone had to make his own software for it. Origin introduced their new return policies (only for EA games as of now) and now Valve offers refunds on pre order but in Steam wallet (a step in the right direction).  I am not saying other clients do not have issues, just saying that if they become more popular they can bring some change in how things are done.

Competition is needed. No matter how much good will a company has accumulated at one point or how much loved they are they need real competition to keep them in check. I still cannot even imagine how people still see no fault with Valve with all the issues they continuously have.

    First up the gt 705

This sexy thing is a rebadge of the gt 610 which was a rebadge of gt 520. spicy.

Let me throw some numbers at you
48 CUDA CORES 64 BIT MEMORY BUS a jesus tier of only 29watts under full load An awesome process size of 40nm If i was you id wait for the classified or lightning versions of this card, you could maybe push it up by 1000mhz.

    Next up the...

    GT 710

This lady killer isnt a rebadge of the of Gt 620, whats this madness, its a rebadge of the gt 630, actually no its not, this is a cut down gt 630, madness is it, whatever.

Lets get down to the stats
Uses the genetically superior pci-e gen 2.0 lane. supports DX 11 has 512mb of memory, wait a sec thats less then the 705, i guess the AMD marketers went to nvidia for a day. Thats all i can say about that card, I recommed you wait for a sapphire version, even though this is nvidia im sure a 8gb vram version will be arriving soon after launch.

    LASTLY

    the new god('s servant),

    the new flagship(mascot),

Here it is the GT 720

This you might notice is the same as the above card but its superior.

Its not a half rebrand, ITS A FULL REBRAND.

This card has a full 1gb of vram. If you convert that to bytes its 1.0737 X 10^9 which is a big number, if you tried to count to that number it would take... A LONG TIME.

Unlike the ferocity of the above cards, this one is on a whole new level, those cards have a straightly 1 smx unit whereas this dragonslayer has 2 smx units. THATS 200% THE PERFORMANCE, i think.

It also has the DNA of the gtx titan, the 680, 770, titan black, titan brown, every voodoo card and that crazy tall guy from fractal.

Well then its been great but thats everything ive got today lads, follow EVGA's step up plans because im sure you titan wielders will be gunning for one of these beauties soon.

I used to be an avid console gamer, you know the annoying generic ones that are on youtube that are like. OMG PC GAMIN SO EXPENSIVE AND COSOLES LOOK JUST AS GOOD!! yeah that was me. But after I happened across some tech videos specifically, linus with that old dorky camo cap he wore it convinced me to atleast try PC gaming. I bought my first PCs parts and with linus videos to guide built my first PC when i was purely console about a month before hand. Now a few years later from the departure of camera guy to the arrival of tarren (think thats how you spell it ) I have watched and learned from all your videos and now have put those skills into landing a nice job in a field that I am currently attending college for.
So linus if you read this I thank you so much for showing me and helping discover one of my true passions in life. Keep on making the videos with luke and the gang because you have yourself a life long viewer and admirer.
