  1. New employer is sending me an M1 MacBook Pro (13in.), and I'm trying to figure out the optimal ultrawide display to come as close as possible replicating a triple monitor setup. Due to M1 limitations and IT restrictions with 3rd party drivers, I won't be able to go triple monitor with common workarounds (DisplayLink, eGPU, etc). I can only proceed with one display. My job requires 12hrs/day of multi-tasking between data analysis, slack, Asana, and gmail. Having 1ms GTG response time isn't necessary, and having perfect color accuracy for video/illustration editing is also not necessary. Will obviously not be gaming, so 120hz+ is not necessary, but appreciated by my eyeballs if a viable option exists. Here are some options that I've been able to find, but perhaps there are some that I may have missed? Maximum budget is $2k. LG 49WL95C-WE LG CX 48 (From Linus' YT video, but worried about the 2160 pixel height) Samsung LC49RG90SSNXZA (thinking of dropping from list because the stand takes up too much desk real estate + flickering issues with iOS) TYIA
  2. Thank you for all the help with this thread. Have a great weekend!
  3. I believe its specs are marginally better than the base 5700 XT
  4. I've been using a 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition as my GPU for the last 6 months. I'm trying to figure out if upgrading to a 6800 XT (when it's released and inventory stabilizes) would be a worthy upgrade or just an emotional FOMO purchase. I only play Warzone on a 1080p 280hz monitor. CPU is a 5900x. Perhaps keeping my current GPU and trying to OC it is the adult decision? Having a hard time understanding if the paper differences in boost freq, compute units, and stream processors translate significantly or not. My game graphics settings don't even come close to the 8GB of vram of the 5700 XT currently. TYIA
  5. Need help choosing between the following setups for work (not gaming). My hard requirements are 4K, IPS, UHD, 27'' + Option 1: 3 x LG 27UD58-B Option 2: 3 x Dell U2718Q Option 3: 1 x LG 43UD79-B + 2 x vertical monitors to match the 43'' bezel (non 4k). Here are the concerns I have with each: For #1: This appears to be the budget version of the LG 27UD68-W flagship model. Is the difference between the two night and day or was it simply a face lift update? For #3: I'm worried about the pixel density of 4K being stretched out to 43'' on this monitor compared to a 27'' of same resolution. Could someone chime in on this? Intended work use: video production, photoshop, digital marketing
  6. It's not for YouTube production but for E-Learning and digital marketing that I'm seasoned with. Do you have any monitor recommendations?
  7. Thanks, is this the most recent model for this product line?
  8. I currently have 3 x 24" 1080p monitors for my workstation at home, but often find myself severely running out screen real estate. I do not game anymore (pity) and only use my setup for working. I need some help picking out a 3 x 4K IPS setup. Naturally, I want to go with 27" since this is the sweet spot for 4K pixel density right? I also saw early today on Unbox Therapy the LG43UD79 43" 4K monitor that looked quite tantilizing but I was worried that the absurd amount of inches might kill the picture quality that is associated with 4K resolution. Below are my hard requirements for the monitors: - 4K - IPS - 60hz - UHD for Photoshop and Movie Production - VESA compatible - Any $ amount, I have unlimited budget. (Curved would be cool but not required) I'm writing this from my phone and apologize for any formatting errors. Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing your opinions and clearing up any misconceptions I may have.
  9. Yes I'm located in the U.S., but felt like these forums might be a safer bet than Craiglist. I will look into though.
  10. I recently made my dream build, but with my new job I really don't have the time to properly use the computer anymore and would rather sell it to someone who can appreciate/use it. I'm currently gathering all the information and pictures for an acceptable classified posting here on the forums/ But before posting, I just wanted to ask those of you who have gone through the process of selling an upper price tag computer online for advice or lessons you learned along your journey whether it be accepting payments and/or shipping that could help me not get scammed and hopefully lead to a smooth process. Thanks for your time.
  11. For those of you with the Gigabyte 1070 extreme, are you not satisfied with the "RGB" colors too? I have a white/black build theme and my pure white (#ffffff) shows more like a washed out purple which looks terrible. Was wondering if there's another hex code that might have a better display white? Maybe I should just exchange it for a FE and shave down the green LED so it shows as white...
  12. I'll give it a try leaning the case on it's side for a couple days since mounting it vertically in a Lian Li PC-08 case requires me to talk the entire system apart again
  13. GPU: Giagabyte 1080 Extreme CPU: E5-1650 v3 Mobo: MSI Godlike Carbon X99 Storage: Samsung 950 Pro M.2 PCI-E Ram: 64GB Dominator Platinum 2400mhz Just booted up my system for the first time and installed windows. However, every time I turn on the system, it goes to the MSI splash page for the BIOS first and then starts loading windows. When I finally get into windows, it seems like the speed expected of an m.2 pci-e is just not there. For example, just trying to download the Unigine Valley benchmark takes 5 hours to download even with a 60mbps internet speed. I ran the Samsung magician to benchmark the m.2 (first attachment). The benchmark looks fine, I think, but the system feels sluggish with anything download or computational related...
  14. That's how my old sata ssd was sounding during computational tasks from several years ago. But regardless, the h100i shouldn't be making that sound right?
