I'm not sure about other countries, but is Australia the only country that SUCKS at being remotely close to MSRP?
Recently, I was juggling between getting a 7900xtx or a 4080. Then the 4080 Super was announced at $999 MSRP, the same as the 7900xtx, compared to the 4080 $1199 MSRP (I understand these figures are in USD).
Lo and behold, looking at actual retailer prices such as Mwave and Scorptec shows not only is the 4080 super more than the 7900xtx, but it's more than the 4080 as well. There's an almost $200-$300 price difference between the 7900xtx and the 4080 super depending on where you look. This doesn't inspire any confidence in downward pressure being applied to AMD's card price.
Are we just terrible at pricing? Is this occurring in other countries too?
