  1. My Build: Gigabyte 970A-UD3P Motherboard, 8 pin ATX CPU power Corsair CX600 PSU Hyper212 Evo CPU Cooler AMD FX-6350 Other: 16GB Crucial RAM 1TB HDD Seagate Barracuda 240GB Kingston SSDNow 300V Fractal Design Define R4 I've been looking for a good guide on the internet about overclocking the FX-6350, but most are either for the 6300 or just generic guides that confuse me, who has never overclocked before. What I think I know: FX-6350 musn't go over 70*C Increase core clock in BIOS 100MHz at a time, then stress test for 1 hour each time. Silicon lottery means I may/may not get a crap OC. I need to know: What is that program that shows all the CPU info/running info that everyone seems to use? Am I supposed to have some sort of drivers for my processor? What are the risks? How much will this affect the longevity of my processor? Is my motherboard good enough for overclocking? It has an 8-pin 12V power thing for the CPU which I thought was supposed to be perfect for anything How far can I push the temps until it gets dangerous? So if 70*C is bad, then should I stop at 60*C?
  2. I thought that'd be the case, I knew the 6770 wasn't much of a help but I figured I'd do it anyway if I could.
  3. I currentl have a GT640 in my PC (Borrowing from a friend). I am going to buy an R9 280. I have a spare HD6770, and I want to know whether I'll be able to put them in crossfire? From what I know, crossfire works with any two AMD cards, so surely it will work? I want solid answers, please don't leave one-worded replies. Thanks .
  4. What do you mean by Format? And will I be able to hotswap my HDD in, or will i have to set boot priorities?
  5. I just installed an SSD and I need to wipe my old HDD, what's the fastest way of doing this? Small question I know.
  6. 1080p, I don't count the frames but I normally play TF2 and BF3 felt just as smooth.
  7. Where did you find the 280x for £145?
  8. Need a new GPU. My 7770 is broken. I found it had perfectly good performance, so anything on par or better will be ok. What should I be considering? I can save up a bit to get a really big improvement if it isn't too far out of reach. My immediate thoughts go to getting an r9 270, but people are all talking about 7000 series cards and I have no idea about where to begin with them. I would also quite like to get an r9 280 if someone can show me a place where one of those is close to my price range. Oh yeah and I have no idea about nVidia Cards.
  9. I have/had a 7770, exact same edition as this and I got perfectly fine frames in BF3 at ultra settings with my FX-6350
  10. Hey awesome would love to replace the broken laptop I'm using under the TV with this.
  11. I bought a new mother board. there was no evident damage on the old one. This is why I am beside myself.
  12. The title isn't an exaggeration. 2 months ago I uninstalled a heatsink incorrectly. I accidentally ripped the CPU (FX-6350) out of it's socket. I reinstalled everything and went upstairs to check if it was ok, got a black screen. I then borrowed a Phenom II from a friend, still got a black screen. I have since replaced the motherboard and the PSU. I still have black screens. I have spent all of my Christmas money and gifts on this and I simply don't know what to do. I know this isn't detailed but someone please help me.
  13. Okay so I got a new motherboard. In contrast to my old board which had a 4-pin 12V connector beside the CPU socket, this one has an 8-pin. I have a non-modular power supply which only has a 4-pin coming out of it, so today I went out and got a molex-8pin adapter, thinking that would solve my problem. Only when I get home I realise that I had a PCIe 8-pin, so it wouldn't fit. Someone please tell me that I don't have to buy a new power supply. I don't know If I could handle that.
  14. Team Fortress 2, haha, but I record and render a lot.
  15. People, I need answers. Decisive answers. I am getting more questions and answers that don't actually answer my question than answers. Is there a motherboard that'll be a direct upgrade to this around this price range? When I say upgrade, I mean specifically specification-wise. Is there a board that'll CPU overclock better for my 6350? Is there a board with better PCI-E slots (no one has answered my queries about that yet) ? Wtf are power phases? I know a fair bit but I've never had to shop for a motherboard before and you guys are confusing me a slight bit. And I am not switching to Intel out of the blue.
  16. guys I have a full PC build, its in my profile. My motherboard broke so I just need a new motherboard. I would like to overclock the CPU, yes. I have a hyper212 cooler.
  17. Okay so I have about $70 to spend on a motherboard, I have been looking mainly at the Gigabyte 970a-ds3p. Is there anything better out there for the same price? I really want a motherboard that'll not prevent me from doing major upgrades, and I feel like there's something I'm missing. RAM speed isn't a big deal because I plan to use this until ddr4 becomes manageable. I am mostly concerned about PCI-E connectors, and am still unsure as to what I need in PCI-E connectors. I know what PCI-E is, and how it works, but I don't know whether I need gen2, or gen3 or how many *16 slots I should get.
  18. I render videos, youtube videos using Sony Vegas. I though OpenCL was a program of some sort that allows things like Sony vegas utilise GPU power when rendering.
  19. Although that sort of helps, it doesn't really. What I gather from this is that it does nothing to help with rendering?
