  1. I built a computer for my dad several months ago and it has been working great... Until today. Windows simply will not boot to the installed m.2 NVME SSD. Curiously I can tell that the data is there, by going into bios ez flash I can even navigate the files on the NVME ssd. Things I have done: Updated bios Reset to default bios settings. Made sure CSM is disabled. Removed motherboard battery for ~5 minutes (held down the power button while removed) Reseated the SSD Reseated all power connectors on the motherboard and the PSU Running out of trouble shooting ideas myself. Can't find my windows 10 USB so I'm creating one now to see if I can restore but it is still downloading... Here are the specs for his computer that I can remember: i5-8400 Asus prime H310M-A 16GB crucial @ 2400mhz PCIe SSD honestly can't remember the model but it is 512gb The SSD DOES show up under advanced -->NVME configuration Thank you ahead of time for your help. Let me know what else you need. EDIT: added a few pics hope they help
  2. I have had two identical office chairs now for over 8 years.... Frankly last year was when we should have replaced them, but they were very sturdy and comfortable for around 6.5 years. I'm probably going to have to make a thread asking people for similar ergonomics to mine because the reason they haven't bee replaced is because we haven't found a similar enough seat. Gone through a handful of crappy chairs in a matter of 1-2 years though, price premiums are definitely worth it for most furniture, I think.
  3. Hi there! I have 2x 980ti Hybrids with a 4790k to boot. The performance is excellent. The lowest I have managed to go at 1440p is around 55 with everything in the Witcher 3 completely maxed (hair works included). GTA V runs great in terms of frames but I can't give you a lot of details because my game inconspicuously crashes, so I haven't given it much time. Most games utilize my 144hz, if not at least hitting 75-100 FPS, which is where i start to have a harder time noticing any more. Its an excellent setup, and hasn't disappointed me a bit. Also for clarity I have my CPU at 4.5 ghz and my GPUs at +250mhz, temps are low of course but it is all AIO water cooled, and you may not be going with any of those options. EDIT: Auto correct rekt me, fixed.
  4. I was building a PC for my dad and put in a corsair PSU, I needed an extra sata and grabbed one out of another corsair bag for my own PSU, didn't check the pins.... Womp womp. 2 hard drives lost their lives that day.
  5. I recently purchased an ROG SWIFT (PG278Q) monitor. So far I love the experience while gaming, but there is one little issue I have been having and I'm not sure if this is supposed to occur with g-sync panels, or if I'm doing something wrong. I was using two vg248 monitors before I switched to using the swift as my primary monitor. During this time I could alt tab rapidly out of games and back in without hardly any slowness or lag. Now, with the swift when I switch between a game window and a desktop, or chrome I get this really heavy spike of lag, where I can't do anything (sound works). This happens going to and from my game window. When I go back to my game window I show 1 fps for about 3-5 seconds and the game is frozen, and then it goes back to running perfectly as ever. If anybody has any information to help me, that would be grand! Thanks! -MrGoogleplex P.S. - Here are my specs in case there is anything else that could cause this issue in my PC Asus z97-pro 4790k h110 cooler 16gb corsair vengeance 1600 samsung 840 evo boot drive (with the update to fix that slowness issue that crept up half a year ago or so) 2 intel 730 SSD 240gb in raid 0 Nvidia 980 ti x2 (a bit overkill for 1440p I know) hx1000i PSU EDIT: So I tried a few things, and as of right now things seem to be working even more smoothly than they were when I was on my two other monitors, maybe this will shed some light for somebody else who is having similar issues. I turned on extreme OD in the (amazingly fast) OSD. I'm not sure if that part helped, but I did it and didn't test until I did this next thing. I went into nVidia control panel and switched monitor technology from G-sync to ULMB and tested, things were smooth, I switched back to g-sync and things seem to be running fine now. I appreciate anybody who had started to look up stuff to help me or do any research, but for now I think I got this solved.

  7. Silence is a goal here, I will take a look at the Zalman. I'm hoping I can get to 4.5 ghz, but I read a few reports of people getting unlucky with their silicon dice roll, hitting only 3.9 but that is still more than enough I think.
  8. I know, haha. I got it off of a buddy who ditched most of his rig for x99. Thanks to the rest of you, I appreciate it.
  9. My father wants me to build him a new computer for his basic accounting stuff that he needs to do at work. Here are the programs he uses: QuickBooks, Most of office, mostly Word and Excel, and Browsers. I wanted to get some advice on putting the G3258 into this system. I know I can overclock fairly easily with this processor, and some research has yielded information saying that QuickBooks does not utilize multiple cores, so as far as I know the G3258 will be great for this task. Let me know what you guys think, Thanks! P.S. Here are the rest of the specs I'm looking at if you're interested: Asus Z97-e Crucial MX200 SSD 250gb Corsair 2x4g 1600mhz RAM Some 80+ bronze or better power supply at 450w Noctua NH-l9i Quiet case, not h440, because he actually uses optical drives a lot, maybe the Define R5
  10. I'd be glad to, yeah. I think I am going to go ahead and wait for other releases like it was suggested, simply so that the competition can lower the price, and increase the vesa mount support.
  11. Yeah, this was my plan. I was simply looking for help on which mount would be best for my situation. This may be what I do, because as of right now I am still having a really hard time finding anything that fits what I want from the mount. Thanks!
  12. Hello forum. I will soon be purchasing a LG 34UM95 after Linus' very impressed review of the product, but was majorly turned off by the sight and news of the terrible included stand. So I would like to hear any solutions that you all would be willing to provide me with, in regards to vesa desktop mounts. Some notes: Desktop stands and desktop clasping mounts are what I am looking for, please no wall mounts. I do not have a second monitor with vesa mounting capabilities, and do not see one as a necessity after getting this monitor. My desk has a height limit of 75 centimeters, or 2 and a halfish feet whichever floats your boat. I really like height adjustment, but more importantly swivel, and tilt. (Pivot is nice but not really something I see myself using for this monitor) Budget isn't a major issue. Also first post, whoop!
  13. I think the best thing about the Z2 is the extra buttons, and their great placement. I love what dBrand has done with this skin in particular, and really like the options on their website too.
