  1. I'm not sure about other countries, but is Australia the only country that SUCKS at being remotely close to MSRP? Recently, I was juggling between getting a 7900xtx or a 4080. Then the 4080 Super was announced at $999 MSRP, the same as the 7900xtx, compared to the 4080 $1199 MSRP (I understand these figures are in USD). Lo and behold, looking at actual retailer prices such as Mwave and Scorptec shows not only is the 4080 super more than the 7900xtx, but it's more than the 4080 as well. There's an almost $200-$300 price difference between the 7900xtx and the 4080 super depending on where you look. This doesn't inspire any confidence in downward pressure being applied to AMD's card price. Are we just terrible at pricing? Is this occurring in other countries too?
  2. Haha the only thing I ever ball out on is my computer upgrades to a reasonable degree, I think my kidney will be safe (unless I do get that 4090, you'll see me on the operating table)
  3. Seems to be the general consensus that I've gathered now. Once I see the price difference and performance of the 4080 super, I'll probably pick between that or the 7900xtx
  4. Oh and the 7900xtx is between $1699-1799 AUD
  5. A 7900xt is anywhere between $1299-1399 AUD currently.
  6. Yeah its being released at the end of this month so I'm waiting for official benchmarks. Though being priced the same as the 7900xtx is a bonus.
  7. Do you see value in getting the 7900xtx > 7900xt, or waiting for the 4080 super release?
  8. Quoting reddit (take that as you will). I'm currently running a R5 3600X, 32gb DDR4 3200@cl16 with a 3060ti at 1080p and its just not competitive for streets or lighthouse (also knowing that map is barely optimised)
  9. I want to do a new build soon for 1440p gaming however I haven't been able to get a definitive answer to this question. I've been thinking between the 7900xt and the 7900xtx. However, I've also seen mixed opinions on whether this is an appropriate combination. Some have said this is optimal, while others have determined the GPU to be overkill for the CPU. The most demanding game I currently play is Escape from Tarkov. What's the general opinion, or do people have other suggestions? I saw that Nvidia is releasing the 4080 super and I'm waiting to see benchmarks.
  10. I'm looking into upgrading my PC once again, a complete re-haul but I've been indecisive on my GPU choice since prices are through the roof. I'm mainly looking between the RX 7800 XT and the 4070ti, though I am open to other suggestions (though the 7900xt and 4080 and above are way out of my price range) Looking to play games at 1440p, mainly competitive shooters with the most demanding game being Escape from Tarkov (I would love to run streets at more than 60 frames ). My current plan for specs are: CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D Mobo: Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX Micro ATX (Likely to opt for the ATX version) RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory Cooler: (Looking for a 240-360mm AIO, taking suggestions) Case: Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower Case Storage: (Looking for an m.2 drive, probably no larger than 2TB, also taking suggestions) If I can give any more information to inform suggestions just lmk. Cheers!
  11. Buying a GTX 1060 though I'm picking between the EVGA GeForce 1060 SC (https://www.mwave.com.au/product/evga-geforce-gtx-1060-sc-gaming-3gb-video-card-ab86885) or EVGA GeForce 1060 FTW+ (https://www.mwave.com.au/product/evga-geforce-gtx-1060-ftw-gaming-acx-30-3gb-video-card-ab87400). Which GPU is giving me better performance for my money?
  12. Made a topic about this before but in the wrong thread (Whoopsies) Though i'm looking for a new headset with a good mic and sound (Nothing to bass oriented or focused). I have a budget of $100 Thank you!
