In my experience you usually have to be really patient when working with people who don't understand computers. I have lost track on how many times i have taught my parents to copy and paste but I keep helping them.

I have seen this a couple times. Have you tried using a different video cable. The cable that you are outputting to your display could be bad. Also you should see if your video card is the issue, try putting a different gpu into your computer or using the on-board graphics

The evga acx cooler is pretty good. I get pretty good temps on my 780 and I have heard nothing but good things about evga customer support.

I bought the mad catz STRIKE 7 keyboard. The touch screen was unnecessary and overkill and the keyboard was way too big. http://i.imgur.com/PMnD5CV.jpg I now have the corsair k70 with cherry mx red switches and couldn't be happier.

I got the evga gtx 780 acx for $499. It handles all of my games like a champ.

Chromebooks are actually really useful. I use one occasionally at my job. It's pretty nice to have a lightweight computer that can access the web when I have move around several buildings. However I do agree that Alienware computers are extremely overpriced.
